In a season of sequels, franchises, and bloated blockbusters, Ana Lily Amirpour‘s “The Bad Batch” feels like a cinematic oasis. The director behind “A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night” returns with a bold, post-apocalyptic vision, but one that isn’t afraid to have some groove to it as well.
Starring Suki Waterhouse, Jason Momoa, Keanu Reeves, and Giovanni Ribisi, the film is set in a dystopian future United States, in which a young girl condemned to wander a desert wasteland is captured by a community of cannibals.

Boy George is set to be released from prison. The Culture Club singer is reportedly being freed from Edmunds Hill jail in Suffolk next week after serving four months of his 15-month sentence for falsely imprisoning a male escort. George is being let early after due to good behaviour - he pleased staff by taking on a job in the prison canteen - but other inmates are unhappy at the decision, claiming he has received special treatment. One said: "George is getting out of here in the shortest possible time. He's been a good prisoner like a lot of us, but he does seem to have been treated with kid gloves and it's caused jealousy." The 47-year-old star...

Did Bush man Gavin Rossdale have a relationship with another male singer back in the free-wheeling 80s? In Touch magazine reports that Peter Robinson—better known as "Calling Your Name" singer Marilyn—has broken his silence about his supposed affair with Gwen Stefani's husband. "He was the love of my life," Robinson says of Rossdale, pictured above right with the singer. Though Culture Club singer Boy George—who frequented the London club scene with Marilyn back in the day—made the claim that Rossdale and Marilyn were an item in his 1995 autobiography, Take It Like a Man, Rossdale pooh-poohed the allegation. "I wasn't dating Marilyn," Rossdale retorted..

As we reported back in March of last year, there was a planned film about Hannibal Smith and his team of former special forces soldiers aka "The A-Team."
Back then we reported:
Twentieth Century Fox announced the "A-Team" film will be released on June 12, 2009.
It will be directed by John Singleton, from a script by writing partners Michael Brandt and Derek Haas ("Wanted," "3:10 to Yuma").
Now, the flick will be released on summer of 2010 with an impressive behind-the-scenes pedigree.
According to Variety,
Studio has set Joe Carnahan to direct and Ridley Scott to produce, with Tony Scott exec producing through their Scott Free banner.
Also producing are Jules Daly and Stephen J. Cannell, the latter of whom created the original TV series.
Carnahan will team with Brian Bloom to polish a script by Skip Woods ("G.I. Joe"). The intention is to start production by June for a June 11, 2010, release.

Boy George's troubles with the law took a serious turn in a London courtroom Friday when a judge sentenced the '80s pop idol to 15 months in jail for falsely imprisoning a male escort at his home in 2007. Judge David Radford told the former Culture Club singer (whose real name is George O'Dowd) he was guilty of "gratuitous violence" for handcuffing and beating with a chain a 29-year-old Norwegian man he had met online and invited to his London apartment for a nude photo shoot, Britain's Press Association reports. The incident occurred after the Norwegian, Audun Carlsen, attempted to escape.

Former Culture Club frontman Boy George has been jailed for 15 months for the false imprisonment of a male escort.
The singer - real name George O'Dowd - was convicted in December of chaining Norwegian Audun Carlsen to a hook in a bedroom at his east London apartment in April 2007 after suspecting the escort of tampering with his computer.
O'Dowd, 47, denied the charge and claimed he lawfully detained Carlsen for allegedly stealing photos from his laptop.
Judge David Radford slammed the singer during the hearing at London's Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday, claiming he was guilty of "gratuitous violence".
Judge Radford told the court, "Whilst I accept that Mr Carlsen's physical injuries were not serious or permanent, in my view there can be no doubt that your premeditated callous and humiliating handcuffing and detention of Mr Carlsen shocked, degraded and traumatised him.
"He was deprived of his liberty and human dignity without warning or proper explanation to him of its purpose, length or purported justification."
The star was sentenced to 15 months behind bars and ordered to pay $7,250 (GBP5,000) costs.
O'Dowd's solicitor, Steven Barker, says, "George is on the road to recovery, I sincerely hope this sentence does not knock him back."...

Looks like Boy George is headed to the big house. The former Culture Club frontman (real name George O'Dowd), who was found guilty of really wanting to hurt a Norwegian male escort in early December, was sentenced today to 15 months in prison. The judge who presided over his case, David Radford, decided to make good on the promise he made when Boy George was convicted--Judge Radford told him in December, "The fact that your bail is being continued does not imply that this will be dealt with by a non-custodial sentence. Boy George has been sentenced to jail for 15 months. A judge has ordered the 80s pop star to the slammer for assaulting and falsely imprisoning a male prostitute in his London home.
The "Karma Chameleon" hitmaker - real name George Alan O'Dowd - was convicted of falsely imprisoning 29-year-old Norwegian Auden Carlsen in his apartment in April 2007. The singer admitted to handcuffing him to a wall but only did so because Carlsen stole photos from his laptop.
O'Dowd and Carlsen first met through a gay social networking site. The former Culture Club frontman believed that the male escort stole data from his laptop when they met for a photo shoot.
Weeks later, O'Dowd invited Carlsen back to his apartment and he and a second man chained Carlsen to his bed and beat him. Carlsen said he was handcuffed to the bed but managed to escape and ran from the premises.

Boy George refused to give evidence at his false imprisonment trial to protect his dying mother.
