Why does almost everyone I meet ask me to write a movie about their
life? I don't want anyone writing a movie about MY life!
I don't like reading other people's screenplays. In fact, I don't even
like reading my own.
Writing a screenplay is like driving at night. You can only see as far
as your headlights, but it's possible to make the entire journey that
way.
I have never liked the term 'script doctor' because, in essence, every
writer on a movie can be called that. It also implies that the other
writers were somehow deficient. I prefer to be referred to as a
participating writer.
Being a script doctor is like making love to a beautiful woman and hearing her call out someone else's name.
