Comic book author Brian Michael Bendis has set a first-look deal with Amazon is already developing three TV series under the new pact based on his previous works: “Jinx,” “Murder Inc.” and “Pearl.”
“Jinx” is a crime-ridden love story unfolding on a high stakes treasure hunt, per Amazon’s series description. Our players are: Jinx Alameda, a bounty hunter at the top of her game who’s tired of her grimy life; Goldfish, a charming con man and wanted felon who falls head over heels for Jinx; and Columbia, Goldfish’s loose-cannon partner, who has big criminal dreams. Their paths join when they’re pulled into a search for missing mob money — a payout so big that it lures them away from the familiar streets of Cleveland, into a dangerous, unpredictable misadventure that will change the course of their lives.
“Jinx” is executive produced by Bendis along with showrunners Ayelet Waldman and Michael Chabon.

DC Comics "World of Krypton" #1, available December 7, 2021, is written by Robert Venditti and illustrated by Michael Avon Oeming, with covers by Mico Suayan and A. D'Amico:
"...in this modern telling, 'Krypton' is a utopia admired across the universe for its achievements in science and culture, but its shining towers and regal people conceal a planet rotting at its core.
"When a catastrophic event befalls Krypton's natural world, it points toward a mass extinction in the making. 'Jor-El', head of Krypton's revered 'Science Council', embarks on a mission to save a world that may already have passed the point of no return.
"Shining new light on the famous characters of Krypton's past, including Jor-El, 'General Dru-Zod' and even a young 'Kara Zor-El', 'World of Krypton' combines action, cosmic wonder and political intrigue in a story as much about our world as the one on the page..."

This article contains spoilers for Marvel’s Loki episode 2, “The Variant.”
Marvel’s Loki episode 2, “The Variant” is all about exactly what you think it is: uncovering the mystery of who the murderous Loki variant the Tva is tracking. And the ending of Loki episode 2 does exactly that…or does it?
While we’re certainly meant to believe on first glance that the mysterious and magical woman under the hood is simply a female variant of Loki, and there is plenty of precedent for Loki’s genderfluid nature in the comics, there’s just enough ambiguity (and even a little bit of evidence) to point to the fact that “Lady Loki” might not be “Lady Loki” at all.
But let’s start with the golden-horned elephant in the room, because you might be wondering why there’s a lady version of Loki running around in the first place…

Russell Crowe is in Thor: Love and Thunder. Cool. Russell Crowe is playing a god in Thor: Love and Thunder. Cooler. Russell Crowe is playing the most incorrigible, inappropriately horny god-father of them all as Zeus. Impossibly cool.
Crowe revealed in an interview to Joy Breakfast With the Murphys that “I’m gonna get on my bicycle. I’m gonna ride up to Disney Fox Studios, and around about 9:15 I shall be Zeus!”
He also notes that this is his last day of filming on Thor: Love and Thunder. “It’s my last day of Zeus-ing about and I’m going to enjoy it.”
Hopefully “Zeus-ing about” means he’ll be behaving poorly and getting his absolute ass handed to him by Hera, all with that trademark Taika Waititi wit and humor about it.
The introduction of the denizens of Mt. Olympus to the MCU is a pretty momentous occasion.

I’m sure the creators will all insist that this is totally not a superhero book, that it’s much cooler and obscure and indy and retro and hand-crafted than that. But it’s a big DC Comics book with Superman in it, whose hero is a guy with a mysterious, technologically-advanced eyeball with unexpected and plot-convenient powers, who leads a team of people in jumpsuits and drives a weird vehicle with a silly name.
So, yeah, it’s absolutely a superhero book.
Cave Carson Has a Cybernetic Eye was a twelve-issue series — I’m not sure, at this late date, if it was meant to be mini- or maxi- or ongoing, and frankly I don’t care — from 2016-2017, about the very minor DC character of the title, who had previously appeared in some forgettable ’60s stories and a few random crossovers. By all accounts DC have a lot riding on their Future State line of books, which will see print in January and February of this year. DC have essentially replaced their normal DC Universe books with books set in the future, allowing them fresh takes on characters and books. If unsuccessful, I’m sure they’ll tell us it was a bit of fun but not their bread and butter. If successful, as they are hoping, expect to see some new ongoing titles in a new future imprint. As a wise man once said, there’s nothing new under the Sun, so this has all been done in various shapes and sizes down the years of course, but it’s usually highly entertaining stuff. Some of my favourite stories from back in the day were the Mr.

Can you believe it? 25 years of Hellboy? The comic's first San Diego Comic-Con outing was in 1993 (the con at that time occurred between August 19th-22nd), and to celebrate, Dark Horse Comics is pulling out all the stops, as the company has revealed three new Hellboy titles: Hellboy Winter Special 2018, Crimson Lotus, and Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: 1956:
Press Release: Milwaukie, Ore.,—In 1993, legendary comic book creator Mike Mignola’s most famous creation, Hellboy, first appeared in a four page, black and white story in San Diego Comic-Con Comics #2, months ahead of his full issue comic book debut in Hellboy: Seed of Destruction. Co-published by Dark Horse Comics, this story introduced one of the most beloved comic book characters in history and launched what would become known as the Mignolaverse — the strange, shared universe of comic books and graphic novels, comprised of acclaimed titles including Hellboy and the B.

So you want to learn more about Asgard after Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Endgame? We've got a Thor comics reading guide for you!
Thor has always been one of the biggest, boldest, brashest, sweepingly epic comics that Marvel publishes. For decades the exploits of Thor and the gods of Asgard were positively unfilmable. Which is why it's so hard to believe we now live in a world where there are three Thor movies, which doesn't even take into account his star turn in Avengers: Endgame and the other films in the franchise.
Creative team after creative team tried to top one another and create the grandest, the most mythic, and the most epic Thor stories possible. And since the character debuted in 1962, Thor has attracted some of the most finest and groundbreaking creators in comics.

So far, DC’s Young Animal imprint has impressed critics and consumers alike with its outlandish takes on cult favorite characters, while adding some new ones to the publisher’s expansive pantheon as well. If I could succinctly sum up what I’ve seen from this line to date, I’d say it’s like a marriage between Vertigo and DC proper. Basically, it’s the best of both worlds.
In the past, I said that Doom Patrol could probably be labeled as Young Animal’s flagship book, a statement that I stand by. But while Gerard Way’s modern take on the obscure group does have its appeal, I believe that Cave Carson Has A Cybernetic Eye is one of the more inviting to the curious reader. Yes, it’s quite...

The Powers TV series will end with season 2, according to series creator Brian Michael Bendis.
It's a sad day for Powers fans. Series creator Brian Michael Bendis has announced over Twitter than the TV series based on the acclaimed comic book from Bendis and artist Michael Avon Oeming has been canceled:
this is hard to tweet, but word is that @POWERStheSERIES is sadly, no more. season 2 was the last. at least for now. 1/2

i'll type more about it later, but thank you All for your support. such a fantastic personal experience that you gifted all of us. 2/2

Bendis didn't give many more details about the cancellation. It's a shame this show has come to an end, because season 1 really improved as it went along. Time will tell if Powers can come back to life with another studio.

PlayStation Network’s first original series is seemingly no more, after Brian Michael Bendis took to Twitter to announce that Sony has canned Powers after only two seasons.
Bendis, who hatched the original Image Comics procedural alongside artist Michael Avon Oeming, noted that the comic book iteration will continue at Marvel, where the next arc will be called Diamond Days.
Entering the already overcrowded capes-and-tights genre in March of last year, Powers centered on Sharlto Copley’s grizzled detective Christian Walker, who spent his days ensuring the superheroes of the city remain firmly in line. As a former hero himself, Copley’s brooding lead served as the lynchpin between both worlds and though early episodes displayed real promise, lackluster ratings pinned Sony’s adaptation into a corner early on.

The Dick Tracy movie was a defining summer blockbuster, yet somehow never got a sequel. Here's why...
Make no mistake, the 1990 Dick Tracy movie was intended to be the next Batman. That's amusing when you consider how much of a debt Batman comics owed the grotesque rogues' gallery of Chester Gould's Dick Tracy comic strips. But from a box-office perspective, this is where things stood as we headed into the summer of 1990. And as surely as Batman launched a franchise that has continued (in some form or another) for 25-plus years, so too did Disney have ambitions for Dick Tracy 2.
Just as Bat-merchandise had begun to flood shelves in early spring of 1989, so did Dick Tracy trading cards, bubble gum, a remarkably ugly (but strangely appealing) line of action figures from Playmates (who ruled the world at that moment with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles license), making-of books, and (best of all) new reprints of the original daily and Sunday comic strips. That's a fairly optimistic program of licensing, and that doesn't even include the T-shirts, bath towels, and other novelties that followed.
The Batman similarities even extended to the minimalist movie posters, which featured an outline of Warren Beatty in primary-coloured profile, or speaking into a two-way wrist radio promising "I'm on my way." Disney's marketing department perhaps overestimated the recognisability and mass market appeal of the character, who hadn't been seen in live-action since the mid-50s, and who last actually made it to television in any form as part of a poorly-animated (and horrifically racist) Saturday morning cartoon in the '60s. Batman, on the other hand, was still an indelible pop culture icon, thanks in no small part to the inescapable presence of the Adam West TV series in syndication throughout the decade.
After Tim Burton's star-studded Batman dominated the summer of 1989 with a $250 million American haul (over $400 million worldwide), and since Dick Tracy had similar elements (top drawer celebrities in ridiculous makeup, remarkable set design, the biggest pop star of the era providing a soundtrack), studio expectations were probably stratospheric. Instead, Dick Tracy finished its theatrical run with a far more modest $162 million worldwide. While still a hefty profit over the film's $47 million budget, those certainly weren't Batman numbers, and brightly colored Dick Tracy merchandise stayed on shelves well past its Christmas 1990 sell by date.
Batmania, this wasn't. In the aftermath of the film's box office, Disney's Jeffrey Katzenberg would pen his infamous 1991 memo (which in turn inspired the film Jerry Maguire, many years later).
Dick Tracy did, however, manage to win three Oscars (two more than Batman), well-deserved ones for makeup and art direction, and a less surefire one for the Stephen Sondheim-penned and Madonna sung 'I Always Get My Man'. Even that is less puzzling than the Best Supporting Actor nomination for Al Pacino, whose slide into shouty, slouchy self-parody can perhaps be traced directly to his role as Alphonse 'Big Boy' Caprice in this film.
Dick Tracy received a somewhat less enthusiastic critical reception as well, and it's easy to see why. Despite Richard Sylbert's eye-popping and perfectly comic strip visuals, the film is remarkably thin on story, full of lifeless characters painted broadly even by blockbuster standards, and makes little use of the world's most enduring creations, the villains, virtually all of whom end up full of lead or otherwise dispatched by the film's end.
With all of the above in mind, it's almost no wonder that Dick Tracy 2 was an impossibility. Setting aside the fact that the novelty of seeing so many of the iconic villains on screen at once (William Forsythe's Flattop was a particularly memorable creation), trying to duplicate the almost absurd parade of talent on display under the makeup (including Dustin Hoffman as well as gangster movie luminaries James Caan and Paul Sorvino) for a sequel would have been a fool's errand.
But it's nothing so simple as story or economics that have kept Dick Tracy in the pen. After all, Hollywood has mounted franchise attempts no less Quixotic for lesser films, and it's surprising that there hasn't been any reboot traction for the property, either. That's because, as usual, you can blame lawyers.
Warren Beatty first acquired the rights to Dick Tracy from comic strip publishers Tribune Media in 1985. At some point, these rights were supposed to revert to Tribune if no new Tracy projects were forthcoming from Beatty, as long as they requested them via some legal gymnastics and a two-year notification process (that window would allow Warren Beatty enough time to make another Dick Tracy movie before handing the character over).
Tribune tried to make this happen in 2002, but for legal reasons that I'm not qualified to understand let alone write about, their claim was rejected after Beatty filed a suit indicating that the proper procedures weren't followed, the two-year window wasn't respected, and he still had plans to make a sequel. The case was resolved in his favour. Since then, Beatty has retained the rights, presumably with the same two-year window in place to allow him to make another movie should Tribune come knocking.
That three-year period, from when Tribune tried to exercise their claim on the Dick Tracy rights to when the suit was resolved, still doesn't account for the decade since then. At the time, Mr. Beatty claimed that Tribune's attempt to get the rights back made progress on his own Dick Tracy sequel "impossible." But considering that Beatty has never been known as the most prolific filmmaker or actor, moving at a deliberate pace with all of his projects, the fact that Dick Tracy 2 never materialised shouldn't surprise anyone.
But there always seem to be plans afoot for more...
Periodically, Warren Beatty makes some noises about his intention to make Dick Tracy 2, although I suspect this is posturing to allow him to hold on to the rights. I did reach out to representatives for Beatty to see if he'd be willing to offer some comment on this, but as of this writing, nobody has responded.
“I’m gonna make another one," Mr. Beatty told a crowd at the Hero Complex Festival in 2011. “I think it’s dumb talking about movies before you make them. I just don’t do it. It gives you the perfect excuse to avoid making them.” This was probably a self-directed jab at the fact that he hasn't made a movie since 2001, but as with many things related to this project, I have to wonder if occasionally expressing a public desire to make Dick Tracy 2 is all that stands between Beatty and another battle with Tribune.
In a strange maneuvre that was simply a required flexing of creative muscle to satisfy some minimum legal requirement, Beatty even donned the yellow overcoat and fedora in 2011 for the Dick Tracy Special. Beatty appears in character as Dick Tracy to give an interview with film critic Leonard Maltin, where he, as Tracy, refers to Warren Beatty...the actor who played him. "He was no Ralph Byrd or even Morgan Conway," Beatty/Tracy cracks, referencing two classic live-action Dicks from the '30s and '40s, "but I have to admit he looked remarkably like me."
No, really. See for yourself:
More recently, Beatty still made some noises about his plans to make Dick Tracy 2. This seems as unlikely now as it did five years ago.
The lawsuit that allowed Beatty to retain control of the Dick Tracy rights may have also scuttled all plans to revive the character in other media. In 2005, Transformers producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, along with Bobby Newmyer and Scott Strauss, struck a deal with Tribune to develop a live-action Dick Tracy TV series, which would have brought the famed detective into the present day. More powerful than tommy guns, a team of lawyers put a stop to that before it got off the ground.
Reportedly, these same legal issues even put the brakes on a plan by Powers creators Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming to kick off a new Dick Tracy comic book series (it's tough to imagine a more perfect creative team for that). In other words, the same thing that kept Dick Tracy 2 from happening, has also essentially retired the detective from any and all potential new adventures. So, not only will we never see a sequel to the 1990 film (which is probably for the best), but the prospects of seeing the iconic detective again in any new adventures appear increasingly dim.
However, for those devoted fans of the movie, there are other ways to immerse yourself in the film's continuity, all of which can be considered 'official' extensions of the story...
In the lead up to the film's release, three prestige format comics were released, written by John Francis Moore with wonderful art by the always brilliant Kyle Baker. The first two of these ("Big City Blues" and "Dick Tracy vs. The Underworld") are adventures that take place before the events of the movie, while the third adapts the film. You can usually find the collected edition, Dick Tracy: The Complete True Hearts and Tommy Guns on the cheap at comic conventions.
Dick Tracy: True Hearts and Tommy Guns is absolutely worth your time if you're a fan of the movie or of the character in general. Kyle Baker's art is always a treat, but he captures the larger than life flavour of the movie on these pages as well as the horrific nature of the villains in a way that the sometimes rubbery makeup of the film simply didn't. The over-the-top cartoon violence of the films is a little bloodier and more impactful here, particularly the original tales in the first two chapters. Interestingly enough, these were the first Dick Tracy comics to feature original material to arrive in thirty years, and now, twenty-five years later, they're still the only ones since 1961 (reprints of the comic strips, however, are in good health thanks to Idw Publishing, as are the comic strips themelves...published by Tribune).
For that matter, the Dick Tracy novelisation by Max Allan Collins is also well worth seeking out. Collins, an experienced crime fiction writer who also had the distinct honour of writing Dick Tracy's comic strip adventures for 15 years after creator Chester Gould retired, brought a more authentic voice to the proceedings. Without the over the top visuals of the film, the book feels decidedly more violent (particularly the opening description of the St. Valentine's Day style massacre that begins the movie), and closer to the character's crime solving roots than what got put on screen. Warren Beatty was so impressed with Collins' flourishes that some of the dialogue from the novel was later added to the finished film.Collins also wrote two novels which can be considered 'official' sequels to the films. Dick Tracy Goes to War was published in 1990, within months of the movie's release, and was followed in 1991 by Dick Tracy Meets his Match. Another prose collection, Dick Tracy: The Secret Files was released to cash in on that year's Tracymania and was edited by Collins, but doesn't share any continuity with the film. But in short, if you want some kind of official "Dick Tracy movie universe," start with True Hearts and Tommy Guns and follow straight through with the Collins novels.
It'll have to do...because Dick Tracy is most assuredly not on his way.

Powers is the latest comic adaptation – based on the Marvel/Icon comic by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming – from the team who produced The Walking Dead which turns the concept of superheroes on their head and asks: what if the world was full of superheroes who aren’t heroic at all?
For those that haven’t heard of the show before (why not?) Powers follows the lives of two homicide detectives, Christian Walker played by Sharlto Copley (District 9, Maleficent) and Deena Pilgrim played by Susan Heyward (666 Park Avenue, 30 Rock). Powers was actually the PlayStation Network’s first scripted original programming, premiering on March 10th 2015; however now the UK arm of Spike have announced it is to join their roster of shows which also includes From Dusk Till Dawn, Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead.

In comparison to last issue of Ultimate Marvel Team-Up, Ultimate Marvel Team-Up #2-3 fits much more seamlessly with its parent title, Ultimate Spider-Man. It opens an extended opening scene set inside the Daily Bugle where editors J. Jonah Jameson and Robbie Robertson have a Sorkin-esque walk and talk conversation about how to cover the “mutant problem” while Ben Urich has just received a tip that a “green montrosity” is on its way to New York. Of course, it’s the Hulk, and the rest of the story isn’t concerned with the possibly fascinating topic journalism in the Ultimate Marvel Universe, but big splash pages, smashing, and Spider-Man coming to grips with fighting an unbeatable foe. Brian Michael Bendis, co-creator of Jessica Jones, has seen a few episodes of Netflix’s next Marvel series. Read what he said here…
Writer Brian Michael Bendis co-created the character of Jessica Jones with artist Michael Gaydos in 2001. Now, Marvel Studios is making a live action version of her superhero-turned-sleuth story – she’ll be the protagonist of her own series, Jessica Jones, on Netflix.
Krysten Ritter is in the title role, with Mike Colter playing Luke Cage and David Tennant as the villainous Purple Man. Brian Michael Bendis hasn’t been too involved with this adaptation process, because he’s been working closely with Sony to make Powers, based on his Image comic with Michael Avon Oeming, instead.
Now, though, Bendis has seen the first few episodes and has nothing but nice things to say. Here’s what he posted on Tumblr (the grammar is his, not ours, so, er,...

Not an American PlayStation owner? Been wondering how to watch the Powers TV show? You can pick up a Blu-ray in July, we're told...
Since its release, those without access to an American PlayStation have been incapable of legally watching Powers, the Sony live-action adaptation of Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming's brilliant comic about policing a super-powered world.
Now, though, High-Def Digest have got the inside scoop about the show's upcoming Blu-Ray release. The first season of the show will be available on disc from Tuesday the 14th of July 2015.
Apparently, the suggested list price for the Blu-Ray is $45.99, or about £30 in sterling.
It's worth noting that this news has been described as "an early announcement to retailers," so may not be fully set in stone yet. If we hear any conflicting information, we'll update this story.

Sony’s superhero drama Powers may not have lit up the PlayStation Network in a way the company would have hoped – perhaps stifled by the success of Marvel’s Daredevil – but that doesn’t mean the Japanese giant isn’t prepared to have another crack of the whip. In fact, The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Sony will bring the series back in 2016 for season 2.
Following the ten-episode stint, the company will be looking to assemble the creative team back for another turn in the Powers Department, and here’s what Sony’s top brass had to say on the renewal.

Do you like tracking down old issues of Hellblazer or reading recent horror comics like Wytches or Afterlife with Archie? Do you also like picking up old Justice League/Justice Society crossovers or basking in a retro-styled superhero comic, like James Robinson’s Golden Age (or most comics by him) or even something like the recent Rocketeer/Spirit crossover? Then, Shaman #1 is the comic for you. It is about a middle-aged magician Shaman, whose job is to basically resurrect old superheroes and people for various reasons. He is joined by his snarky teen daughter LL and the teleporting superhero Vanisher in this first issue where they fight Vanisher’s grandfather, the first Vanisher, who isn’t happy about being brought back.

Powers is a new comic book show, exclusive to PlayStation Network. Our thoughts, both spoiler-filled and spoiler-free, are here…
Warning: there are spoilers later on, but we’ll warn you before we get into them.
First coming into existence in the year 2000, Powers is an on-going comic book by writer Brian Michael Bendis (credited, perhaps most famously, with being the artichect of Marvel’s Ultimate universe) and artist Michael Avon Oeming (known for Bluntman And Chronic and a host of Marvel work).
Powers (originally an Image comic, now owned by Marvel’s Icon imprint), is the story of two detectives – Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim – based in the ‘Powers’ Division of the police force in a world where superheroes and their equally powerful villains are commonplace. Both characters’ pasts come into play in interesting ways, and the chemistry between them is a thing of beauty.

PlayStation Network jumps into the original programming game by offering a fresh perspective on the nearly oversaturated superhero market. “Powers” is based on a long-running comic book series by writer Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming. While set firmly in the world of spandex-clad heroes and villains, it is not these colorful characters at the center of the stories. Instead, homicide detectives Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim take center stage, as they tackle powers-related crimes. Rather than flying through the air with the superheroes, or witnessing their tussles with super-powered foes up close, we are instead treated to what.

Not sold on the concept of Sony’s foray into live-action television with Powers? Fear not, for the publisher has uploaded the premiere episode of the PlayStation-exclusive series to watch free of charge.
Coming by way of Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming’s eponymous comic book series, the show follows Christian Walker and his partner in superhero crime, Deena Pilgrim (played by Sharlto Copley and Susan Heyward). Specializing in all things out of the ordinary, the pair are tasked with keeping the superpowered denizens of their city in check.
Powers marks the first slice of original television from Sony as the Japanese giant looks to compete with the medium’s heavy-hitters: Netflix, Hulu and the like. To date, the company has greenlit one season of the crime series, though there’s every chance that the show will continue into a sophomore season should viewing figures reflect its appeal.

Early in Brian Michael Bendis' career in comics, before Marvel gave him the chance to reinvent Spider-Man, Daredevil, the Avengers and the X-Men, he wrote a terrific autobiographical comic called "Fortune and Glory," about his struggles to get his early film noir-style comics adapted into movies. He runs through the usual inside showbiz stories of near-misses and ridiculous studio notes, but is also very open about how much he had to learn about the differences in writing for the page and the screen. (He's embarrassed to realize, for instance, that much of his dialogue is too dense to come out of the mouths of actors and sound natural.) Bendis has been on a much longer and more convoluted journey with "Powers," the comic he and Michael Avon Oeming created about a pair of human homicide detectives in a world overrun by superhumans, and which debuts today as the first...

The PlayStation Original series—adapted from the gritty graphic novel universe created by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, and produced by the studio that brought you Breaking Bad—is based on a compelling premise: what if the world was full of superheroes who aren’t actually heroic at all? What if all that power was just one more excuse for mischief, mayhem, murder, and endorsement deals? Powers, an edgy dramatic series, follows the lives of two homicide detectives, Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim, who are assigned to investigate cases involving people with superhuman abilities, referred to as “Powers.” Set amidst today’s paparazzi culture, Powers asks the questions, what if the world was full of superheroes who aren’t actually heroic at all? Powers, PlayStation's foray into original programming, finally made its debut, with streams now available for the superhero drama's first three episodes (the pilot, gratis). The next seven installments will continue to roll out, one by one, every Tuesday. There's also a new trailer, which sets the gory backdrop of Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming's graphic novel turned TV series: A deadly, super-powered villain has escaped a federal containment facility and an underground, power-enhancing drug dubbed "sway" is all over L.A. streets. It's up to Detective Christian Walker (Sharlto Copley) and his partner to stop those using their powers for ill. Fun!

Sony is gearing up to release their upcoming original PlayStation show, Powers. The show is based upon Brian Michael Bendis/Michael Avon Oeming graphic novel series, which follows a pair of crime solvers; Christian Walker & Deena Pilgrim. Both stars will be Sharlto Copley and Susan Heyward. Their characters will be a group of special detectives who find themselves up against an evil force. You can catch their trailer that they released for it down below.
The show will be right up the alley of current popular shows. I will be interested to see when they choose to release it since it will have a touch of superheros in it. Plus the trailer does a good job at picking at people’s interest enough to where we want to see more of the show and how the story will unfold. They clearly have PR on their side with that amazing trailer.

As a former superhero, Christian Walker (played by Sharlto Copley) has his work cut out dealing with all things supernatural as part of his city’s Powers Division, a no-nonsense force that attempt to establish a sense of equilibrium between the everyday folk and the superhumans that soar across the sky above them.
It’s a conflict that will underpin Walker’s arc throughout the show’s first season, and his inner conflict is alluded to in Sony’s latest clip for the PlayStation-exclusive series. Adapted from Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming’s eponymous comic series, Powers will follow Walker and his partner Deena Pilgrim (Susan Heyward) as they find themselves caught amidst the two factions.
David Slade, the man behind 30 Days of Night, helmed the first two episodes of the company’s fantasy series, which also stars Noah Taylor, Eddie Izzard and Michelle Forbes.

With all of the new series coming out in 2015, from Better Call Saul to iZombie to Westworld, it would be understandable if people had forgotten about Sony’s first original series Powers, but as this trailer for the series illustrates, you shouldn’t. New York Comic Con had all sorts of digital media surprises this past weekend, including one from Sony’s Playstation Network (Psn). The gaming-based network revealed the trailer for its first original series dubbed Powers. Starring Sharlto Copley, Susan Heyward, and Eddie Izzard, the show is based on the comic book by the same name by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming. Powers’s ten episodes will tell the story of detectives in charge of investigating the supernatural crimes of powerful, other-worldly beings. Sony Pictures Television and Circle of Confusion will both produce the series which will debut on Psn sometime in December 2014. During the annual New York Comic-Con, Sony took the opportunity to unveil the first trailer for its PlayStation-exclusive television show, Powers.
Based on Michael Avon Oeming and Brian Michael Bendis’ eponymous comic book, the series is due to premiere this December and follows Christian Walker (Sharlto Copley) and Deena Pilgrim (Susan Heyward), a pair of homicidal detectives who specialize in the abnormal.
Specifically, the two appear to be keeping close tabs on the titular Powers — a group of humans with supernatural abilities — within the Windy City itself, Chicago. From the above footage, it appears as though Copley’s character has an innate connection with the misunderstood antagonists, claiming that they somehow managed to steal his own mystical powers.
Joining Copley and Heyward for the procedural are Eddie Izzard, Noah Taylor, Olesya Rulin, Max Fowler, and Adam Godley. It’s understood that the pilot episode will be overseen by David Slade...
