If you're getting confused about what's going on with the future of the Ghostbusters franchise, you're not in the minority. Apparently even the people behind the scenes aren't necessarily certain about what's happening with their property, as writer Drew Pearce says one thing, producer Ivan Reitman says another and then Dan Aykroyd continues his babble over at the far right corner. For some background, for years -- decades even -- Akyroyd's tried getting Ghostbusters 3 off to the races. There were a number of complications, but essentially it came down to Bill Murray not playing ball. Despite multiple rewrites and reformatting from Akyroyd and others, it never quite came together. Akyroyd even tried to make the movie around Murray's disapproval, having him either cameo briefly as a ghost or simply not show up at all. Those settlements didn't change anything either, and when Harold Ramis passed away last year, Akyroyd's...

In a Sony email from last year, then studio head Amy Pascal was adamant that she would plant the flag first. She was referring to a few rival female-driven franchises that were in development, and she hoped her all female “Ghostbusters” project, which had not been fully announced yet, would beat them to the punch. Pascal was looking to fast-track Paul Feig’s soon-to-be announced “Ghostbusters” project, and get out in front of the other handful of female-led properties that are brewing out there. Meanwhile, Channing Tatum and Joe and Anthony Russo, the directors of “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” were pitching their own “Ghostbusters” movie one which Drew Pierce would write and would possibly star Chris Pratt (though the actor recently called that chatter “bullshit”). This male, sidebar “Ghostbusters” film was even something that Paul Feig didn’t know much about. "That was a real surprise when that announcement came out,...

Tom Cruise returns in Mission: Impossible 5 - one week after Star Wars arrives in cinemas...
With the various pieces now falling into place, Paramount Pictures has fired the gun on Mission: Impossible 5, which it's announced will be in cinemas on December 25th 2015 in the Us. We'd imagine we'll get it a day later in the UK.
The new instalment in the series has been penned by Drew Pierce (Iron Man 3), and will be directed by Christopher McQuarrie (who previously helmed Jack Reacher, also starring Tom Cruise). Tom Cruise will be reprising the role of Ethan Hunt, although it's not clear yet if the likes of Simon Pegg, Paula Patton and Jeremy Renner will be returning.
Mission Impossible: Ghost Procotol, the last film in the series, was both the most popular this year, and also the biggest grossing film of Tom Cruise's career.

With Iron Man 3 out soon, we sat down with writer and director Shane Black about screenwriting, action, Last Action Hero and Christmas...
When Shane Black talks about action, he makes explosion noises, like an excitable kid describing an episode of Thunderbirds. "Smash! An explosion of blood! Smash! Glass shattering!"
Composed and thoughtful when he talks about the business side of filmmaking, Black becomes animated and passionate when talk turns to screenwriting, or the composition of action scenes, and it's Black's passion for writing and action - not to mention his trademark wit - that has made him one of the biggest names in Hollywood. His script for Lethal Weapon, which he sold on spec at the age of just 23, launched a legion copycat buddy-cop movies, while The Last Boy Scout and The Long Kiss Goodnight remain cult favourites.

While we impatiently wait for Iron Man 3 to be released in theaters, here's an interview with Robert Downey Jr. as he reflects on getting in on the Iron Man action, and Shane Black talking about the future installments of the franchise.
Here's what Downey Jr. had to say to Esquire:
I think Iron Man wound up being the first time I screen-tested since Chaplin. As far as I was concerned, it was destiny. Now, I can't tell you how many people are sitting around with the cold, hard evidence that it wasn't. I just wasn't going to let lack of perseverance, lack of preparation, or lack of prayer get in the way. I just went crazy — in a good way. And suddenly it occurred to me, Oh my God, Stan Lee might not know this, but everything he created has all been leading to this moment. It's me. Then I thought,...

Sure The Avengers reunites every superhero from the Marvel cinematic universe in one superhero filled movie. In order to keep the Marvel Cinematic Universe alive, the movie studio has already planned for Iron Man 3 to hit May 3, 2013, and for Thor 2 to hit November 15, 2013. Robert Downey Jr. for the most part, as well as Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle reprising their roles as Pepper Potts and James “Rhodey” Rhodes/War Machine, respectively.

It looks like Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow wont be killed off in The Avengers, as a casting sheet has revealed that she will be back in action and kicking ass in Iron Man 3. Joss Whedon has a history of killing main characters, and I've heard some speculation that she might get knocked off. But you can now scratch Black Widow off the death list.
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang director Shane Black will be taking on the directing duties for Iron Man 3. I've enjoyed Black's past work, and I have a feeling he's going to give us something awesomely epic. We've heard that the third film in the franchise will follow the Extremis storyline from the comics, which would be amazing.

This weekend at Long Beach Comic Con director Shane Black showed up and gave a little information on Iron Man 3 which he will direct from a script written by Drew Pierce. It was recently announced that the film would be shooting in North Carlolina this time around. He didn't go into a lot of detail about the story, but here are a few details that he did reveal. Lok them over and tell us what you think!
Black told the audience that he requested that director Jon Favreau return as Happy Hogan in the film. “I love him as an actor,” said Black as the audience cheered. When audience members suggested the Mandarin, Black dismissed it as a racist caricature. The director then said he was not going to divulge any detail about who the villain would be, stating that it was more satisfying to see the movie without knowing everything beforehand.
