This Star Wars article contains spoilers.
The return of Asajj Ventress in Star Wars: The Bad Batch is an intriguing new mystery for fans, especially those who read of her death in the 2015 novel Dark Disciple by Christie Golden, which is set during the Clone Wars, right before the events of Revenge of the Sith. In that book, she sacrificed herself to save her lover, Jedi Master Quinlan Vos, from Count Dooku’s Force lightning, but just an in-universe year after her death, she’s somehow back and meeting up with Clone Force 99 on The Bad Batch.
So, what’s behind her resurrection? It’s a mystery with no answer from Star Wars. But plenty of theories…
How Is Asajj Ventress Back?
Unsurprisingly, the prevailing theory regarding her return from the grave goes back to a specific moment in Dark Disciple. In the book, she and Vos team up to try and kill Dooku.

In the last season of Fire Country, we witnessed the story of a young convict named Bode, who joined Edgewater as a firefighter at Three Rock Fire Camp. His hometown brings back many painful memories for him. He lost Riley, his sister, there in a car accident while he was driving. Also, he went to prison for an armed robbery he was involved in while staying there. Despite this, he decides to stay, partly because his mother, Sharon, is the chief of Station 42’s firefighting crew and is suffering from kidney disease. Also, he falls in love with a girl named Gabriela. As Bode is about to be released on parole from prison, he becomes entangled in prison politics. A fellow inmate named Sleeper brings drugs into the prison, and when Bode informs Manny, the supervisor of Three Rock Camp, Manny conducts a drug test among the inmates. Sleeper is arrested but threatens Bode.

A lot has changed in Edgewater while he was in the hoosegow, Bode observes in TVLine’s exclusive sneak peek from this Friday’s episode of CBS’ Fire Country.

After a nine-month hiatus between new installments, Fire Country Season 2 Episode 1 certainly delivered a lot of -- (forgive the pun) fireworks.
In fact, if your favorite thing about this show is its tendency to deliver absolutely bonkers twists and turns, then you might have thought that that was just the episode yet.
Hell, there was literally a prison knife fight that ended abruptly when an earthquake struck, and one of the combatants was crushed by a chunk of concrete ceiling.
But if you're a fan of Fire Country's more nuanced, subtle moments, then you might not like the direction in which this season is headed.
Either way, you're probably curious about how the writers will follow up such an eventful season premiere.
Well, you're in luck, because we've got all the advance info you need about what comes next for Bode Leone, Station 42, and the Three Rock crew.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers from the Fire Country Season 2 premiere, “Something’s Coming.”] Well, it didn’t take long for Bode (Max Thieriot) to find his way back to a position where he’ll be fighting fires on Fire Country. He just had to save Sleeper’s (Grant Harvey) life during an earthquake—after the other inmate promised to ‘fess up to the role he played in that doctored positive drug test. But he has just returned to Three Rock, the fire camp for inmates, and is already grappling with one surprise—that he may have a kid, Genevieve, with his high school ex-girlfriend Cara (Sabina Gadecki) she never told him about—when he gets hit with another. Gabriela (Stephanie Arcila), whom he’d told to forget about him, bursts in to tell Eve (Jules Latimer), now leading Three Rock, that she and Diego (Rafael De La Fuente) are engaged after both proposed. When Fire Country Season 1 Episode 22 aired way back in May of 2023, its controversial conclusion left fans divided.
The debut season of the hit CBS drama dragged its protagonists through hell and delivered some surprisingly satisfying character arcs -- only for the season finale to bring us right back to where Bode Leone's story began:
Bode's decision to take the fall for a drug ring landed him back behind bars and left viewers with the feeling that Fire County Season 2 might wind up rehashing the redemption narrative the show already explored in Season 1.
So, after a much longer-than-usual hiatus owing to the writers' and actors' strikes, did Fire Country Season 2 Episode 1 find a way to keep things fresh?
Well, the opening scene whips us around -- is Bode a free man already?! Has he earned his father's approval?! -- before revealing that we're in the well-trodden territory of the dream sequence.

When Fire Country EPs Tony Phelan and Joan Rater told TVLine that “everybody’s in a new place” when Season 2 opens, they were not kidding.
I mean, yes, of course, Bode is now back behind bars, where he has been misbehaving so as to get moved closer and closer to Sleeper’s cell block. But pretty much everyone else has experienced change either on the professional or personal front, in the six months that have passed since the events of the Season 1 finale.

This is not going to be an easy season for Bode (Max Thieriot) on Fire Country. He’s back in prison, after lying about being responsible for problems at Three Rock, the fire camp for inmates; rather, his nemesis Sleeper (Grant Harvey) was the one behind his positive drug test, but when Bode was told the issues were holding up Freddy’s (W. Tre Davis) release, he shocked everyone at his parole hearing with a different speech. Along with our previous teases from Thieriot about Bode in prison, his relationships with his parents Vince (Billy Burke) and Sharon (Diane Farr), love interest Gabriela (Stephanie Arcila), and former Three Rock captain Manny (Kevin Alejandro), we caught up with the star, executive producer and co-creator about what redemption looks like for his character, that secret Jake (Jordan Calloway) knows, and much more. But then it was upsetting enough that this woman left her hanging because of the conflict of interest, but after seeing what that moron did with Bode, I was livid regarding the Eve aspect too.

It was another thrilling hour on Fire Country Season 1 Episode 21 as Station 42 and Three Rock responded to a fire in a winery that ignited fires of their own in the characters' lives.
Our Fire Country Fanatics Jasmine, Dale, and Denis discuss the episode's greatest moments, including Bode's decision to join Cal Fire after he was paroled, Freddy's misfortune, and that cliffhanger.
They also grade the emergency.
Bode decided to join Cal Fire once he was paroled. What do you think about that?
Jasmine: It was the only choice. He’s been working his whole life to this point. It went from this thing he resisted to realizing it’s his goal and home, so this feels right and natural.
It’s also more his speed. I cannot envision him working at Nozzle. I also don’t feel like he’d get away with as much either, and he'd be expendable in their eyes.

There comes a time when you must make a stand no matter how hard the options are.
Many characters decided what they wanted on Fire Country Season 1 Episode 21 while a fire raged in a nearby winery.
Loyalties were tested, and convictions were overturned.
Being the Fire Country Season 1 penultimate episode, we expected a lot of development from the characters as the storyline for the second season materializes.
Bode's immediate concern was ensuring he was paroled, but other hanging issues kept pulling him back to his former life.
Caring for others is great, but sometimes you can put yourself on the line too much.
Everyone was almost sure that Bode would be paroled, which raised fears in other inmates who did not have that possibility. There was nothing Bode could have said to calm them down apart from imploring them not to make a decision they would regret.

We saw the departure of another villain on Fire Country Season 1 Episode 20 after Bode snitched on Slepeer.
Our Fire Country Fanatics Jasmine, Dale, and Denis discuss the implications of that decision, whether they think Sleeper left too quickly and if he will return.
They also discuss the episode's biggest moments, including Walter Leone, Manny's new offer, and how they would rate the emergency.
Bode snitched. React!
Jasmine: It was in everyone's best interest. Sleeper presented a problem and posed a threat bigger than Bode could manage, risking too many lives. It needed to happen.
Dale: I feel Gabriela got through to him so that he understood that he has to live by the rules of the outside world, not prison rules if he’s ever going to transition from inside to outside successfully.
That means doing the right thing, even if it might be construed as snitching by the other prisoners.

Some people thrive when there is conflict, so they can swoop in and play the good or neutral party.
Vince and Luke's father visited on Fire Country Season 1 Episode 20, and apart from his health problems giving everyone anxiety, his attitude did too.
Bode was confronted with a choice elsewhere, and whether he made the right one for himself remains to be seen.
His feud with Sleeper was a test. Life has a way of putting people in a position where they must make a choice that might affect the direction of their life.
Since he learned he was eligible for parole, Bode existed in two worlds. There was his current reality and environment, which demanded he plays by certain rules.
On the other side, a world was waiting for him that was opposite, and he wanted to be part of it so badly.
But whatever happens, Bode will always protect those he cares most about.

Jasmine: I hate him. But that's the point, and he at least elicits some feeling compared to Colin, who I would forget about if he wasn't onscreen. He's very cunning, manipulative, and convincing as a threat. He'll make a great antagonist to Three Rock, not just Bode.
Dale: I think he's a better villain than Colin, and the show needed a new bad guy for the rest of the season.

Gabriela realized she was changing to accommodate Bode's shortcomings and was faced with a decision to make.

Even with the ground being literally on fire, something was missing.
A new inmate firefighter arrived at Three Rock, and with his arrival, drugs started showing up in the camp on Fire Country Season 1 Episode 19. This prompted "Bode's bravado" to kick in as he sought to protect one of their own.
Elsewhere, Eve continued to struggle with losing Rebecca and the feelings that the incident brought up.
The biggest problem with the storylines this hour was that they were either too much or too little.
First up, the drugs.
It was revealed that Bode and Sleeper had some history during flashbacks. The problem with using flashbacks to catch the viewer up with the history between two characters is that it never quite feels big enough to warrant certain reactions.
Flashbacks work best when used to remind the viewer of an event from a past episode, one they watched, or...

The penultimate episode of The Big Reunion airs this evening on ITV2 (March 21), and we're already unsure as to how we will cope when 5ive, B*Witched, 911 and co are no longer entertaining us with their dark tales of '90s pop excess.
Abz from 5ive has become a hilarious must-watch figure of fun and the heartbreaking split between B*Witched's Lindsay and 911's Lee has been a weirdly emotional watch. The whole thing has had us digging out our old Live & Kicking magazines and wondering whatever happened to Let Loose.
The show's proved a hit for ITV2, so they're going to need to bring it back in some form in 2014. Digital Spy has five suggestions for Big Reunion spinoffs.

Welcome to the weekly Newsroom Poll, where we will give you a sneak peek into the lives and minds of some of the correspondents, writers, editors and producers here at MTVNews.com. Every week, they'll answer a poll question that will reveal some of what we talk about behind the scenes here in the newsroom. Enjoy!
This week, details surfaced about one of the most hotly anticipated albums of the fall. No, not Jay-z's The Blueprint 3 or Lil Wayne's Rebirth. We're talking about the soundtrack to "New Moon," which will likely feature contributions from Radiohead's Thom Yorke, Muse, Kings of Leon and Death Cab for Cutie. There was also the announcement of the soundtrack to "Jennifer's Body," the new Diablo Cody-penned horror film. With that, combined with the quarter-century anniversary of one of the finest film soundtracks ever constructed (that being Prince's Purple Rain), this week's question is:...
