That sound you hear are millions of “America’s Got Talent” fans in an uproar over three unforgivable eliminations during the Judge Cuts rounds. Opera singer Daniel Emmet, animal impersonator Lily Wilker and child singer Jeffrey Li all created a firestorm of anger when they were ousted, with many fans demanding that they be asked back as a wild card. Which eliminated “Agt” act from Season 13 upset You the most?
When Emmet first auditioned he was interrupted mid-performance by grumpy judge Simon Cowell because he didn’t like Emmet’s original song. Cowell then instructed the 25-year-old to learn a brand new song on the spot, Il Divo‘s “Passera.” Since Emmet had never heard it before, he was given a couple of hours to learn it. He returned to the stage and performed the song as though he’d been singing it his entire life. Emmet sailed through to the next round,...

Tears of joy and sadness flowed in the US last night as American Idol highlighted the plight of poverty-stricken kids in Africa and America. The TV talent contest became a charity drive for two hours when pop, rock and movie stars filmed special messages, videos and performed live in a bid to highlight charity organization One: The Campaign To Make Poverty History. Among the highlights was a moving rendition of West Side Story love theme Somewhere from opera quartet Il Divo, who performed as images of children blowing out candles were beamed onto a huge screen behind them. Former Idol winner Carrie Underwood also helped hammer home the emotion of child poverty when she shot a video of herself performing The Pretenders' "I'll Stand By You" to a group of African schoolchildren. The video, filmed especially for the show, also featured the singer visiting an African graveyard with a young local. Another Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson, performed gospel standard "Up To The Mountain" with British guitar great Jeff Beck. But the night's musical highlight came as opera star Josh Groban performed "You Lift Me Up" with the African Children's Choir. The charity special also had a host of comedy moments - Jack Black performed Seal's "Kiss From A Rose" and was critiqued by the British singer himself, while funnyman Ben Stiller had viewers covering their ears as he attempted to raise charity cash by crooning the Little River Band's "Reminiscing" on the TV special. In a taped video message, the funnyman insisted he wouldn't stop singing until viewers of the show raised $2 billion for anti-poverty charities. And stars like Hugh Grant, Keira Knightley, Teri Hatcher, Gwyneth Paltrow and Oscar winner Helen Mirren lip-synced a hilarious video version of The Bee Gees' "Staying Alive."...

LONDON -- The Beatles' "Love" (Apple) will spend Christmas at No. 1 on European Top 100 Albums, after starting a fourth week atop the composite sales chart. It stands at No. 1 in just one individual market, Greece, but "Love" also climbs back 7-5 in France, 10-9 in Spain and holds at No. 6 in the United Kingdom. In that territory, the album impressively posts a sales tally of 106,000 units, up 17% from the previous week. Its four-week U.K. total is up to 466,000, according to charts compiler to Official U.K. Charts Company.
The next three placings on Top 100 Albums are also unchanged. Il Divo's "Siempre" (RCA) is in runner-up spot again, its best showing a 3-2 climb in Holland, although it loses top place in Spain and Switzerland. U2's "U218 Singles" (Mercury) holds at No. 3 overall, buoyed by No. 2 rankings in Ireland and Greece, and Take That's "Beautiful World" (Polydor) is at No. 4 again on the aggregate list, spending a third week at No. 1 in the United Kingdom, where total sales are 597,000.
Take That's "Patience", meanwhile, is the U.K.'s No.
