Comedy duo Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele are bringing their humour to the big screen in more concentrated fashion with oddball comedy Keanu. They’ve rounded up a fair ensemble already and are now adding Nia Long and Jason Mitchell. The pair, whose Key & Peele show regularly has spawned several viral videos while doing good business on Us TV’s Comedy Central, is behind the new idea, which Peele wrote with Alex Ruben. The story, nothing – one assumes, at least – to do with the John Wick star, finds the duo as part of a group of friends who must retrieve a stolen cat. But instead of heading to the police station, they pose as gangsters and drug dealers, because that’s apparently how you should really try to find stolen pets or anything else. We’re fairly certain that plotline was in an early draft of Paddington. Long is apparently...

West Coast rap is coming back next summer with N.W.A. biopic "Straight Outta Compton." And the cast for the F. Gary Gray movie just keeps getting bigger. "Short Term 12" star Keith Stanfield (who showed off his rap skills in the indie flick) has joined the movie, taking on the role of hip hop titan Snoop Dogg. Those are some big shoes to fill. He joins a cast that includes O'Shea Jackson Jr., Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, Aldis Hodge and Neil Brown Jr. as N.W.A., with Paul Giamatti as their manager. The movie hits the streets on August 14, 2015. [The Wrap] Mary Elizabeth Winstead will face the end of the world in "The Cellar." Things are looking pretty solid for erstwhile N.W.A.ers Dr. Dre and Ice Cube these days. Biopics about famous musicians are all too common, but what makes Straight Outta Compton stand out isn't just that it's about controversial '80s rap group N.W.A., but that it's being produced by the surviving members of N.W.A. themselves. And if that weren't a close enough connection between the subjects and the movie about them, Ice Cube is actually being portrayed by his real son, O'Shea Jackson Jr., in the movie. Starting from the top left corner and going counterclockwise, we have Ice Cube, his son O'Shea Jackson Jr. as '80s Ice Cube, Jason Mitchell as Eazy-e, Corey Hawkins as Dr. Dre., the real Dr. Dre, and lastly director F. Gary Gray (who got his big break when he directed Ice Cube in Friday) in the middle. Straight Outta Compton will...

Universal Pictures has released this first look photo from Straight Outta Compton. Count on this to be the sleeper hit of next summer!
Starring O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Ice Cube’s son – thus the uncanny resemblance), Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell as Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and Eazy-e, Straight Outta Compton is directed by F. Gary Gray (Friday, Set It Off, The Italian Job).
In the mid-1980s, the streets of Compton, California, were some of the most dangerous in the country. When five young men translated their experiences growing up into brutally honest music that rebelled against abusive authority, they gave an explosive voice to a silenced generation.
Following the meteoric rise and fall of N.W.A., Straight Outta Compton tells the astonishing story of how these youngsters revolutionized music and pop culture forever the moment they told the world the truth about life in...

After recently learning that Ice Cube's son O'Shea Jackson Jr. will play a younger version of the rapper turned actor in Straight Outta Compton, the story of rap group Nwa, we now have word on the other two new faces who will play Dr. Dre and Eazy-e. And as a bonus, we have a first look photo showing off the cast with the rap alter egos. However, director F. Gary Gray (The Italian Job, Law Abiding Citizen) stands in place of the late Eazy-e, who died in 1995. Corey Hawkins is playing Dr. Dre while Jason Mitchell will play Eazy-e. Both Jackson Jr. and Mitchell look very much like their alter egos, but Hawkins isn't quite a match. Still, it's cool seeing a photo like this with the young actors and original rappers. Look below now! Here's the first photo of the cast of F. Gary Gray's Straight Outta Compton...

Universal has been putting together their N.W.A. biopic, Straight Outta Compton, for some time now and have finally agreed on a cast, director and release date. The film, which will star O'Shea Jackson Jr., Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell as Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and Eazy-e respectively, will focus on the mid-80s gangsta rap group and sets out to tell the story of how the group revolutionized music and pop culture forever, by telling the world the truth about life in the hood, which ignited a cultural war. But will the truth about N.W.A. be toldc I grew up listening to N.W.A. so I'll be interested to see how this turns out and just how much dirt it gets into. Considering it's produced by Ice Cube and Dr. Dre with no mention of Antoine Carraby (DJ Yella) or Lorenzo Patterson (Mc Ren) I have my doubts about how authentic it will be.

I’m excited to see the three young actors chosen to portray Cube, Dre and Easy-e on the big screen – all of them look somewhat similar to their real-life counterparts, and the thorough casting process that the filmmakers went through to find them speaks to how well Jackson, Hawkins and Mitchell must have embodied the rappers.
The biopic will chart the origins of rapper group Nwa and its rise to prominence with hits like “Fuck tha Police” and the title song. Check out an extended synopsis for the film,...

Universal's delayed N.W.A. biopic is suddenly coming together very quickly. Hot on the heels of yesterday's cast announcement, the studio has now released a cast photo and announced a 2015 release date. N.W.A. perfected the hard-hitting gangsta rap style in the late '80s, and launched the careers of Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and Eazy-e.
