“Hawaii Five-0” alum Grace Park has joined the cast of ABC’s “A Million Little Things,” stepping in for Anne Son in the upcoming fall drama.
Park will play Katherine, a working mom trying to juggle her successful legal career and role as her family’s sole breadwinner with her responsibilities as a parent. She replaces Son, who played the role in the pilot.
The role marks a return to primetime for Park, who departed CBS’s “Hawaii Five-0” last year along with her co-star Daniel Dae Kim over a pay disparity with their white co-workers.

The pair were unable to come to terms with CBS Television Studios, which produces the series, leading to their exit.
She is repped by The Characters Agency and Capstone Talent Management.

Having experienced plenty of American Crime, Timothy Hutton is now turning his attention to the legal system.
The actor will co-star in the CBS drama pilot Main Justice, which is inspired by the life and work of Eric Holder, the first African-American Attorney General of the United States, our sister site Deadline reports.
Hutton will play Deputy Attorney General Thomas Yarrow, who was the interim Attorney General prior to the recently sworn-in Miles Blair (Fargo‘s Bokeem Woodbine). Yarrow — whose ego is only matched by the money he spends on his wardrobe — is immediately critical of Blair’s decisions.

Not long after the TV ratings came in for last Thursday night's episode of My Generation, the show was cancelled by ABC. How many are there anyway?
My Generation follows a group of twenty-somethings who were part of a documentary while in high school. Ten years after graduation, the filmmaker returns to see how their lives have changed. The ABC series stars Julian Morris, Keir O'Donnell, Kelli Garner, Mehcad Brooks, Michael Stahl-David, Anne Son, Daniella Alonso, Jaime King, and Sebastian Sozzi.

Despite a lot of promotion, My Generation stumbled out of the gate and now ABC has cancelled it after two episodes. If you were watching the ratings, this doesn't come as a surprise.
My Generation revolves around a diverse group of young adults who attended high school together. While there, they were interviewed for a documentary. They reunite 10 years later and we see how their lives and expectations have changed. The ensemble cast includes Anne Son, Daniella Alonso, Jaime King, Julian Morris, Keir O’Donnell, Kelli Garner, Mehcad Brooks, Michael Stahl-David, and Sebastian Sozzi.
In its first week on the air, My Generation attracted poor ratings with a 1.6 in the 18-49 demographic and 5.2 million total viewers. That was bad enough to land it in fourth place for both categories.
For week two, the numbers were much worse.

The My Generation series premiere presents viewers with an ambitious character dynamic. Much like Modern Family, the series employs a dramatic-mockumentary lens to explore America’s changing landscape over the last 10 years. However, instead of dealing with a small nucleus of the population, My Generation captures a more expansive view of our changing society through nine very diverse sets of eyes. Each character has been affected by anything from prejudice and 9-11 to Enron and election mishaps. The cast includes Michael Stahl-David (Cloverfield, Numb3rs), Julian Morris (24), Mehcad Brooks (True Blood), Kelli Garner (Going the Distance), Jaime King (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Keir O'Donnell (Sons of Anarchy), Sebastian Sozzi (Law & Order), Daniella Alonso (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) and Anne Son (ER). ABC‘s My Generation has a very tough road ahead, and most of its difficulty comes from an overabundance of drama and competition. Up against The Big Bang Theory, Bones, Community, and Vampire Diaries, the target audience is spread awfully thin. More importantly, while the show had me pretty interested for some twenty to thirty minutes, the pilot’s theory of piling on drama as we continue peeling the onion ultimately became too much to handle.
The show takes us through the fake documentary of a select group of people who were originally caught on tape when they were seniors at Greenbelt High School in Austin, TX. There's something about the nostalgia of young adulthood in ABC's "My Generation" that makes it endearing, which can make one feel alternately fond of and rather embarrassed for the characters.
The concept is simple, nine graduating Greenbelt High School seniors get filmed for a documentary in 2000, and a decade later, the cameras are back to see what progress they've made, what dreams they've fulfilled, what lessons they've learned. What was once an unknown, exciting and bright future has become the reality that unfolds on TV, and often it's not what was expected or planned.
Nine people around the same age can be difficult to keep track of, which is why it's nice that the show cast people who look fairly different from each other and also give us handy labels such as "nerd" for us to remember them by.
Very quickly, a before and after 2000/2010:

"My Generation" is ABC's new documentary-style scripted drama that shows a group of high school students in the year 2000 and what has happened to them in the ensuing 10 years. Zap2it caught up with star Jaime King at the Ktla Morning Show, where she tells us about the loveless marriage her character is in and the ramifications of that relationship.
"Jackie is one of my favorite characters I've ever played. At 18 years old, she's super-popular, everybody loves her and her big dream is to move to Hollywood and be a famous actress," King explains. I get married to a man who really has always been in love with someone else."

Chicago – The new ABC dramedy “My Generation” is all concept and no execution. Creator Noah Hawley (the vastly-superior “The Unusuals”) came up with an idea and found a talented cast and the creativity died shortly thereafter. The foundation is a clever and inspired one but the writing staff adds nothing more than cliche to it, piling on characters who feel barely two-dimensional and rarely finding a genuine moment in the lackluster and bloated series premiere.
Television Rating: 1.5/5.0
The show opens with its high-concept set-up. A documentary crew visited a high school in 2000 and found a bunch of cliches like the nerd, the brain, the rich kid, and the rock star. And that’s not this critic diminishing the characters — the doc-within-a-show literally labels them in those broad terms. My Generation premieres this Thursday @8/7c on ABC.
Back in May when the promo for ABC’s My Generation was released to the press, I felt a wave of nostalgia wash over me in an instant, as if the show was speaking to me personally about my life post high school graduation. In short, I was already won over. With my first high school class reunion coming up next year, I felt that My Generation was a perfect mirror for me to reflect on the ten years that had passed by revisiting the times through the eyes of these nine characters. Well, I was wrong (but not in a bad way), because My Generation follows the Class of 2000, I graduated in 2001. Oops.
That date mixup didn’t deter my enjoyment, however, of the pilot for the ABC dramedy/mockumentary, which centers around nine high school archetypes (the jock, the beauty queen,...

"My Generation" is a faux-documentary about a group of high school students and where they are in their lives 10 years after they graduated.
It stars Michael Stahl-David ("The Black Donnellys"), Kelli Garner ("Lars and the Real Girl"), Jaime King ("The Class"), Keir O'Donnell ("Sons of Anarchy"), Sebastian Sozzi ("Choke"), Mehcad Brooks ("The Deep End," "True Blood"), Anne Son ("Wake"), Daniella Alonso ("Friday Night Lights") and Julian Morris ("24," "ER"). "My Generation" was created and written by Noah Hawley ("The Unusuals," "Bones"), who is also an executive producer.
What a difference ten years can make. The Fall TV Season presentations for all the new network shows take place this week with the third announced today. Here's a full breakdown of which concepts have made the final list over on ABC.
The Alphabet solidly finished this past season with five of the top fifteen highest-rated TV series in the key Adults 18-49 demographic - "Grey's Anatomy," "Lost," "Desperate Housewives," "Dancing with the Stars" and "The Bachelor". Yet there's an obvious concern that the network has been floundering a bit when it comes to new shows - especially in terms of scripted drama which has been its greatest strength in modern times.

Chicago – ABC continues to look for another “Lost” or “Modern Family” this fall with seven new shows announced today at their 2010 upfronts presentation. The network will see changes on four nights of the week but will bring back the sometimes on-the-bubble “Castle” in its Monday night timeslot while saying goodbye to “FlashForward,’ “Scrubs,” and “Better Off Ted”.
Stephen McPherson, president, ABC Entertainment Group, said this morning via press release, “Our passion for great storytelling is at the core of everything we do. Finding and supporting writers, directors, producers and actors who share that passion is critical to our success. Our shows are the product of these collaborations, and we are thrilled to add 10 new series to our schedule next year.” (Seven will premiere in the fall with three more reserved for midseason.)
