Every time you change the channel, it seems that another primetime network has revamped another classic for the small screen — and sometimes, to viewers’ displeasure.
After this week’s Dirty Dancing remake, which, well, wasn’t a fan favorite, we’re taking a look back at what the Internet has had to say about the rest of the primetime musical adaptations, from the low to high notes.
8. Dirty Dancing
The latest addition to the primetime lineup of musical remakes was a little different. ABC’s Dirty Dancing wasn’t technically a musical, and it wasn’t live, as many of the revamps have been.

Filmmaker Adam McKay will direct a new movie he wrote about former vice president Dick Cheney, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie will track Cheney's transition from CEO of oil conglomerate Halliburton to vice president in George W. Bush's White House. During his time as VP, Cheney notoriously exercised incredible sway, advocating for the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq alongside "enhanced interrogation techniques" such as waterboarding. Prior to his stint at Halliburton, Cheney worked in the Nixon, Ford and George H.W. Bush administrations, and served as the representative for Wyoming's at-large district.

Academy Award winner Adam McKay is headed to the White House for his next feature film. Per Deadline, “The Big Short” helmer will direct an untitled Dick Cheney film for Paramount.
McKay will reteam with the studio and Plan B to tell the story about the former vice president who went from his CEO position at Halliburton to being VP under George W. Bush.
“I’ve always found Cheney fascinating,” McKay told Deadline. “Questions of what drove him, what his beliefs were; but once we started digging I was astounded at how much he had shaped modern America’s place in the world and how shocking the methods were by which he gained his power.”

Legendary Pictures has won a heated bidding war for "Bad Blood," a new feature project about the Theranos blood testing company scandal.
Adam McKay ("The Big Short") penned and will direct the project which will star Jennifer Lawrence as 32-year-old entrepreneur Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of the company which at one time was valued at $9 billion.
That value dropped to effectively zero following news that the company is under investigation for inaccurate testing that took place at their California labs. Cms regulators are trying to ban her for two years from owning or operating a blood lab.

Last year Adam McKay won an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for The Big Short. That was easily one of the best films of the year. It explored the corruption and ridiculousness of Wall Street and how they play the housing market. The director is now going to take on another controversial story, and he's taking Jennifer Lawrence along for the ride.
The story for the untitled film centers on Elizabeth Holmes, "the founder of the health-technology and medical-laboratory-services company Theranos. Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence is teaming up with The Big Short director Adam McKay for a real-life drama based on the founder of revolutionary medical startup, Theranos. Deadline reports that Lawrence is “attaching herself” to the project, which we’ll take to mean she’s working out a deal to headline another film where she plays an entrepreneur.
If she hammers out a plan with McKay, she’ll headline as Elizabeth Holmes, the 32-year old founder and 50% stakeholder of Theranos. The firm essentially changed the way the medical community operates, by allowing blood tests to be undertaken with a pinprick of blood as opposed to an injection.
That type of development shook up the medical industry, sending the company’s worth skyrocketing — Holmes was at one time valued at $4.5 billion. Since then, Theranos’ stock plummeted due to inconsistencies in test findings. You can just see the montage now, can’t you?...

Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of the blood-testing startup company Theranos, is no longer one of America’s richest self-made women. Forbes revised its estimate of Holmes’ net worth from $4.5 billion to exactly $0 on Wednesday, effectively knocking her off the 2016 list of the richest, most successful, self-made women in America. Theranos, which was originally valued at $9 billion, garnered attention in recent years as being a company that could revolutionize the blood testing industry by conducting tests from a single prick of a finger at a fraction of the cost of standard methods.
