We didn’t foresee any of those Scandal events going down the way they did, did you?
The true mastermind behind Frankie Vargas’ assassination was finally revealed during Thursday’s season six finale. At first, it seemed as though Olivia Pope’s (Kerry Washington) mother Maya (Khandi Alexander) was at fault, but it was later revealed she was actually hired to assassinate Mellie (Bellamy Young) at the inauguration. But, plot twist: Maya wanted to kill the real mastermind, newly-elected Vice President Luna Vargas (Tessie Santiago), though her attempt was thwarted.

Sunday’s Feud: Bette and Joan took us to the 1963 Oscars, where there was, remarkably, only a single contender in the category of Least Gracious Non-Nominee: a certain Miss Crawford. How ugly did it get? Pour yourself a stiff one — you’re going to need it if you plan to read on.

Scandal resumes Season 4 on Thursday, Jan. 29 — yet ABC has not released any photos from that winter premiere. Instead, the first photos are from the following episode, airing Feb. 5, and the news is grim: Olivia apparently still is missing.
For one, the episode is titled, “Where’s the Black Lady?” — words, I will predict, that come out of the mouth of Opa visitor Marla Gibbs (The Jeffersons). Secondly, the synopsis reads, “With Olivia still missing, the team comes together to do whatever it takes to find her and get her home safely.”
Lastly, the look of anxiety/anguish on the faces of Quinn,...

Oh, Olivia. I'm sure it seemed like a brilliant move to dismantle B613 while you had the chance, but of course it's all gone pear-shaped this week, as unplugging the phones over there made it easy for a bunch of bad guys to put a plot to kill Fitz into action. And, because there are only four terrorists in the known world, one of those involved in this plot is Mama Pope. Isn't that cozy? It's really like a really dysfunctional family reunion, as Papa Pope uses Olivia's office to kill Maya's ex-boyfriend (and Olivia is So pissed, probably because blood stains never really come out) and Quinn and Charlie drop by and it's all hands on deck to make sure Fitz isn't turned into hamburger surprise. Of course, we know that Fitz isn't the one who has to worry next week -- Sally is. Thanks to Jake and David...

Scandal, Season 3, Episode 1: “It’s Handled”
Written by Shonda Rhimes
Directed by Tom Verica
Airs Thursdays at 10 pm (Et) on ABC
On this week’s Scandal premiere, Olivia’s father reveals himself to be the worst human monster (“I am the Hell And the high water.”) on a show filled with moral ambiguity, Olivia pulls the proverbial fire alarm to plot with Fitz and Mellie, and Pope and Associates (minus the “Pope”) sacrifice one woman’s career to save their faltering leader.
Do you know what’s worse than seeing Olivia Pope losing her white hat, or being treated like dirt by her married lover? Seeing Olivia Pope belittled and scolded to the point of tears by her father. In a genuinely disconcerting and jaw-dropping scene, Papa Pope whisks his newly-outed (as the President’s mistress) daughter away to a private plane, where he proceeds to release a thoroughly...

As Kurt and Blaine battle it out with the Doctor and Rose in EW’s Greatest TV Couple of All Time championship, we’re unveiling our favorite couples who didn’t advance as far as we would have liked. Here’s the case for Peter and Olivia of Fringe.
The question EW has been asking in polls throughout this tournament is “Whose love is stronger?” In Round 2, voters favored Gossip Girl’s Chuck and Blair over Peter and Olivia by a 10.6 percent margin. But I have to argue that only the strongest love – like that shared between Olivia and Peter...
