Ahna O'Reilly plays Steve Jobs' ex-girlfriend and the mother of his child in Jobs, the biopic starring Ashton Kutcher as the famous Apple co-founder. O'Reilly visited THR's video lounge before the film's release, and revealed the surprising way she got in tough with Chris-Ann Brennan. It turns out a childhood friend of O'Reilly's actually knew Brennan. "She was very honest about her reservations. She had not read the script, she didn't plan on reading the script, she wasn't necessarily very supportive of the idea of the film, but she did open up to me," says O'Reilly.

Ahna O'Reilly stars as Chris-Ann Brennan, Steve Jobs' college girlfriend and the mother of his daughter, in Jobs. Last night, at the movie's La premiere, Ahna told us what she learned about the Apple cofounder's "romantic" and "poetic" side through making this movie. She also admitted that Ashton Kutcher "scared" her at first with his all-in approach to the role!

The curtain closer at Sundance provides an overly reverential and saccharine view of a complex man possessed by ambition
Barely a year has passed since Steve Jobs died, aged 56, yet here we have the first of two biopics, completed in the nick of time, to close this year's Sundance film festival.
Director Joshua Michael Stern, working with first-time feature screenwriter Matt Whiteley, has his work cut out for him, given that it's an Aaron Sorkin-scripted flick that's to follow. No doubt wary of the fact, Stern opts to focus on arguably the most pivotal period in Jobs's life, from the time he dropped out of college and created Apple computers in his parents' garage, to the moment where the iPhone is poised to be unleashed on an unsuspecting world.
Casting a figure of such immense social and cultural import was never going to be easy. Kudos, then, to Ashton Kutcher who,...

We've all been wondering what it's going to be like to see Ashton Kutcher play Steve Jobs. Well, here's our first look at him in the role, along with Josh Gad as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. In the clip Jobs is trying to convince Wozniak that he thinks people would be interested in buying a personal computer. My first impression of the clip reminds me of a made for TV movie.
I will be seeing the film tomorrow at Sundance, we'll let you know how good or bad it is after we see it. In the meantime, here's the clip!
The movie was directed by Joshua Michael Stern (Swing Vote) and also stars Ahna O’Reilly as Jobs’ girlfriend Chris-Ann Brennan; Lukas Haas as Apple employee DanielKottke; Dermot Mulroney as former Apple CEO Mike Markkula; and Matthew Modine as former Apple CEO John Sculley. It will be released...

The Steve Jobs biopic, jOBS, is set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival this next week, and in anticipation of that two new photos have been released featuring Ashton Kutcher as Jobs, and they give us our first look at Josh Gad as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. When talking to USA Today Gad had this to say about Kutcher in the role...
There is an eerie resemblance — he didn't have to do much to get there. When he showed up, it sent a ripple of shock throughout the set. Everyone was like, 'We're in the presence of Jobs. Let's go do this.' It was literally like being in the room with the creator of Apple. This is one of those roles that's the perfect fit.

Open Road Films has picked up the distribution rights of Five Star Feature Films' Steve Jobs biopic, jOBS. The movie is set to premiere at The Sundance Film Festival later this month, but Open Road has announced that it will be released in theaters in April of 2013.
The movie was directed by Joshua Michael Stern (Swing Vote) and stars Ashton Kutcher as Jobs. He definitley looks the part, and it will be interesting to see if he can act his way through it. Mark Hulme of Five Star Feature Films had this to say in a statement,
We set out to find the perfect partners to present jOBS to audiences worldwide, and we feel we have found one with Open Road. They were as impressed as we were with Ashton Kutcher's inspiring and unforgettable performance as Steve Jobs and are excited to distribute the picture in the U.S.

Well, Ashton Kutcher certainly pulls off the look of Steve Jobs in the new movie jOBS. The question is, will he be able to pull off a solid performance? We'll find out soon enough. The movie is set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival next year, and we'll be there to see it and review it!
The movie is being directed by Joshua Michael Stern (Swing Vote), and I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out. I do like how Aaron Sorkins' vision of the man is going to be completely different than this one. This one is more of a typical biopic, the one Sorkin is writing will be told in three scenes at three different Keynote events in his career. I do hope that both movies end up being good, but I'm more interested in Sorkin's take on the man.
Here's a comparable picture of the real Jobs.

Some more photos have surfaced from the set of the indie film jOBS showing us Ashton Kutcher as an older Steve Jobs. As you can see he's sporting the signature glasses that Jobs used to wear. It has yet to be seen how good of an actor Kutcher turns out to be in this movie, but he most definitely looks the part!

A ton of new photos from the set of the Joshua Michael Stern's Steve Jobs biopic jOBS have leaked all over the web. And thanks to our friends over at /Film we get to bring the hunted and gathered bunch of 'em. The pics of course include more of Ashton Kutcher looking uncannily like the title character (which we already knew from the first set photos). But with this new batch we get our first looks at Josh Gad as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak; Ahna O’Reilly as Jobs’ girlfriend Chris-Ann Brennan; Lukas Haas as Apple employee Daniel Kottke; Dermot Mulroney as former Apple CEO Mike Markkula; and Matthew Modine as former Apple CEO John Sculley. The mystery though is who is the actor playing the young Bill Gates??? Or at least who we think is Bill Gates. I don't know who else that could be though. The...

Okay, we get it already, Ashton Kutcher is sort of the perfect casting choice for a young Steve Jobs.
After he was cast in the upcoming Jobs biopic that's been appropriately titled "jOBS," we've seen plenty of pictures pop up online comparing the "Two and a Half Men" star to a younger version of the Apple co-founder. We'll admit, it's hard to deny the striking resemblance. Now some photos from the Los Altos set of "jOBS" have hit the web, and it turns out that the crew has made great casting decisions across the board.
Chief among them are Josh Gad as Apple's other co-founder, Steve Wozniak; Ahna O'Reilly as Jobs' first serious girlfriend, Chris-Ann Brennan; Dermot Mulroney as the second Apple CEO, Mike Markkula and some unnamed actor as a very convincing Bill Gates. The shots of these stars on set show us that Kutcher isn't...

A few unorthodox period pieces/biopics are taking form in Steven Soderbergh’s “Behind the Candelabra,” Randal Miller’s “Cbgb” and "Jobs" with Ashton Kutcher. And all three are lining up some impressive ensemble casts, so let’s see who is taking over some coveted roles.
First, we broke the news yesterday that Rob Lowe, Cheyenne Jackson and Boyd Holbrook had joined Soderbergh’s farewell film, the Liberace biopic "Behind the Candelabra." The long gestating project has had Michael Douglas in the role of the flamboyant performer Liberace, with Matt Damon in the role of Michael Thorson for a while now, with Dan Aykroyd and Debbie Reynolds also on board. And more are coming. Soderbergh's “The Informant” actor Scott Bakula will be joining the cast to play Liberace's friend Bob Black. That’s not all though, Nicky Katt – who is no stranger to working with Soderbergh either after being...

I’ll be honest: I only associate Dermot Mulroney with his very funny, very bizarre cameo in Burn After Reading — probably because it was, at the time, all I had actually seen him in — a mental pairing that made his (altogether good) work in The Grey a bit hard to appreciate. My point being? Maybe there isn’t a larger point, actually. Other than “I really like talking about Burn After Reading.”
Sadly, though, we’re not hear to discuss one of the Coen brothers‘ finer comedies; the point of discussion is the Steve Jobs biopic, Jobs, which Mulroney has just made himself a member of. Deadline reports that, for director Joshua Michael Stern, he’ll appear as Mike Markkula, an early investor in Apple who “believes in the vision Jobs displays, but is torn between the wunderkind and the board.” (Spoiler: He went with the board.) Much like Matthew Modine‘s role — John Sculley,...

Despite it’s truly awful title, Joshua Michael Stern’s indie biopic of Steve Jobs is going to continue to get attention. Despite Ashton Kutcher‘s lack of dramatic chops (as far as we can tell), he does bear a striking resemblance to the young Apple founder. So despite itself, there may be plenty to talk about in the months to come as jOBS continues its production. Today brings a number of new photos from the set, including looks at Josh Gad as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak; Ahna O’Reilly as Jobs’ girlfriend Chris-Ann Brennan; Lukas Haas as early Apple employee Daniel Kottke; and Dermot Mulroney as former Apple CEO Mike Markkula, who will ultimately serve as the villain of this particular story. The folks at /Film were kind enough to assemble a gallery, from which we’ve selected a few winners and placed them below for your viewing pleasure.

Exclusive: Dermot Mulroney has made two moves. He has signed with Wme, leaving ICM Partners after a long run and an even longer one, 18 years, with agent Carol Bodie. He has also joined the cast of Jobs, the indie film about the Apple icon Steve Jobs. Mulroney will play Mike Markkula, who believes in the vision Jobs displays, but is torn between the wunderkind and the board. Scripted by Matt Whiteley and directed by Joshua Michael Stern, the film stars Ashton Kutcher as Jobs, The Book of Mormon‘s Josh Gad as Steve Wozniak, Lukas Haas as Kotke and Ahna O’Reilly as Chris-Ann Brennan. Mark Hulme and Gil Cates Jr. are producing.

Though it's currently labouring under the awkward title jOBS, the first Steve Jobs biopic to make it out of the gate – which would be the indie starring Ashton Kutcher as the young Jobs – is now filming. And the latest cast member has been announced, with Dermot Mulroney signing on as Mike Markkula. As the earliest investor in the embryonic Apple company being nurtured by Jobs and partner Steve Wozniak (played in the film by Josh Gad), Markkula became the third person to join it after the co-founders. He brought not just cold, hard cash, but business expertise and technical skill, helping to craft some of the nascent software. But in later years, the tension within Apple over, in particular, Markkula siding with board members against Jobs, led the latter to leave the company he helped create in 1985.Matt Whitely has written the script, with Swing Vote’s Joshua Michael Stern directing.

According to secret Pentagon files, the deceased Steve Jobs feared for the life of his daughter! Before he passed away, Apple Co-Founder Steve Jobs was worried a criminal would kidnap his daughter, Lisa Brennan-Jobs, in order to blackmail him for cash. According to a report from the Daily Mail, Steve disclosed his fears for his daughter he had out of wedlock, in the background check questionnaire he completed to gain top secret security clearance with the government. It's an interesting turn of events after Steve denied paternity to his girlfriend Chris Ann Brennan for the first two years after Lisa was born. The documents revealed that interviewees also commented that, in the past, Steve was not supportive of Chris Ann and their daughter; however, Steve had eventually become more supportive. In an interview in 1988 Steve, who died in October after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer, said, "The type...

Back in 1999 TNT aired a made-for-tv movie called Pirates of Silicon Valley, which told the story of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates' ascension to becoming the tech-icons we now know them to be. Part of Jobs' side of the story included his relationship with his high school girlfriend and the birth of his first child Lisa in 1978. This part of Jobs' life will apparently be explored to some extent in the upcoming Joshua Michael Stern indie biopic Jobs, as the role of Chris-Ann Brennan has been cast. To avoid any confusion before we proceed, Jobs is based on a script by Matt Whiteley, and is set to star Ashton Kutcher and Josh Gad as Jobs and Steve Wozniak respectively. This is not to be confused with Sony's promising-looking biopic, Steve Jobs, which will be penned by Aaron Sorkin. According to Variety, Ahna O'Reilly has been tapped to play Brennan,...

Her shot at playing Linda Lovelace probably didn’t go as planned, so it’s time for Malin Akerman to take on a classier figure — if Blondie can be considered “classy” in the first place. ShowBlitz has learned that the actress will be seen as the ’80s icon for Cbgb, an account of the infamous New York City rock club and its owner, Hilly Kristal, who Alan Rickman will inhabit; his Harry Potter co-star, Rupert Grint, is expected to play Dead Boys guitarist Cheetah Chrome.
Past reports have indicated that these three will be the central figures of Cbgb, and when one looks over the club’s history — in terms of performers, events, and societal significance — you get some idea of the scope director Randall Miller (Bottle Shock, Nobel Son) will be aiming for. His own, prior credits give me a bit of pause, even if Rickman likes him, but...
