Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista has landed another film project. It's an action comedy called Dogtown and it's based on the long-running comic book series Body Bags. The script for the film is being written by Kyle Ward, who also wrote the script for John Wick: Chapter 2.
The stylized and irreverent comic was created by Jason Pearson. Bautista will take on the role of Mack Delgado, "a professional bounty hunter tough enough to be called a "body bagger." Things take a turn for him when the teenage daughter he never knew he had turns up on his doorstep, hoping to reconnect with the father she lost long ago."
The movie is being produced by Bold Films and producer Gary Michael Walters had this to say in a statement:

The promotional snippets for Underworld: Blood Wars have been coming thick and fast ahead of the movie’s January 6th release date, and so far, have kept very much to intrigue and action-based ‘money shots.’ Just two days ago, an international trailer appeared, and reshuffled much of what we’ve already been teased with. Now, we’re moving into the closing stages of this marketing campaign, and it seems that Screen Gems have decided to leave it all on the trailer screen.
The Underworld franchise has been one of the more lucrative female-led action film series, with a total worldwide box office haul of $458.5 million from four films. The most recent instalment – 2012’s Underworld Awakening – generated the biggest box office, with $160.1 million. Screen Gems are undoubtedly hoping that this upward financial trend continues and, if the stunning scenes in the trailer are anything to go by, it could well move in that direction.

Sony’s attempt to turn the Uncharted game series from PlayStation success into potential movie franchise just can’t seem to get past the loading screen. In another blow for the project, director Seth Gordon has decided to move on. Treasure hunter Nathan Drake would seem to be a good fit for cinema, with his Indiana Jones-style attitude and scope for adventure. But try as it might, the studio just hasn’t been able to make it work. Writers such as Kyle Ward, David O. Russell (who also wanted to direct), Marianne and Cormac Wibberley, David Guggenheim and Mark Boal have all tried to crack it and Neil Burger briefly considered directing before heading off to do Divergent. What’s the hold up this time? As originally reported by Heroic Hollywood, it’s apparently financial issues, as Sony boss Tom Rothman wants to change the creative direction of the film...

"He's an engineered human being. Strong. Faster. And more intelligent than normal people." Imagine if The Bourne Identity was a mindless action movie. You should be picturing this first trailer for Hitman: Agent 47, the latest attempt to bring the popular video game franchise to the big screen. This time, Rupert Friend plays the title assassin who starts to learn about his origins in the middle of a bunch of explosions and crazy action. This just looks like cookie-cutter silliness, but enough so that it might be fun. However, the script just sounds awful even from the little dialogue in the film, with one egregious theft form Watchmen. Here's the first trailer for Aleksander Bach's Hitman: Agent 47, originally from Apple: Hitman: Agent 47 is directed by Aleksander Bach, making his feature directorial debut with a script from Kyle Ward (Machete Kills), Skip Woods (The A-Team) and Michael Finch...

Daniel Simon’s book Cosmic Motors details the elaborate design of unique futuristic vehicles, revealing 3D models and other renderings of spaceships, racing cars, warships, balloons and more. It’s a neat science fiction art collection from our pals at Titan Books. Simon knows a thing or two about vehicle design, having worked on Tron: Uprising and Captain America: The First Avenger. Now Michael Bay is adapting Simon’s book for the big screen. Variety reports that Bay and Warner Bros. have hired Kyle Ward to pen the screenplay. He recently completed work on Underworld V and is currently writing Arabian Knights for Universal. Bay is producing Cosmic Motors. Michael Bay is certainly no stranger to making movies based around shiny vehicles - that was basically the impetus behind all four Transformer titles. And while the director has said that he won't be back for the inevitable Transformers 5, that doesn't mean he's done playing around with flashy cars. Enter Cosmic Motors, a new film based on an adaptation of a concept art book that Bay is now producing and shepherding to the big screen. Cosmic Motors was written by Daniel Simon and first published back in 2007, but is only now on the fast track to become a movie, thanks to a partnership between Michael Bay and Warner Bros. Thought it's not yet clear exactly how the film will function story-wise, Kyle Ward has been brought on to pen the screenplay. His previous credits include the Robert Rodriguez-directed sequel Machete Kills, as well as the upcoming Hitman sequel Agent 47.

Michael Bay's Cosmic Motors has signed writer Kyle Ward.
The Machete Kills writer has joined Warner Bros' sci-fi project, reports Variety.
Bay is producing the adaptation of Daniel Simon's 2007 concept art book of the same name, which features designs for classic and futuristic vehicles.
The text alludes to an overarching world, but is not presented as an ongoing narrative.
Simon has worked as a car designer for Lamborghini and Bugatti, and on films including Tron: Uprising, Captain America: The First Avenger and Oblivion.
Ward also wrote the upcoming Hitman movie Agent 47.
Cosmic Motors is yet to sign a director.

Whether or not Michael Bay ends up directing Transformers 5, high-concept sci-fi vehicles are clearly still a part of his future. He's currently in the process of setting up Cosmic Motors at Warner Bros., a film based on Daniel Simon's book of lavish concept art. Kyle Ward, who wrote Machete Kills and the new Hitman movie Agent 47, has been tasked with creating the screenplay.Ward will also need to come up with a narrative on which to hang it, since Cosmic Motors in book form is more about concept than story. If you weren’t already convinced that Homeland actor Rupert Friend looked the part of the bald, unnamed assassin at the heart of upcoming video game adaptation Hitman: Agent 47, here’s a new pic that directly compares the actor to his computer-generated counterpart. Thoughts?
Friend definitely looks drastically different from how he did as a different assassin, CIA operative Peter Quinn, on Homeland, but no actual footage has slipped out of Comic-Con yet from the film, so it would be wise to reserve judgment for a while.
On paper, Hitman: Agent 47 does seem like it could be an entertaining, undemanding actioner. It’s adapted from a popular video game franchise, centers on a genetically engineered assassin taking on a dangerous mission and co-stars Hannah Ware, Zachary Quinto, Thomas Kretschmann and Ciaran Hinds. So long as the movie doesn’t fall prey to the video game adaptation trope of convoluted,...

Comic-Con came and went, and one of the less buzzy films highlighted there was 20th Century Fox’s upcoming Hitman: Agent 47, which finds Rupert Friend, of Showtime’s Homeland, stepping into the title role of a nameless assassin. We don’t know too much about the plot of this video game adaptation, though it’s a safe bet that Agent 47 and Quinto’s baddie trade blows and bullets over Ware’s mysterious Katia van Dees.

Video game adaptations are notoriously tricky to make – and as a result of that, they’re often quite bad. There have been a few decent entries in the action subgenre (Resident Evil comes to mind), but typically, the films are marred by subpar acting and ludicrous plotting. 2007′s Hitman, which starred Timothy Olyphant as the titular assassin, wasn’t one of the worst video game movies, to be sure, but it suffered from an overly convoluted story. It also seems like an unlikely title to make a sequel to – and yet here we are today, with Hitman: Agent 47 on the way from 20th Century Fox.

The late Paul Walker was originally attached to star in Agent 47, but following his tragic death last year, 20th Century Fox decided to recast the titular role and chose Homeland’s Rupert Friend.
Agent 47 is a reboot of Hitman (which starred Justified’s Timothy Olyphant as the lead character and grossed over $100 million worldwide back in 2007). The movie is based on the hit video game franchise from Square Enix, and this take on the bald assassin was shot in a number of locations including Berlin and Singapore.

Video-game adaptations are a dime a dozen, but it’s rare that any of them are worth even a cursory glance. The Resident Evil franchise, BloodRayne and Silent Hill are just a few of many that have fallen completely flat in their attempts to replicate the thrills of their source material on the big screen. However, based on casting alone, 20th Century Fox’s upcoming Hitman remake Agent 47 may actually be worth checking out.
With Homeland actor Rupert Friend stepping into the title role (replacing the late Paul Walker), and Zachary Quinto set to play the main villain, Agent 47 already has more going for it than most video-game adaptations. Now, it looks like the film will boast more than one baddie, with news that Thomas Kretschmann has signed on to play Le Clerq, the chairman of an nefarious organization called Syndicate International, which schemes to build its own army of assassins.

Zachary Quinto and Hannah Ware (Shame) co-star and as of right now there isn't a plot synopsis available or even a planned release date, though 2015 seems likely (or the dumping ground of early 2016) as production is currently underway with the first picture of Friend in costume has arrived online. The video game series revolves around Agent 47 (Friend), a cloned assassin-for-hire, whose flawless record places him in high demand among the wealthy and elite.

I’ve always been a fan of Robert Rodriguez whether it was Desperado and its sequel or From Dusk Till Dawn, maybe even the Spy Kids movies or Planet Terror. Machete was a film that was born out of a fake Grindhouse trailer and it got the joke, it set the tone correctly and felt just right, flaws and all. Machete Kills is the continuation of the idea and for the most part should work, but how long can the joke go on?
In Machete Kills we again see Danny Trejo as the almost invincible hero as he enters Mexico to kill Marcos Mendez (Demian Bichir) a revolutionary and threat to the USA.

Hannah Ware will play the female lead in the Fox’s Agent 47. The pic already stars Rupert Friend and Zachary Quinto.
Directed by Aleksander Bach, from a script by Kyle Ward, Skip Woods and Michael Finch, Agent 47 is based on the bestselling video game “Hitman,” which has sold 21 million units to date. The latest and most successful edition, this year’s “Hitman: Absolution,” has sold 10 million units.

Though he broke through with video game documentary The King Of Kong, Seth Gordon’s resulting career has so far been largely limited to comedies such as Horrible Bosses and Identity Thief. Now Sony could be about to change that, as the studio is negotiating to have him tackle the adaptation of Uncharted. The PlayStation game series has been a tough nut to crack cinematically for years now. Originally targeted as the possible launching point for a film franchise in 2009, Kyle Ward was hired to work on a script that would adapt Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.A year later, the big news was that David O. Russell, a man not previously known as a would-be game adaptor, had signed on to give it a whack, with his then-favourite leading man, Mark Wahlberg lined up as Nathan Drake. After the late Paul Walker’s tragic passing, studios have been scrambling to recast his roles. Agent 47, originally thought to be a reboot of Hitman, but later confirmed to be a sequel, is one such film that needed to hire a new assassin.
Luckily, an already seasoned killer has been signed in the form of Homeland star Rupert Friend. In Showtime’s hit show, Friend’s character Peter Quinn is a black ops officer well-versed in the language of killing silently, a mindset that will help in reinventing the bald elite assassin in Agent 47.
With Walker’s passing, a major film star will not be present. However, 20th Century Fox is confident that the popularity of the franchise will be enough to rake in the dough. And who knows, Friend might be so convincing that audiences will flock to the theaters to see him in action. Only time will tell.

While Universal has figured out they will be pushing back the release and Fast & Furious 7 to 2015, due to the untimely and tragic death of franchise star Paul Walker (who will be retired, and not killed off, in the sequel), there are a couple other projects which had the actor lined up to star that needed to be sorted out as well. Fox International had Walker slated to star in the action thriller Agent 47 (a sequel to Hitman starring Timothy Olyphant), and Relativity had the actor taking on romance in the adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' bestselling novel The Best of Me. Now two other actors have been hired to take over those roles. On the action front, THR reports Fox International has decided to give "Homeland" star Rupert Friend the lead role in the sequel scripted by A Good Day to Die Hard writer Skip Woods, Kyle Ward and Michael Finch.

While many have had issues with the second and third seasons of Showtime's "Homeland," one element that has often scored unanimous praise has been Rupert Friend's Peter Quinn character.
Now Friend is in talks to replace Paul Walker as the star of 20th Century Fox's "Agent 47," the reboot of the "Hitman" film franchise which is based on the best-selling video game series.
The previous Timothy Olyphant-led 2007 film grossed $100 million worldwide. Walker had planned to star in this reboot once he wrapped "Fast and Furious 7," but he was killed in a tragic car crash midway through filming 'Fast'.

Following the sudden death of Paul Walker late last year, many of the actor's film projects were put in limbo. Now one of them, "Agent 47," may have found a replacement for its late, would-be lead.
TheWrap reports that Rupert Friend (star of Showtime drama "Homeland" and several British period pieces, including "Young Victoria" and "Pride & Prejudice") is in talks to take on Walker's role as the star of "47," a reboot of 2007's "Hitman," which starred Timothy Olyphant. Walker was set to shoot the flick after he wrapped production on "Fast and Furious 7," but was killed in a car crash in November.
Per TheWrap's description, "Agent 47" follows a "famed assassin who boasts a barcode tattoo on the back of his head." Its plot is taken from a popular video game series.

Last February, it was revealed that Paul Walker had signed up to play Agent 47 in 20th Century Fox’s reboot of Hitman (which starred Justified’s Timothy Olyphant in the title role and grossed over $100 million worldwide back in 2007). Based on the hit video game franchise from Square Enix, this take on the bald assassin was set to be shot in Berlin and Singapore.
At the time of of Walker’s tragic death last year, there was little to no mention of Agent 47 as the media mainly focused on what would happen to Fast & Furious 7, a movie which he was in the middle of shooting. However, the studio are clearly still keen on putting the project into development as The Wrap reports that Homeland’s Rupert Friend (who plays Peter Quinn in the critically acclaimed Showtime series) is now nearing a deal to take on the role of Agent 47.

The fallout from Paul Walker’s tragic death last year continues to be felt in the projects to which he was attached. The studio has moved to find a new leading man, with Homeland’s Rupert Friend in talks.Ads director Aleksander Bach is still planning to make his feature debut with the film, which has seen script input from original writer Skip Woods plus Kyle Ward and Michael Finch. The basic elements should remain the same, with the plot focused on the bald-bonced titular agent who boasts a barcode tattoo on the back of his head and who carries out highly skilled assassinations. Despite apparent commitments from Jamie Foxx and Bruce Willis and posters plastered up across the Cannes Film Festival back in 2010, the adaptation of videogame action thriller Kane & Lynch got lost in development. We wondered if we’d seen the last of it, but it’s come surging back with Gerard Butler in talks to play Kane for his Law Abiding Citizen director F. Gary Gray.Gray’s been attached for at least a couple of years now, but things have been moving slowly for the film as it waxed and waned. The production company combo Millennium / Nu Image, however, are now confident it can be brought back from limbo, and have Vin Diesel pondering an offer to co-star, though he has yet to even enter talks. If they do both make deals, Butler and Diesel would play tough death row inmates who are sprung from prison to hunt down a stolen fortune.

We finally have some news on the long-gestating adaptation of Eidos Interactive’s Kane & Lynch video game series. Though the project was first announced several years ago, numerous delays have held it back from entering production.
If I recall correctly, Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx were originally attached, with F. Gary Gray set to direct. Now it seems as if things have completely changed. Gray is still in the director’s seat, but Foxx and Willis are out. Instead, Gerard Butler is being eyed for Kane and Vin Diesel is being looked at for Lynch.
Skip Woods (A Good Day To Die Hard) and Kyle Ward (Machete Kills) are behind the script for this one, which will follow the titular criminals, one a death row inmate and one a schizophrenic killer. Together, they team up to find a “stolen fortune” as well as save Kane’s wife and daughter.

Gerard Butler is in talks to star as Kane in the film adaptation of the "Kane and Lynch" video game franchise at Nu Image/Millennium Films.

The Kane & Lynch movie is apparently back one. The film will be produced by Nu Image/Millennium Films, the latter whom Butler resparked his career with Olympus Has Fallen. F.
