- Basia Emano (nee Staszel) was born in the mountainous region near Zakopane, Poland, before migrating to the flatlands of the Midwest. Now a full-fledged Chicagoan, Basia's passion for the arts and humanities has propelled her through life with an ever-increasing sense of commitment to her community and culture. Her internship at the Illinois Film Office launched her into a 35-year trek through the film, television and theater industries. Her zeal and enthusiasm are refreshed daily. Between managing the aspiring careers of her children, she has worked in numerous film and television roles. She served as Casting Director for the independent film "Dog Jack," and her resume includes film credits for "Batman Begins," "Spiderman II," "Drunkboat," "What Women Want" and "A League of Their Own." She has added to television series such as "Chicago Fire," "Chicago Med," "Chicago PD," "Judge Alex," "Cristina's Court," "Texas Justice" and "Rozmowy w Toku." She simultaneously filled the role of Marketing Director for the Lira Ensemble (a not-for-profit professional performing arts company comprised of a symphony, female vocal ensemble, a chamber chorus, a children's chorus and a dance company) and has contributed to the film "Jerzy, Popieluszko: Messenger of the Truth" produced by the famed and multi-talented Paul Hensler ("Star Wars").
