The ABC drama Lost kept fans and critics hooked for six seasons. It wasn’t always positive. Not everyone was satisfied with the show’s answers to its own mysteries, but they kept watching to the end and many were. One development that did not go over well was the characters of Nikki and Paolo.

On March 28, 2007, Lost listened to fans and killed off Nikki and Paolo. Ironically, “Expose” turned out to be the best Nikki and Paolo episode. Here’s what happened:
The introduction of Nikki and Paolo on ‘Lost’
Lost was about the survivors of a plane crash on a mysterious island. The plane already included a large ensemble cast of survivors. Each week, Lost would focus on a different character and flash back to their lives before the island, informing some of the action on the island.

Throughout the course of her career, Sydney Sweeney has taken on her fair share of roles. The actor-producer has piqued interest on both the big screen and on TV. But perhaps one of her most memorable roles to date has been Olivia Mossbacher in The White Lotus. Playing the snarky college sophomore even earned Sweeney an Emmy nomination. But how did she prepare for the role? Turns out the process was incredibly intricate.
‘The White Lotus’ alums Sydney Sweeney and Fred Hechinger | Mario Perez/HBO Sydney Sweeney had never done comedy before ‘The White Lotus’
Considering Sweeney’s performance in The White Lotus, her fans may be surprised to learn that it was her very first foray into comedy. The actor’s inexperience with the genre made her nervous. A series that, for many fans, redefined episodic television, Lost made waves during its time on the air. The series ran from 2004 through 2010, over the course of six epic seasons. Many critics and fans praised Lost as one of the greatest TV shows of all time. But the series finale caused considerable controversy.
Many viewers weren’t happy with the way various storylines wrapped up. Others claimed that the extreme supernatural element woven into the final season made sense in the context of the overarching story. Interestingly enough, the Lost creators had a different vision for the finale — including an incredible scene with a massive volcano.

"Lost" costars Dominic Monaghan and Evangeline Lilly broke up in 2007 after three years of dating. In an Aug. 31 interview with Anna Faris on her podcast "Unqualified," Monaghan, 45, revealed that the split was his biggest heartbreak. "I think I've only really got my heart broken once in my life," he said. "I was dating an actress on 'Lost' called Evangeline Lilly, who, you know, has gone on to have a name all of her own. And yeah, you know, I don't really know how she would explain the narrative, but from my point of view, it was probably the first time in my life that I was just kind of all in."
The pair's relationship ended when one of Monaghan's friends claimed Lilly was cheating on him. "I mean, to say I was devastated is an understatement, you know. I had to be told by a third party like,...

This post contains spoilers for the season finale of The White Lotus, which is available now on HBO and HBO Max.
Last Monday, fans of The White Lotus were greeted with exciting news: HBO and Mike White had agreed to make another season, albeit one set at a new locale within the fictional White Lotus resort chain, and with different characters. This is not surprising. White designed the show to be largely pandemic-proof, since the cast and crew can take over a real resort together and create their own bubble for production.

Going into season 6, Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter had warned fans that it would be the most violent one yet. And he wasn’t joking. That means the FX drama’s special effects supervisor, Chris Nelson, was a busy man. Back in October, we asked Nelson to take us inside two particularly graphic scenes in the deadly episode “Los Fantasmas.” Revisit the conversation below. You may never look at watermelon the same way again.

ABC‘s slate of new shows for fall has a strange flavor to it, and it’s going to be a bumpy ride. The network has about as many new shows as returning ones (if you count all the midseasons), and a good percentage of the returning offerings are a year old or less, making this look a bit like a rebuilding year.
Not only is it a rebuilding year, but it’s the year of bringing back every actor and actress who ever had a decent run on a show before. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a network’s new season slate that was so crammed with people returning from something else. If you can’t make it good, I suppose, make sure viewers recognize the faces.
It’s tricky to get a solid feel...

Nestled in the heart of Silicon Valley, the Cinequest Film Festival has merged film and technology for two decades. The event was an early adopter of digital capture and exhibition as well as distribution across all platforms from the big screen to DVD to TV to the Internet to handheld devices.
The tradition continues in the festival’s 21st edition with a program that includes 3-D programming and panels, including the world premiere of the stereo version of “Plan 9 from Outer Space,” two 3-D shorts programs and seminars on the art and science of stereo filmmaking.
Meanwhile, Cinequest is screening 173 films this year from 41 countries — 75 of which are U.S., North American or world premieres. Audiences are expected to near 100,000, with more than 700 artists slated to attend.
This evening’s opening-night film is “Passione,” John Turturro’s musical love poem to the city of Naples.

Photo by Mario Perez—© 2010 American Broadcasting Companies, Inc. Michael Emerson, a stage-trained actor, joined the cast of Lost in 2006, playing a mysterious fellow who claimed his name was Henry Gale. As fans know, this man was actually Benjamin Linus, the leader of the Others. He would prove to be the show’s main villain, with the possible exception of the Smoke Monster. The cast of Lost is a mongrel unit, its actors having come out of stand-up comedy, sitcoms, movies, the stage, and modeling. Along with fellow veteran thespian Terry O’Quinn, who plays John Locke, Emerson is one of the regular cast members who has theater in his blood. Whenever Emerson and O’Quinn play a scene together, they have a great time rolling around in the dialogue and dragging out the dramatic beats. Both men have won Emmies for their Lost work, with O’Quinn beating out Emerson...

Chicago – CBS announced their fall schedule today. While fans of canceled “Accidentally on Purpose,” “Cold Case,” “Gary Unmarried,” “Numb3rs,” “The Ghost Whisperer,” and “The New Adventures of Old Christine” may disagree, the big TV news of the week is that several of the top network’s biggest shows are moving. “Survivor” jumps to Wednesday nights, “The Big Bang Theory” moves to Thursdays, “CSI: NY” slides to Fridays, and “CSI: Miami” now goes down on Sundays.
As far as on-the-bubble renewals are concerned, CBS saved “Rules of Engagement” and “Medium”. The rest of their renewals were pretty obvious choices as the network continues to air many of the biggest hits on TV including the #1 drama (“NCIS”), #1 comedy (“Two and a Half Men”), #1 new series (“Undercover Boss”), #1 news magazine (“60 Minutes”), #1 new drama (“NCIS: Los Angeles”), and #1 scripted series for the 18-49 and 25-54 demos (“The Big Bang Theory”).

The most recent episode of Lost resulted in the long (seriously long) awaited reunion between Jin and Sun. It's good the two love birds are back together, but things are not looking good for Sawyer and his group of misfits who are trying to escape the island.
Meanwhile, Fake Locke has been abandoned and is left only with Jack. No telling what kind of trouble those two will get into together. Do you think that Jack will be the only (or last) true candidate for the island and will replace Jacob? Will they all leave? Or all stay? Who knows. We literally only have four more hours of Lost before it's done forever. And don't forget, the two hour finale will be airing on Sunday, May 23, not on Tuesday.
Lost will be on hiatus next week and will be repeating today's earlier episode "Ab Aeterno" on April 27. In the meantime,...

Some crazy reveals in the most recent episode of Lost, right? First of all, the whispers are basically ghosts who are trapped on the island (for one reason or another). In a way, the island is almost like purgatory, it seems. Maybe not in the literal sense, but it is a place that is basically holding Hell (or the evil Smoke Monster) in check and it's also the resting place for ghosts who are unable to leave. So, yeah…purgatory.
I like the fact that the sideways world and the real world are starting to come together. Hurley remembering his life on the island with Libby (albeit briefly) gives me hope that there is, in fact, a bloody point to the sideways world (sorry, guys, but it's been bugging me until the recent episode with Desmond).
The biggest surprise, however, was the fact that Sideways Desmond essentially ran down Sideways Locke with his car.

Maggie Grace, who played Shannon on Lost, will return to the ABC drama later this season, executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse confirmed to EW.com. "We're really excited about having her back on the show," says Cuse, "and we have a good story for her." The producers would not specify how many episodes she would appear in. An original cast member, Grace exited the show in season 2 when her character -- the spoiled stepsister of Boone -- was killed off, though she did resurface in a season 3 episode. Harold Perrineau, Cynthia Watros, and Rebecca Mader are among the...

We are hours away from the arrival of the third episode of Lost’s last season, a Kate-centric affair entitled “What Kate Does.” That’s right, you heard me: third episode. Even though this is only week two, last week’s two-hour premiere counted as two episodes. Which means that after tonight, we will already be finished with 1/6th of the season. Holy Smokey! And it feels like the season only began last week. Wait...what?! My mind is still reeling -- in a good way -- from what we got out of "La X." Lost fans who have now seen the premiere can read ahead for some explanation from Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof. (Comments are likely to be full of spoilers also, you've been warned again.) If yesterday's terror alert about President (not Workman) Barack Obama's State of the Union address potentially conflicting with Feb. 2's Lost premiere had you freaked out like Charlie on a plane, rest easy! No State of the Union will mess with our enjoyment of a three-hour State of the Island. The White House still doesn't know when the Sotu will happen, but the Internet whined hard enough that it definitely won't be that night. Might the State of the Union address bump Lost's season premiere? That's the fear coursing through the veins of every Lostie today. President Obama hasn't set a date yet for the address, which typically occurs the last week of January. (Since 2000, only one SotU has been in February.) According to the Washington Post, though, "Conventional wisdom around the TV industry is that the White House is buying time in hopes of having a health-care reform package done before the speech." It's crappy enough that the U.S. has the 45th-worst infant mortality rate and health care costs have skyrocketed...
