Jim Parsons is weighing in on the possibility that there could be more of Sheldon Cooper in the future if a sequel to The Big Bang Theory ever materializes.
The actor was recently asked in an interview what it would take for him to reprise the role of Sheldon Cooper.
“Reincarnation,” he said in an interview with E! News. “Next lifetime.”
He continued, “Never say never to anything. Life is long, God-willing, but I don’t think so.”
Parsons portrayed Sheldon in 12 seasons of the CBS sitcom. He recently reprised his role in the Young Sheldon series finale, a prequel to The Big Bang Theory.
“It was very special to do that,” he said. “The feeling today is kind of odd. It’s the second time now because when we ended The Big Bang Theory it felt like this too, a little bit different, but you shoot that final episode...

As Young Sheldon fans expected, George Cooper died in the penultimate episode of the CBS comedy that wrapped for good on May 16.
What they didn’t expect was that Lance Barber, who’s played Sheldon’s lovable pop George, would appear twice at his character’s own funeral: first as a corpse in the coffin and second, as a grieving woman inside the chapel.
A spokesperson for the comedy confirmed what eagle eye fans had already noticed: that was, indeed, Barber rocking a silver wig, off-white glasses and a wine-colored dress in the otherwise somber scene. It was a blink-and-you’ll-miss it appearance; Barber appeared in the back of the chapel while Georgie (Montana Jordan) was delivering his eulogy.
The spokesperson for the show told Deadline that Barber “surprised everyone and showed up like that.”

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, the spinoff of the recently concluded Young Sheldon, which was a spinoff of The Big Bang Theory, is an opportunity for producers to tell new stories involving Georgie Cooper (Montana Jordan) and his wife Mandy (Emily Osment), the older brother and sister-in-law of Sheldon Cooper now that his tales have been chronicled. TV Insider caught up with executive producer/head writer Steve Holland, Jordan, and Osment on the Paramount lot at a press event to kick off the new Fall TV season to preview the CBS sitcom, which will appear both familiar and new to viewers. “There wasn’t a grand plan behind it,” Holland tells us about why the characters of Georgie and Mandy were chosen to be spun off from Young Sheldon. He says the idea came about after the producers, including series creator Chuck Lorre, watched the two actors and saw their delightful chemistry.

Originally created as a prequel to The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon has since moved from focusing on the character of Sheldon to capturing the lives of the members of the Cooper family and the people around them.
The show, which has grown to be far more meaningful than expected, has tackled many issues, including the importance of having a reliable support system in your family to face the trials of the outside world. Sheldon's young rival Paige was the perfect foil to underscore this message, but was dumped and never brought back.
What Happened to Paige in Young Sheldon?
Paige started out as a very strong character, a prodigy, just like Sheldon. However, unlike the title character, she is also in touch with her emotional side and knows how to attract people. Young Sheldon boss Steve Holland would like to use this opportunity to address the fate of Paige Swanson (and debunk all of your tragic theories about her absence in The Big Bang Theory).
Mckenna Grace’s character, a fellow child prodigy, was introduced early in Season 2 of the prequel series and served as Sheldon’s chief rival at East Texas Tech. Aside from Tam, who crossed over to Big Bang, she was the closest thing that Sheldon had to a friend, and remained an acquaintance for many years, eventually befriending Sheldon’s twin sister Missy.

Young Sheldon, the spin-off prequel series centered around the childhood of The Big Bang Theory character Sheldon Cooper, has recently concluded with 7 successful seasons. It explored the iconic Tbbt character’s past and shed light on several events that were hinted at in the main show.

However, most of the fans were shocked to realize that Dr. Sturgis was not even mentioned in Tbbt’s finale even after playing a key role in shaping Sheldon Cooper’s celebrated career.

The Big Bang Theory, a comedy sitcom about a group of scientist friends that deal with their love life and career achievements throughout the whole series, came to its end back in 2019 with a seemingly good turn of events for every main character.
And while most of them indeed showed up on the peak of their life in all aspects, one particular character’s storyline still seems to have been unfinished.
In the show’s finale Sheldon and Amy are a happy couple that receives the Nobel Prize in Physics after having worked together on super asymmetry, Leonard and Penny are expecting their first child and Howard also happily lives with Bernadette and their two children.

It looks like CBS canceling Young Sheldon didn’t just frustrate the show’s fans. It seems that it also took many of the cast members by surprise. Annie Potts, who plays Meemaw on Young Sheldon, said the cancelation “ambushed” the entire and she calls it a “stupid business move.”
Here is what Annie Potts said about the show’s cancelation and if this is the least we will see of Meemaw.
Annie Potts Blasts Young Sheldon Cancelation
Annie Potts has played Sheldon Cooper’s Meemaw in Young Sheldon, and the actress has become one of the show’s most popular characters. However, when CBS announced that the current season was the last for the series, Potts said she and other cast members were “ambushed” by the news and weren’t ready to end their roles on the series.

Fans are disappointed that CBS canceled Young Sheldon despite its continued popularity and high ratings. Even some cast members have spoken out about the show ending, even though the Big Bang Theory universe will continue with a different spin-off. However, there is some exciting news about the finale.
Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik will return as the adult Sheldon Cooper and his wife Amy Farrah Fowler in the series finale. Here is what you need to know.
Jim Parsons & Mayim Bialik Coming To Young Sheldon Finale
It might seem hard to believe, but neither Jim Parsons nor Mayim Bialik have ever appeared in person on Young Sheldon. Parsons has done the narration throughout the series, so he has been a part of it. However, he never appeared on camera as Sheldon in the series. Likewise, Bialik had some voice-over work on the show, but also never appeared as Amy on camera.

In Young Sheldon’s Season 7 premiere, Mandy swore that she would never move back in with her parents. “She’s pretty adamant that she would never do it,” executive producer Steve Holland told TVLine at the time. “Although, six or seven people in one house, with one bathroom, can start to wear thin after a while” — especially when that bathroom no longer has a working toilet.

Reba McEntire‘s June Ballard was a fan favorite during her guest appearance on Young Sheldon, and many viewers are hoping the Queen of Country will reprise her role for the final season. Speaking to TVLine, the show’s executive producer, Steve Holland, said he, too, would love to see McEntire return to the set one last time. “We would love to have her back,” Holland stated, adding, “She’s expressed interest, but she’s very busy. She has another [sitcom] pilot that she’s shooting…so I just don’t know if it’s going to work out.” The pilot Holland referenced is a new NBC multi-camera comedy that will see McEntire reunite with Kevin Abbott, Michael Hanel, and Mindy Schultheis, all executive producers on her early 2000s sitcom Reba. While it doesn’t yet have a title, the upcoming project is said to star McEntire as a woman who...

With viewership that peaked at nearly 14 million an episode, Young Sheldon is one of the most successful sitcoms in recent memory.
And the show is spun off from The Big Bang Theory, which, despite never gaining a foothold with critics, was one of the most-watched sitcoms of all time, serving as CBS' biggest hit for much its 12-season run.
So it comes as no surprise that yet another Sheldon-verse spinoff will be coming to CBS in the very near future.
What is somewhat surprising, however, is the fact that some of the franchise's biggest stars will be reprising their roles for the upcoming Young Sheldon series finale.
It was announced this week that both Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik will be returning to CBS as Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler.
Parsons is an executive producer on Young Sheldon, and he's been narrating the series since its first episode.

Shamy fans rejoice! Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik will reprise their roles from The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon Lee Cooper, and Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler, respectively, for the series finale of the Young Sheldon prequel series! Think again if we can share details about the couple’s reunion! The powers that be are keeping that business under wraps. Will they feature in a time skip? Does Young Sheldon (Iain Armitage) invent a time machine? The mystery remains.
The couple last appeared in the May 2019 series finale of The Big Bang Theory, which included a surprisingly emotional moment of self-reflection by Parsons’ Sheldon Cooper during a Nobel Prize acceptance speech. While Young Sheldon is beloved by Big Bang Theory fans, a reunion with Sheldon and Amy will surely gain significant attention for the forthcoming finale.

It wasn’t surprising when news broke that CBS was ending Young Sheldon last year.
Sheldon (Iain Armitage) is growing up and is slowly but surely getting to the age we know he leaves his family behind to follow his dreams.
With the season well underway — and a big death on the horizon — CBS is already plotting an extension of the franchise.
This week, the network went straight-to-series on a sequel featuring Georgie (Montana Jordan) and Mandy (Emily Osment) as they raise their family in Texas.
The new series marks the fourth in the franchise after The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, and an untitled spinoff at Max.
The series order means the network was confident enough to forego the traditional pilot order.

Bazinga again! “The Big Bang Theory” stars Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik will guest star on the series finale of CBS’ “Young Sheldon,” reuniting as Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler. Details of the episode, which airs Thursday, May 16, and how Parsons and Bialik will be incorporated into it, remains a secret.
Parsons, of course, has been a part of “Young Sheldon” from the beginning, serving as the show’s narrator and as one of its executive producers. Bialik has also been heard on two episodes of “Young Sheldon” as a guest voiceover. But this reps the first time the duo has been on screen together since the May 2019 series finale of “The Big Bang Theory,” and it also marks the first on-camera appearance of their characters — as grown-up Sheldon and Amy.

The Big Bang Theory-verse is officially expanding as CBS on Tuesday greenlighted a new half-hour, multi-camera comedy series starring Montana Jordan and Emily Osment for broadcast in the 2024-2025 season.
Created by the producing team behind The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon — Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro and Steve Holland — the sequel series follows Young Sheldon’s Georgie (Jordan) and Mandy (Osment) as they raise their young family in Texas while navigating the challenges of adulthood, parenting and marriage.
Deadline reported in January that the spinoff was in the works as the two leads were working on their deals. Additional notes included Lorre, Molaro and Holland’s history with the franchise as all three have worked on The Big Bang Theory or Young Sheldon (or both simultaneously) since the launch of the mothership series, which Lorre co-created, in 2007. As is appropriate for a franchise that started with The Big Bang Theory, its universe keeps expanding.
CBS has formally ordered a spinoff of Young Sheldon — itself a Big Bang prequel — that will focus on Georgie (Montana Jordan), Sheldon’s older brother, and his fiancée, Mandy (Emily Osment), as they raise their young family in Texas. The project has been in the works since January, and a straight-to-series order was expected after deals closed.
Young Sheldon executive producers Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro and Steve Holland will continue in their roles on the new series, which will be part of CBS’ 2024-25 slate. Warner Bros. TV, Lorre’s longtime home, is producing.

After getting lost in Germany, Young Sheldon is heading home.
While it wasn’t explicitly stated during Thursday’s locomotive-themed installment, Season 7, Episode 3 of the Big Bang Theory prequel marked the end of Sheldon and Mary’s summer in Heidelberg. The passage of time was slyly indicated via George Sr. and Mary’s letters, which each took approximately 10 days to get from Texas to Germany, and vice versa.

If TVLine’s exclusive sneak peek is any indication, Thursday’s Young Sheldon (CBS, 8/7c) will prove the hypothesis that distance makes the heart grow fonder.
Mary (Zoe Perry) remains in Heidelberg with Sheldon in Season 7, Episode 3 — and long-distance calls are awfully expensive for the working-class Coopers. So, George Sr. (Lance Barber) decides write his wife a letter, just like he did while he was stationed in Vietnam. (Romantic, ain’t it?)
