Iosif Boyarskiy is Soviet animator, cinematographer, director of the Soyuzmultfilm studio puppet association. Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation (1998). During his management of production at the Soyuzmultfilm puppet association, famous USSR doll projects were made: Cheburashka (1971), 38 Parrots (1976), Varezhka (1967), My Green Crocodile (1966), etc. In 1936, Iosif Boyarskiy was drafted into the army and sent to the Leningrad Military Aviation School. During World War II, he served at the Voroshilovgrad Aviation School, was evacuated to the city of Uralsk. In 1945, he was demobilized and enlisted as an administrator in Soyuzdetfilm, later became a senior administrator, and then deputy director of the film-studio. 1951 - Senior Administrator of Yerevan Film Studio. In 1951-1956 Boyarskiy worked as an organizer of production and assistant of director of popular science films of the Sverdlovsk film studio. In 1956, he organized and directed an advertising studio at the General Directorate of Rostorgreklamma. In 1963-1978 Boyarskiy was director of creative association of puppet films of the film studio. In 1979-2000, he headed the faculty of directors of animated films of the Higher Courses of Scriptwriters and Directors.
