Emily Beecham has taken a leading role in one of the segments in “Berlin, I Love You,” the anthology feature that will consist of 10 romance-themed stories set in the German capital. She joins a stellar cast in the picture, including Helen Mirren, Keira Knightley and Jim Sturgess.
Beecham is known for playing the Widow in AMC’s hit martial-arts action series “Into the Badlands” and for her starring role in “Daphne.” She landed best actress awards at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and Turin Film Festival for that part, as well as Bifa and Empire Award nominations. She was also in the Coen brothers’ movie “Hail, Caesar!”

Exclusive: Jack Huston and Brit Marling have signed to star in Posthumous, an edgy dramatic comedy directed by Lulu Wang. Huston, best known as the half-masked assassin in Boardwalk Empire, plays a struggling artist whose artwork skyrockets in value when he is mistakenly thought to have killed himself. The artist decides to keep up the charade by pretending to be his own brother, but the entire plan is put in jeopardy when he befriends an enthusiastic reporter (Marling) who begins to show him the real value of life and art. Wang also wrote the film. The producers are Bernadette Bürgi, Marco Mehlitz Cole Payne, Darryn Welch, Skady Lis and Janet Yang. Both actors have momentum. Huston stars in David Chase’s directorial debut Not Fade Away, he just wrapped the Bille August-directed Night Train To Lisbon with Jeremy Irons, and he plays Jack Kerouac in the John Krokidas-directed Kill Your Darlings.

This second part of his Genghis Khan biopic will be shot in 2011 in China, Kazakhstan, Germany and Mongolia, and will be produced by Bodrov Film Production with the Us-based Tengri Production, Kinofabrika and Skady Lis' new independent production and financing company Getaway Pictures.
Our glorious leader, Todd, is in Berlin so we hope we can update this posting today with specifics about the upcoming film from Bodrov.
