"Jersey Shore" stars Snooki and JWoww certainly have strong opinions about the contenders in the Best Male Performance category at Sunday's 2012 MTV Movie Awards.
When the rowdy pair sat down with MTV News recently, they weighed in on the five equally fine guys duking it out at the show. And they've offered up some colorful commentary about some of the nominees.
Regarding Daniel Radcliffe, who is up for his work in the last "Harry Potter" flick, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2," JWoww said, "He's Harry — not literally."
Meanwhile, Snooki added, "He looks like he can party."

In today’s world of music entertainment, it's often easy to associate musicians and bands with a genre, even if the artists like to mix it up every now and then. Kids These Days, a seven-member band of teenagers from Chicago, have defied my ability to do this.
Three of the band's members dropped by MTV News recently while in town for a show to give us a chance to understand what lies behind their unique jazz-meets-alternative rock-meets-funk-meets-soul-meets-hip-hop-meets-pop sound.
"Traphouse Rock" vocalist and keyboardist Macie Stewart specified. "That's what we call our music. We just started jamming in [guitarist] Liam's basement. I don't think we ever consciously said let's put this all together, jazz, soul, rock. I think it just kind of came through because that's what we listen to, that's what we're a part of, and that's what came out in our playing."

Brooklyn, N.Y. – Underneath a starry sky on a warm summer night in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, Animal Collective took the stage for a nearly two hour set that left some fans highly satisfied with an outpouring of new material. While I found the setting and weather to be the perfect accompaniment for an Animal Collective concert, whose new wave, electronica, dreamy and arguably pop sound has garnered them a sizable following in the U.S., I could not stop wondering why I was having such a hard time getting into the mood of the show.
Considering it was seven songs before they played a recognizable crowd-pleaser, "Brother Sport," from their hit album, Merriweather Post Pavilion, I realized that I was not the only one having a difficult time adjusting to their new material.
"What is this song?" I heard mumbled from several fans in their late teens/early 20s.

Long before Britney Spears had any babies of her own, she was singing or sexily growling the word “baby” in her singles more than words like “the,” “and,” “of” and “to.” Well, that may not be true, but for an artist whose debut single saw the word “baby” used 26 times, Britney sure caught on to a one-word trademark with many of her greatest hits.
Overlooking the most common definition of the word “baby,” urbandictionary.com defines baby as “a person that you love a lot and want to call them a cute name.” Britney has had a few marriages and a few babies, so no one doubts she understands the urban definition of the term.
Take a look at our graph showing Britney’s use of the word “baby” in her biggest singles throughout her career. Notice any trends? Share them with us in the comments below!

This is my first year working as a production assistant at the MTV Movie Awards, and after a few days I've already learned that you've got to be ready for anything and everything. One minute you're sending an e-mail, and the next, you're working as a cheerleader.
No really, that's actually what happened to me. Just watch the video below from last night's Sneak Peek Week screening of "Horrible Bosses," a special event leading up to the Movie Awards, where we debut exclusive clips from upcoming movies followed by Q&As with castmembers.
See how the audience is applauding before stars Jason Sudeikis, Jason Batemen and director Seth Gordon discuss the film? That wouldn't have happened without me (and my fabulous co-worker Vaughn Schoonmaker). We were the ones standing in front of the stage furiously raising our arms up and down (it was kind of a work...

New York — Hundreds of screaming Little Monsters lined the streets surrounding Best Buy in New York City Monday night as they not only celebrated the release of Lady Gaga's Born This Way, but also waited to meet Mother Monster herself.
With gear in tow, many fans camped out for the opportunity to meet their idol, some waiting two nights just to get a wristband granting them access to the meet-and-greet album-signing event.
"Being a Little Monster is about letting out your inner freak," explained Jen Finnegan, an aspiring musician. "[It's letting out] everything that you are and everything that you want to be through Lady Gaga and her music."

The MTV Newsroom is not traditionally a place for religious fanaticism. But with Harold Camping and his followers making everyone (on the Internets, at least) think the world is ending on Saturday, we thought we'd hedge our bets. Here's how some MTV Newsers are spending their last hours on Earth:
Sabrina Rojas Weiss, editor: "I'm an escapist to the core — true story: I held a dance party at someone's death bed — so I'm not about to change my tune now. I'll actually be on a plane to an undisclosed tropical island on May 21, so if the world comes crumbling down, I will be listening to the new Fleet Foxes album (while picturing myself frolicking through a forest, of course. Oh, forests and old-fashioned harmonizing, I'll miss you), catching up on 'Friday Night Lights,' reading the latest Charlaine Harris novel (crap, will the world end before Sookie and Eric live happily ever after?...

Despite her astounding vocal and instrumental talents (she plays piano and guitar), the 24-year-old rising star may not have been sharing a stage with James Blunt this spring if it hadn't been for her song "Jar of Hearts" becoming an overnight sensation.

Kylie Minogue's Aphrodite tour wrapped its third consecutive night at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City Wednesday night to a packed house of mostly gay men, with about 5 percent of the audience consisting of her other Tri-State fans (though don't hold me to that for accuracy since it could have been more like 3 percent).
Kylie Minogue has mastered the art of walking in slow motion. Amidst her sultry hip swivels, belly dances and fairy-like arm gestures, the vivacious Australian made use of her enormous classical Rome-styled stage by walking up and down it in perfectly beautiful slow motion on quite a few occasions. While this may seem a minuscule observation, it grabbed my attention because it provided a great contrast to the dynamic and astonishing spectacles surrounding her throughout the dazzling two-hour set.

A couple weeks ago, I sat down with the boys of Mindless Behavior at Radio City Music Hall to learn who they are, what their band name means, and what fans might be able to expect in the next few years of their music career. As the opening act for Janet Jackson on her Number Ones Tour, the 13-year-old boys, Prodigy, Princeton, Ray Ray, and Roc Royal, were all smiles and incredibly humbled to be a part of the show. Click on the embedded video to check out Mindless Behavior and this is their Opening Act.
I found the boys to be anything but "mindless," as far as what I understood the word to mean prior to meeting them. Rather than a lack of knowledge or self-control, they explained to me that "mindless" is a lifestyle that means being true to yourself and ignoring pressure to act otherwise.

When the Foo Fighters sat down in a fan's backyard for "MTV First: Foo Fighters," MTV News' James Montgomery played back a tape to remind some of the band members about a special night out they shared with MTV back in 2000.
"I vaguely remember this," Foos frontman Dave Grohl said cautiously as the clip began.
The scene was set in an Ohio karaoke bar, where Grohl, Foos drummer Taylor Hawkins and Red Hot Chile Peppers drummer Chad Smith belted out some karaoke classics, including Sir Mix-a-Lot's "Baby Got Back," Ricky Martin's "Livin' La Vida Loca" and the Backstreet Boys' "I Want It That Way."
It appeared in the video that the drinks were flowing quite liberally, as Grohl was fountain-spitting mouthfuls of beer and Smith set himself up behind the bar. They also signed a bunch of autographs on various surfaces, including a woman's chest.

The Foo Fighters came to one lucky fan's house Thursday for "MTV First," where they premiered their "Rope" video and answered questions submitted on Twitter and in person.
When MTV News' James Montgomery asked the band about their fanbase, lead singer Dave Grohl described the diversity of those who fill up stadiums when the band is on tour.
"There's not one particular demographic. It's just people who dig rock music," Dave noted. "When we play gigs, it's a trip to stand there and look at the audience, because there'll be kids, like 5- or 6-year-old kids, and then there'll be like full-on mustache dads. And then there'll be like crazy Milf drunk mamas."

"I don't know what we're doing," Dave Grohl says, staring with a serious expression into the camera. "Because I don't know what I'm doing!"
Grohl probably really did know what he was doing as he directed the new Foo Fighters music video, "Rope," which premieres on MTV at 7:54 p.m. Et/Pt on Thursday (March 10), but he played up the modesty while giving a behind-the-scenes sneak peek at his work.
"Dave's paying attention to what's happening and watching the monitors, tweaking things here and there," explains the Foo Fighters bassist, Nate Mendel. "He comes up with the idea and maps it out and then you've got people to actually run the cameras that know what to do [with] all...

New York -- Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" video premiered on Monday (February 28), and, as many of her videos tend to do, it created some confusion among viewers. MTV News asked fans in New York City's Times Square for their reactions.
"It looks like she's giving birth to something," Angela Foreman suggested.
"She looks really slimy!" Amanda Russ squealed.
Another fan, Katie Doig, made the same observation as several of those we spoke to: "She's so bizarre, but she's great!"
The video features Gaga taking on various identities, both "good" and "evil," and is filled with dancing, kaleidoscopic imagery, protruding facial and shoulder horns and, of course, fashionably loud costumes and makeup.
"She looks strange," Foreman said about one scene. "Like a devil,...

Self-described "dark pop" singer Natalia Kills is not going to let you get away with being shallow on the dance floor.
"I don't want people to just dance to dance music, and the lyrics are about dancing in a club and taking shots," explained the 24-year-old Brit. Instead, she believes, "We should dance through a breakup. We should dance through the feelings, sadness, revenge."
When she moved to the United States to pursue her music career, Natalia met with producers including Akon and Justin Timberlake before finally teaming up with will.i.am and signing on to Interscope/ Cherrytree Records in 2008.
"Will.i.am is crazy!" Kills gushed of the Black Eyed Peas frontman. "He is on a different level to most creative human beings.

On Wednesday night, Terminal 5 in New York was transformed into a raging rainbow dancehall as a sold-out crowd danced its hearts out in an effort to keep up with Swedish pop star Robyn, who is promoting her upcoming album Body Talk.
The audience went mad as her introduction boomed from the speakers, with robotic voices being backed by a heavy beat. After her band, dressed in all white, took their places, the bleach-blonde star ran to the center of the stage and kicked off her 90-minute set with her single "Fembot." Powerful strobes counteracted psychedelic rainbow lights as Robyn bounced, spun, and air-punched her way through her vigorous rhythms.

There are many different elements that make up Katy Perry's widespread appeal, so it's no wonder that the the Windows Phone-sponsored free concert starring Perry drew quite a diverse crowd to the standing-room only Roseland Ballroom in New York on Monday night (November 8th). The floor was packed tight with tourists, tweens, young professionals, families and a few purple-wigged young men chanting "Lady Gaga shall prevail!"
(Click here for more photos from Katy Perry's performance at Roseland Ballroom!)
The moment the lights dimmed, everyone anxiously cheered for the pop princess regardless of their cultural alignment. The stage itself was straight out of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, complete with towering lollipops, gumdrops and peppermint sticks. Two men in formal attire wheeled an over-sized cake onto the stage as the crowd screamed with glee (as everybody knew darn well what was inside). After the backup singers finished...
