New Delhi, Dec 7 (Ians) Experts from 25 countries on Tuesday discussed the recent advances in spinal cord injury care, cure and rehabilitation and the various surgical interventions in the spinal cord injury management at International Spine and Spinal Injuries Conference (Issicon), organised by Indian Spinal Injuries Centre.
The four-day Spinal Injuries Conference was inaugurated by Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Virendra Kumar, in presence of Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Rajesh Aggarwal where around 625 global health experts like doctors, physiotherapists, nurses, occupational therapists discussed the way ahead for spine injury management.

New Delhi, Aug 24 (Ians) In a landmark decision on Wednesday, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the National Health Authority (Nha) under the Union Health Ministry and the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment to provide an inclusive and composite health package for transgender persons under Ayushman Bharat-pmjay.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya hailed the MoU as one of its kind in the country which will give impetus to ensuring a rightful and respectable place for the transgender community by accessing healthcare services under Ab-pmjay.
“This MoU has laid the foundation for a landmark transformational reform in the society. The move which provides special healthcare benefits to the transgender community goes beyond ensuring equality for the disadvantaged community”, Mandaviya said.

Films have always been subject to censorship not just by the governing bodies but also the public audience. The latest is that the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has issued notices to respective filmmakers and also to the chairman and secretary of Film Censor Board after it received a petition that alleged use of unparliamentary language in films like Bandit Queen, Gangajal, Omkara and Peepli Live. The said notices were issued by a bench comprising of Justice Umanath Singh and Justice Virendra Kumar Dixit after processing a petition filed by a local lawyer Ashok Pandey, who sought cancellation of censor certificates to these films.
