In another “no brainer” decision, Capcom has has confirmed plans to continue the trend of remaking past Resident Evil titles. Hot off of the success of remakes of Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4, Resident Evil 4 remake director Yasuhiro Anpo announced during a PlayStation partners event in Japan that the developer would be pursuing more remakes in the series.
Translated by IGN Japan, Anpo acknowledged Capcom plans when asked if the company plans on continuing with the Resident Evil series remakes. “We’ve released three remakes so far and they have all been received very well. Since it allows a modern audience to play these games, it is something I am happy to do as someone that loves these older games, and we want to continue doing more.”
As for which Resident Evil title will be getting the treatment next, Anpo didn’t say. “What game we will remake in...

Fans of Capcom’s upcoming Resident Evil 4 remake won’t have to wonder if the game will be getting a VR mode. With Resident Evil Village receiving its free VR upgrade yesterday, Capcom also announced via Twitter that RE4 will be getting a VR upgrade for the PlayStation VR2.
“The VR mode for Resident Evil 4 has begun development! Please look forward to more details in the future!” read the initial (translated) tweet from Resident Evil’s Japanese Twitter. Following that was a second tweet that read, “The VR mode for Resident Evil 4 will be released as free downloadable content for PlayStation 5 / PlayStation VR2.”
From the sounds of things, the VR mode won’t be making it in time for the remake’s release on March 24, but one never knows.

Game Informer are continuing their coverage of the upcoming Resident Evil 4 remake from last week with a new video featuring nearly 13 minutes of gameplay. Specifically, the video covers gameplay from Chapter 5.
Set right after Leon meets Ashley, the gameplay footage that you’ll find below includes extended looks at the church and cemetery sequences, a demonstration of the combat and exploration in Resident Evil 4 (including the remake’s new mechanics involving Ashley), finishing off with the chaotic cabin battle with Luis Serra.
Speaking of Ashley, Game Informer notes that her personality has been tweaked in the remake into someone that Capcom hopes will be “a more believable” character. “Her character is a little more serious [in the remake] than the original,” says director Yasuhiro Ampo. “We put a lot of thought into how someone would realistically react when put in those situations. And in that context, we strengthened the reality of her interactions with Leon.

As many had rightly predicted, one of this year’s first blockbuster video game releases has ultimately proven to be one of its best.
Capcom’s beloved remake of the survival horror classic Resident Evil 2 has been tipped to win big at year-end awards ceremonies ever since it released back in January, and now, those lofty expectations are beginning to ring true. As one of the longest-running awards shows in the industry and now in its 37th year, the Golden Joysticks are one of several such occasions intended to celebrate the incredible talent of developers big and small around the world.
With winners voted for entirely by the public via online ballot, there’s perhaps no greater indicator of a title’s success than being crowned a winner in any particular category, and it just so happens that Resident Evil 2 scooped up the most prestigious one of all. In what...

It turns out that Resident Evil 2's epic second disc was the result of someone's big mistake.
People who played Resident Evil 2 on PlayStation will undoubtedly remember its two-disc format. With Leon's story on one disc and Claire's on the other, the two-disc system not only highlighted the game's zapping feature (in which the actions of one character impact the story of another) but made the game feel larger than most other titles.
The funny thing is that Resident Evil 2 wasn't meant to be a two-disc game. In fact, the team could have, and intended to, fit the entire game on one disc. The decision to add the second disc was only made after a crucial error was discovered at the very last minute by software engineer Yasuhiro Anpo.
"Anpo told me there was a problem. But before he could explain, I actually hung up on him,...
