Sports Illustrated’s latest cover addresses the ongoing debate over NFL players protesting racial inequality in the U.S. by kneeling during the national anthem, but the issue is not being well-received on social media as it’s missing one key player. The cover features prominent figures in sports, including NBA players LeBron James and Stephen Curry, NFL players Aaron Rodgers and Michael Bennet, and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Notably absent, however, is former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who started this debate in the first place. Sports Illustrated tweeted out a picture of the cover, which has “A...

Hey everyone, look, Chris Jericho is back! How long will it be before he says something really lame and unfunny? “Rooty, tooty, booty.” Huh. I think that took about a minute.
Elsewhere in wrestling, SmackDown started on a new network and a got a new announcer, which somehow was so offensive to Jerry Lawler that he kind of turned heel. Tna had their first live show on their new network, which was a decent outing, minus Mike Bennet’s outfit.
Oh, and we’re doing that bit with R-Truth not knowing what the hell is going on again? Damn. Apparently no one in WWE has heard of the phrase “beating a dead horse.” Just give the man his own show on the network where he does that for a half hour every week Vince and get it out of your system! In a rare moment of wisdom, though,...

Best-selling author and journalist Jonathan Alter (The Center Holds: Obama and His Enemies, The Defining Moment: Fdr’s Hundred Days and the Triumph of Hope) explains what it has been like to go Hollywood and produce a pilot for Amazon – Alpha House, created by Garry Trudeau (Doonesbury). Alter explains the real-life roots of the show and what it was like to work with Trudeau, as well as with an amazing cast led by John Goodman. And those cameos! (Might there be more Stephen Colbert? We begin with a recap of last week’s main event and already the presentation has improved by leaps and bounds. The production is slick and polished, but the overly dramatic music is still pretty cheesy and takes the shine off a little.
Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness are standing by the entrance ramp discussing last week’s main event, and announce tonight’s main event will be Davey Richards against his training partner Kyle O’Riley
And then we have a perfect example of everything that’s wrong with wrestling by cutting to a promo of Mike Mondo, aka Biff from Back To The Future. He tells people not to crowd him “’cause I take up a lot of space”. I actually rolled my eyes at that one. Basically the whole promo is about how strong he is and Mike thinks he’s the “biggest man in town”.

Before the opening titles we get a recap of last weeks Proving Ground between new comers Caprice Colman and Cedric Alexander against Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team, which admittedly is well worth watching again, and the post match promo from Dem Boys, the Briscos.
There are some subtle tweaks to the set up they have at the Davis Arena in Louisville, Kentucky which gives Roh a more professional look.
This week’s main event is the American Wolves (Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards) against the House Of Truth (Mike Elgin and Roderick Strong)
This weeks opening match has a tag team debuting. They are known as the Bravado brothers and they look like extras from The Brady Bunch. They face The Young Bucks, formerly known as Generation Me in Tna Wrestling. It’s good to see them back even if they are still dressed in what Alex Shelly once called “Hardy...

We get a brief recap on last episode’s main event and its time limit finish, then the intro.
This episode was recorded in Louisville, Kentucky
We get a continuation of Roderick Strong’s campaign against Davey Richards, with a prelim video with Strong and his opponent for match one, Kyle O’Riley. O’Riley says hes being disrespectful, Strong says Team Richards goes from town to town not getting laid and that’s pathetic. Nice.
Match One: Roderick Strong w/ Truth Martini def. Kyle O’Riley
Before the match Martini makes the announcer introduce him as Strong’s “Life Intervention Expert, The Founder And Leader Of The House Of Truth, The TV, Super Duper, King Kong,...

This latest episode of Ring Of Honor Wrestling was recorded from Loiusville, Kentucky, and right off the bat we get treated to a little sample of how Roh’s new show is slowly adding to its presentation style. We see commentators Nigel McGuinnes and Kevin Kelly on screen broadcasting together for the first time. It’s a nice touch, giving Roh a little more legitimacy as a contender in the broadcast stakes, and also charmingly reminiscent of Joey Style’s old backstage area in Ecw. There’s even a chain link fence in the background. They tell us that the show’s main event will be Jay Lethal’s first defence of his Television Championship against Mike Bennet. I have to say, its really cool that there is a title match each week, it gives it a real big fight feel every week.

When Air Force One touches down in San Francisco this afternoon, it's unlikely President Obama will be nervously studying talking points and policy 3x5s en route to Facebook, where he'll be holding an online town hall meeting later today. After all, this is no presidential debate--don't expect tough questions and scrutiny from Facebook hosts Mark Zuckerberg and Sheryl Sandberg, who are to moderate the discussion.
But that's not to say media outlets, voters, and Facebook users wouldn't love to ask Obama and Zuck a wide range of questions about their relationship and the growing bond between the White House and the world's largest social network. Instead, however, the President is expected to speak on a decidedly safe topic for his first major stop after announcing his reelection last week: his budget plan.
Here are three topics Obama and Facebook are most assuredly looking to avoid:

Using online opinions to help predict results, The Daily Beast's Election Oracle nailed almost every major race last week. Randall Lane on whether this is the future of polling.
George Gallup described polling simply as the science of reflecting public opinion, and like any science, it's only as good as the technology driving it. The first "modern" election polls, launched between the World Wars by Literary Digest, leveraged a new innovation, air mail, but failed famously in 1936, as the disproportionately wealthy audience forecast an Alf Landon landslide over Fdr. Telephone surveys proved better, but also favored the rich at first (when phones were a luxury) and the old more recently (since younger voters tend to be cell-only, unreachable by pollsters). Exit polls, demographic modeling, prediction markets-all have been deployed to varied results.

X Factor winner Shayne Ward on the cover of Gay Times. Sorry fellas, Shayne is strayt.
I failed. Yesterday I had vowed to vote in the afternoon and then not pay any attention to election results until it was all over and the dust had settled. Well, I was glued to MSNBC by 8 Pm. With all of the bad news last night, there were a few bright spots. In my home state of NY, volatile nutjob Carl Paladino lost to the "legendary prowess" of Andrew Cuomo. And then he proceeded to give a concession speech involving a ... baseball bat ... and veiled threats. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what the hell he was going for here.
Fellow Tea Party crazies (and phobes) Sharron Angle, Christine O'Donnell and likely Joe Miller also lost, which may be good for us, but will be tragic for late night comedians. Lost in all...

When it comes to the repeal of the U.S. Armed Forces' controversial "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy, Lady Gaga is proving that she's not giving up without a fight.
Gaga, who has often used her celebrity to speak out in favor of gay rights, recently launched a campaign to prompt lawmakers to repeal "Don't Ask," which bars openly gay Americans from serving in the military and has prompted the discharge of thousands of servicemembers. She walked the Vma white carpet with former members of the military who were kicked out because of their sexual orientation and she has been tweeting with high-profile politicians such as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Former President Bill Clinton's endorsement of Colorado House Speaker Andrew Romanoff took the White House by surprise, as President Obama had already endorsed the incumbent, Sen. Michael Bennet. Asked about the White House's comfort level with the decision, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs noted that Clinton's "relationships" led him to make decisions and, if given the choice, he'd rather find out about these endorsements before the press does.

Outfest 2010 just announced that Howl will be their opener come July. That adds some serious star power with James Franco, Jon Hamm, Mary-Louise Parker, and Jeff Daniels. The film follows the life of beat poet Allen Ginsberg.
In other James Franco news (can there ever be enough?), at the premiere of his directorial debut, Saturday Night, he mentioned that he’s hoping to be a teaching assistant when he joins Yale’s Ph.D English program in the fall. I think having James Franco as an instructor might even impress freshmen at Yale.

Update 2: A spokesperson for Senator Michael Bennet tells Fast Company that Facebook representatives will be meeting with Senator Schumer's office soon. The spokesman could not go into the breadth of such potential government regulation, nor did he comment on what would occur if Facebook did not comply with the senators's demands. "[It's] just a starting point," the spokesman said. "We need to see what the FTC says."
Update: At a press conference on Facebook privacy concerns (see the previous update below for a full description), Senators Bennet, Schumer, and Franken joined together to condemn recent changes in policy that make user data available to the public, whether through 3rd-party aggregators or targeted advertisements. During the conference, the senators argued that it was unfair for Facebook to automatically enroll users in the "state of sharing," and urged Facebook to make it so, by default, user data is private unless members choose to opt-in.

Chuck Schumer (D-ny), Al Franken (D-mn), Michael Bennet (D-co), and Mark Begich (D-ak) sent a letter—a Facebook Message, if you will—to Internet baron Mark Zuckerberg detailing their concerns that the site’s creepy new emphasis on furtive information sharing is indeed creepy. “If the user does not want to connect to a page with other users from their current town or university, the user will have that information deleted altogether from their profile. We appreciate that Facebook allows users to type this information into the ‘Bio’ section of their profiles, and privatize it, but we believe that users should have more control over these very personal and very common data points,” they wrote, according to Politico. The senators also take issue with the expanded access that advertisers will now have to user information.
