Hulu’s “How I Met Your Mother” spinoff series “How I Met Your Father” debuted with its first two episodes Tuesday, paying tribute to the late Bob Saget, who narrated the original CBS sitcom that birthed the new Hilary Duff comedy.
At the end of the sitcom’s first installment, a title card reads “In Loving Memory of Bob Saget,” in honor of the comedian who voiced the older version of Josh Radnor’s Ted Mosby on all nine seasons of “How I Met Your Mother,” from 2005 to 2014.
Saget died on Jan. 9 at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Orlando, Fla. He was 65.
In a statement to Variety about the title card tribute, “How I Met Your Mother” and “How I Met Your Father” executive producers Craig Thomas, Carter Bays and Pam Fryman said, “The wit, the wisdom, and, above all, the kindness fans heard in Bob Saget’s voice (as Ted...

On Tuesday, the executive producers and stars of How I Met Your Father gathered for a virtual TCA panel teasing the Hulu series’ January 18 debut—noting that the series stemming from beloved CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother is not a reboot, as it has sometimes been described.
Per writer, EP and showrunner Isaac Aptaker of This Is Us fame, the new series is in fact a “standalone sequel,” with plenty to offer to both diehard fans of How I Met Your Mother and those who have never seen it.
“I think it’s important to know that we are our own show,” said the show’s star, Hilary Duff. “The original show was so amazing, [but we’re] trying to create something original, [while] stealing a few things from them that worked really well.”

Season 2 of Hulu’s comedy-drama series “Love, Victor” was recently released, giving fans another look into Victor’s life as he comes out as gay to his Catholic parents, further explores his queerness in a new relationship and possibly falls for another boy — all while navigating high school. And underscoring the show’s moving plot lines is a collection of original songs — most of which are from queer artists — that brilliantly soundtrack each heart-fluttering hand hold, emotional confession and rousing climax throughout the season.
Inspired by and set in the same world as the beloved movie “Love, Simon,” “Love, Victor” follows Michael Cimino as Victor, a half Puerto Rican, half Colombian American teen who is piecing together his identity as he juggles family, friendships and romantic interests.
George Sear stars as Victor’s main love interest, Benji, alongside Rachel Hilson, Anthony Turpel, Bebe Wood, Mason Gooding, Isabella Ferreira, Ana Ortiz and James Martinez.

It's taken a while but the How I Met Your Father TV series is finally being produced. Hulu has given the project a straight-to-series order and it will star Hilary Duff. The show comes from Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger.
How I Met Your Mother creators Craig Thomas & Carter Bays and Emily Spivey wrote a pilot for CBS back in 2014 but the project wasn't picked up. More than two years later, Aptaker and Berger took a try at it but the pair became unavailable when they were hired as This Is Us' showrunners. Alison Bennett wrote another version but it didn't make the cut either. Now, Hulu has revived the project with Aptaker and Berger as creators, writers, and executive producers. Bays and Thomas will also executive produce and Adam Londy will see as co-executive producer.

“Love, Victor” and “Taste the Nation With Padma Lakshmi” will be coming back for seconds.
Hulu announced at its summer TCA press tour day that both series have been picked up for season 2. The news comes less than two months after both shows debuted within a day of each other.
It also comes two days after Hulu canceled another freshman series in Zoe Kravitz rom-com “High Fidelity.” It’s particularly interesting that “High Fidelity” was given the boot and “Love, Victor” the nod, given that both shows made much-publicized moves from Disney Plus to Hulu amid a larger content shuffle between the two Disney-owned platforms.
