Ever since One Direction called it quits (for now, at least), everybody wondered which member would be the first to come out with new tunes. Today, Niall Horan has emerged as the winner, as the singer released his debut solo single, “This Town.”
Fans of One Direction will feel right at home with the somber acoustic number. Horan’s voice is as recognizable as ever as he sings over simple guitar chords in the song about losing a loved one to someone else. If the track sounds familiar to you, it’s probably because it was written with a team featuring Jamie Scott and Mike Needle – both who were responsible for writing One Direction songs back in the day.
Though Horan’s first solo offering isn’t particularly bad, the only criticism is that it does truly sound like it could have been a One Direction song. The point of...

Almost exactly a year after releasing its third album, “Midnight Memories,” enduring boy band One Direction returns Nov. 17 with its fourth album, the cleverly titled “Four” (Are they in cahoots with Maroon 5, who just released “V,” their fifth album? Also, not to be confused with Huey Lewis & The News' "Fore" album) The British quintet announced the album via YouTube, as well as informed fans about the availability of 24-hour free download of “Fireproof.” Two of the band’s members, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne, co-wrote the new tune with John Ryan, Jamie Scott and Julian Bunetta. “Fireproof” is a mid-tempo, sweet, wistful tune, which features, per usual, the members trading lines about a love that goes on despite the odds. A drum loop propels it forward, as a nice electric guitar line gives it some heft. It doesn’t have an undeniably catchy chorus or build like “Story of My Life,...

One Tree Hill wraps up nine emotional seasons Wednesday night with a two-hour series finale on the CW. I’ll admit that it really will be hard to say goodbye.
I was a high school freshman when One Tree Hill debuted on the then-wb network in September 2003. Like brainy Haley James Scott (Bethany Joy Galeotti) and baby-faced Lucas Scott (Chad Michael Murray), I was navigating my way through teen angst. I tuned in because I had a Dawson’s Creek-size hole in my schedule and I would do just about anything not to do my English homework.

Nathan Scott and Alex Dupre made decisions to leave town during the latest installment of One Tree Hill. We reviewed the episode in detail Wednesday night.
Now it's time for panelists Nick McHatton, Miranda Wicker, Brian Shure, and Dan Forcella to answer questions about Mouth packing on the pounds, trusting Chris Keller and more in this week's One Tree Hill Round Table.

What was the best moment of the episode?
Nick: I love the witty banter Victoria and Ted share, but I'm going with my favorite character again: Brooke. Her speech to Victoria that no matter how terrible her parents are she's still willing to give them a multitude of second chances, she is still willing to share her family, love, and success with all for some microscopic of it in return.

This week's episode of "The Vampire Diaries" showcased some characters that have been backburnered lately -- specifically, Bonnie and Tyler. It's no secret that I don't love the way Bonnie is written on this show. Kat Graham is fantastic, but the writing for Bonnie is uneven and the emotional consequences of her stories tend to be swept aside in favor of using her as a plot device.
This episode went a long way toward giving her some history and some depth, though, which was a relief. It was also nice to see her and Elena spend some time focusing on human emotion and what those emotions mean outside the realm of their supernatural civil war.
We also saw some definite movement when it comes to the central love triangle of the show. Most importantly, there was finally some clear acknowledgement that it is a triangle, in a powerful and heartbreaking scene between Stefan and Elena.

The Vampire Diaries delivered a heart-wrenching, action-packed episode last night, one full of stunning admissions; near-death experiences; and, said in as creepy a voice as I can muster, murder.
Now, we invite fans to come along with our Round Table team Matt Richenthal, Steve Marsi, Dan Forcella and Eric Hochberger as they relive "Our Town" and answer the most pressing questions related to the terrific installment...
-------------------------------------------
What was your favorite scene from the episode?
Matt: So many from which I could choose... but for true shock value, it had to be Stefan beheading that hybrid. That guy is quicker than John Wall on the fast break! I didn't see the decapitation coming and I let out an audible laugh once it went down.
Steve: Stefan going completely off the rails with his indiscriminate, Klaus-esque hybrid slayings, followed by nearly driving off the bridge with Elena. Didn't part of you think he might do it?...

Is One Tree Hill looking to go out with a bang or a pretty wrapped bow as it ends its 9th season? From all indications from the two-minute teaser which jump-starts this final season, and from the cryptic remarks of the cast and creator, fans better be prepared to break out the Kleenex. The body under a white sheet in the morgue make be the best clue, but given the number of tears shed at a special sneak peek screening of One Tree Hill’s 9th season opener by the cast last week, one of the show’s beloved characters is not going to make it through the season.

One Tree Hill Season 9 Promos The End
The final 13 episodes of the CW’s beloved One Tree Hill are within sight. It will be the end of an era as Season Nine kicks off the beginning of the end for your series favorites. Today’s video is a promo shedding some light on what we can expect from the charged final season.
Darkness. Joy. Love. Good memories. Violence. And fire. It is all coming to One Tree Hill!
Chad Michael Murray will make his exciting return to the One Tree Hill set for Season Nine. As Lucas, he may just add some calm to the storms of Haley’s life. As for Bethany Joy Galeotti in the role of Haley, she will definitely be exploring motherhood as the show winds to a close. James Lafferty’s Nathan will be the subject of somewhat of a man hunt thanks to Haley and Dan also.

We’ve got a couple of casting additions to the finale season of One Tree Hill. Both are coming from announcements made on Kabookit and both will be first appearing in the same episode, which, judging by the production code, will be the fifth episode of the ninth season. The roles are recurring, so they will be pop up in subsequent episodes as well.
The first I’ll mention is Dax Griffin who was cast as the father of Chuck, one of Jamie Scott’s friends. There’s no description of the character given, so as always we’re left to speculate whether he’s important or not. I’m sure he’ll just be there to give Chuck a dad. Griffin can be glimpsed in a small role in The Change-Up, starring Ryan Reynolds and Justin Bateman. He has also appeared in a number of TV shows, including The Vampire Diaries,...

Interview
I recently sat down with Canadian rocker John O., an interesting guy who only came out two years ago at the embarkment of a new persona. You might know him as Diamond Rings, an androgynous character who wears rainbow themed make-up all-the-while making some of the coolest Depeche Mode quality alt-rock on the scene right now. And with a baritone voice as deep as The National’s Matt Berninger.
In his latest video for “It’s Not My Party” John is seen walking down the street in a dress singing in one of the deepest voices that would put your granddad to shame. I’m digging his whole package and I loved talking with him.
Going into my meeting with John, I found out he’s quite tall, towering over me at 6’4. He’s incredibly intelligent and has these striking blue eyes that I would have never noticed if...

Jamie Scott of Graffiti6
Odds are good you might not know much about the UK pop duo Graffiti6 just yet. But if you've been watching MTV's Teen Wolf (or Grey's Anatomy or Covert Affairs) then you've at least heard their music. And if you haven't seen them, then you'll be happy to know that Jamie Scott, who does vocals for the group, isn't just easy on the eyes, but is very gay-friendly. Which is exactly why we have an interview coming up with him in the next couple of weeks.
But until then here is Graffiti6's recent in-studio performance of "Staring at the Sun" at Kcrw in Los Angeles.

Tuesday's Season 8 finale of "One Tree Hill" was not the series finale -- just hours before airtime, The CW officially picked up a 13-episode Season 9. That said, it could have easily served as a satisfying end to the series. Though Mark Schwahn shot several cliffhangers to end the season on in case Season 9 got the green light, he ultimately decided to end with some closure.
The season ender spanned a year - so much time that Brooke Davis (Sophia Bush) went from having just learned of her pregnancy to giving birth to twin boys, Davis and Jude. Singer Jamie Scott and DJ Tommy D create a fresh sound on debut album Colours.

Back in 2008, Jamie Scott was a solo artist trying to gain attention for his simple, melodic folk tunes. But then a friend introduced him to producer and DJ Tommy D (who had already made a name for himself as a beatmaker for the likes of Kanye West, Jay-z and Alicia Keys), and though they came from drastically different backgrounds, the Brits managed to come together for a fresh, funky collaboration they call Graffiti6.
The group became an immediate hit in their home country with their debut single "Stare Into the Sun," and their first album Colours has gained an audience on the shores of the United States. The duo knew they had something right away, as "Stare Into the Sun" — a hit single in the U.

Get your first look at the all-new Sept. 21 episode!
I would have titled this post “Watch a bunch of boring side characters you don’t care about engage in a pointless conversation,” but then you wouldn’t have clicked on it! Either way, here’s a scene from next Tuesday’s (Sept. 21) all-new episode of One Tree Hill.
I think I speak for all loyal viewers when I say: Can we please not have so many scenes that center around Jamie Scott (Jackson Brundage?) He was a cute little 5-year-old when he was introduced at the start of season five, but over the past three years his cuteness gradually turned into sheer annoyance.
And don’t even get me started on how boring it is to watch Chase (Stephen Colletti) and Mia (Kate Voegele) hash out their snoozefest of a relationship.

An otherwise so-so season finale was totally saved by the last 10 minutes full of crazy twists!
Spoiler Alert! If you haven’t seen the May 17 season finale of One Tree Hill, Stop Reading! I had the pleasure of live-tweeting the madness for HollywoodLife.com, and I’d still appreciate someone helping me pick my jaw up off the floor. There’s no way this show isn’t going to get picked up for at least half a season in the fall — there’s Way too much story left to tell.
Clay & Quinn get shot!
I knew we hadn’t seen the last of crazy Katie (Amanda Schull!) In the episode’s final minutes, she appeared in Clay (Robert Buckley) and Quinn’s (Shantel VanSanten) bedroom with a gun! Without saying a word she shoots them both in the chest.
View Poll Julian finally proposes to Brooke!

He’s been described as “simply adorable,” but 9-year-old actor Jackson Brundage is much more than that – he is one of the most intelligent and giving young actors in the industry.
Jackson is best known for his role as Jamie Scott on CW Network’s hit show One Tree Hill, but has also recently turned heads with a role on NCIS. And for the last two years, he has attended the annual Cured charity fundraiser for children with Eosinophilic Disease, held in Arlington Heights.

One Tree Hill returned last night with a bevy of new faces.
Most notable among them is Robert Buckley, who made an instant impression as Clay. Are you buying his schtick as a sports agent? Or do you not even care, as long as he never wears a shirt?
One thing that remained the same, fortunately, were the abundance of great One Tree Hill quotes, from the silly to the profound. These were our favorite from last night:
Nathan: You're a good man, Jamie Scott.
Jamie: So are you, Dad. You're Nathan Scott. | permalink Nathan: Tell you what, instead of playing Horse, why don't we play a game of Lucas? | permalink Julian: You know what I wished for?
Brooke: What?
Julian: Skinny dipping. (Takes off his shirt) Are you coming or what?
Brooke: That's what she said. | permalink Brooke: Peyton used to say: people always leave. Who knew she was talking about her stupid ass?...
