Ashley Simpson’s surprise appearance during Demi Lovato’s Los Angeles concert in September was a reminder of how much she loves being on stage, the singer shared during a recent appearance on the Jennifer Hudson Show. But before she can get back out there, she needs a new album of material to perform. It’s been nearly 15 years since the release of her last solo album, but returning to the scene can’t be any more daunting than playing music for her mother-in-law Diana Ross.

“The Masked Singer” semifinal on May 19 includes just one woman — the Black Swan — among the four remaining celebrity contestants. We think this powerhouse performer is the best singer still in the hunt to win the season 5 Golden Mask. She faces off against three fellows who are disguised as the Chameleon, Piglet and Yeti.
The Black Swan secured her place in the semis by winning over the four judges with her cover of the Ed Sheeran hit “Thinking Out Loud” on the May 12 episode. That was just the latest in a line of triumphs dating back to her first appearance on the show in Week 2 when she wowed the crowd with her cover of “Barracuda” by Heart.
To figure out the name of the famous filly hiding inside the Black Swan, we’ve taken another look at those two performances as well as her other four turns at the mike: “In...

As season 5 of “The Masked Singer” heads into the quarter-finals on May 12, the Black Swan is the last woman standing. She earned her slot in the Top 5 with her cover of the Stevie Wonder chart-topper “Do I Do” on the Week 8 episode of this reality competition series on May 5. We’ve been a fan of the Black Swan since she made her debut back in Week 2 with her rocking version of “Barracuda” by Heart.
To figure out which famous female singer is hiding inside the Black Swan costume, we went back and watched that performance as well as all of her others: “In My Blood” by Shawn Mendes in Week 4; “How Will I Know” by Whitney Houston in Week 5; and “Use Somebody” by Kings of Leon in Week 7. And we’ve taken another look at her clever clues videos. Keep reading if you want to know as we have all “The Masked Singer” spoilers,...

Season 5 of “The Masked Singer” is woefully short on women contestants. Only three of them numbered among the 14 plus acts competing for the Golden Mask. Two of them have been sent packing — Phoenix (Caitlyn Jenner) and Seashell (Tamera Mowry). That leaves just the Black Swan still in contention. She sings again on the May 6 episode, “The Spicy 6 – The Competition Heats Up!”
We’ve gone back and watched her previous performances: “Barracuda” by Heart in Week 2; “In My Blood” by Shawn Mendes in Week 4; “How Will I Know” by Whitney Houston in Week 5; and “Use Somebody” by Kings of Leon in Week 7. And we’ve taken another look at her clues videos. Keep reading if you want to know as we have all “The Masked Singer” spoilers, including the name of the Black Swan.
We agree with the four panellists that the star inside the Black Swan costume was a child star.

The Black Swan is the last woman standing on season 5 of “The Masked Singer.” She landed her spot in the Super 6 with her powerful performance of “Use Somebody” by Kings of Leon on the April 21 episode. That quarter-final ended with the elimination of the other remaining female contestant, the Seashell, who turned out to be Tamera Mowry.
The Black Swan and the five remaining fellows are all showcased on the special episode of “The Masked Singer” airing April 28: “The Sing-a-Long: The Maskie Awards.” It includes clips of her previous performances that won over the four judges: “Barracuda” by Heart on March 17; “In My Blood” by Shawn Mendes on March 31; and “How Will I Know” by Whitney Houston on April 7.

No surprise that the Black Swan numbers among the Super 8 competing on “The Masked Singer” on April 21. She has impressed us with her vocal talents since her first appearance on St. Patrick’s Day when she wowed with her rendition of “Barracuda” by Heart. She returned two weeks later and nailed her cover of “In My Blood” by Shawn Mendes. On April 7, the Black Swan secured a place in the season 5 quarterfinal with a toe-tapping version of “How Will I Know” by Whitney Houston.
The judges have figured out that the Black Swan is a pop princess who started her career as a child. But they are wrong with their guesses that this is Demi Lovato or Ashley Simpson. Keep reading if you want to know as we have all “The Masked Singer” spoilers, including the name of the Black Swan.

Fans of the “The Masked Singer” contestants in Group B got a real treat on April 7 as these celebrities competed for the second episode in a row. These remaining contenders for the Golden Mask returned disguised as Black Swan, Chameleon, Crab and Piglet. We first saw all of these but Crab when Group B competed on St. Patrick’s Day. The crusty crustacean made his first appearance as the Wild Card on March 31, when Grandpa Monster was bounced and revealed by guest host Niecy Nash to be YouTube star Logan Paul.
We’ve been busy since then trying to figure out which famous faces are hiding beneath these elaborate masks. Snoop Dogg, Jennifer Hudson and Will.i.am joined the cast of Exodus Film Group’s animated feature “Pierre the Pigeon-Hawk.”
Directed by John D. Eraklis, the New York City-set animated comedy follows Pierre (Will.i.am) who was born out of forbidden love between a hawk (Whoopi Goldberg) and a pigeon (Howie Mandel). Rejected by both communities, he sets out on an adventure to find himself and makes some new friends along the way. His journey of self-discovery propels Pierre to promote the need for diversity, inclusion and community.
Pierre’s new friends include Ophelia, an Owl played by Hudson whose genius is outweighed by her madness. She’s part of a band of unlikely friends who have recently escaped from the Central Park Zoo. Also in the group are a pair of rag tag city squirrels: Scratch (Snoop Dogg) and Sniff (Keenan Thompson).

Another week, another wild card. This time around, Crab joined the cast of “The Masked Singer” as the second wild card of Season 5. This mystery celebrity performed after the other Group B contestants — Black Swan, Chameleon, Grandpa Monster and Piglet — but all were eligible to be unmasked in front of America. So which four costumed characters sailed through to the Group B finals and who was sadly eliminated? Guest host Niecy Nash once again presided over the show and asked questions of panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger.

Ashley Simpson-Wentz displayed her new mommy-to-be figure in a fitted black dress at the opening of husband Pete Wentz's bar Angels & Kings in Chicago.
