Exclusive Interview: Writer/Director Mel House Talks Psychic Experiment, Upcoming Projects and More!
On Tuesday, December 6th, Lionsgate is set to release writer/director Mel House's latest genre offering, Psychic Experiment. Featuring an all-star cast including Katie Featherston, Debbie Rochon, Adrienne King, Reggie Bannister, Glenn Morshower, Kathy Lamkin and Shannon Lark, the flick is centered around an idyllic, small, self-sufficient community which seems like the perfect neighborhood on the surface.
After all, everything you could possibly need is within walking distance. But eventually the pastoral exterior conceals a dark past and an even darker secret, and as a group of individuals - each with their own ties and agendas with the town and each other - converge on the enclave, strange things begin to happen. Very strange things. Strange enough to test - and then break - the very fabric of reality itself.

Fango got the scoop from Mel House, the Texas-based director of Closet Space and the upcoming fright feature Walking Distance, that Nightmare On Elm Street sequels star Lisa Wilcox (pictured below) has joined the cast of Imago, the latest from his Upstart Filmworks company. “Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a huge fan of the Elm Street series,” House tells us, “so you can imagine how excited I am to have Lisa be a part of our team.”
Wilcox (pictured), who toplined the fourth and fifth Freddy flicks, joins a cast also including Walking Distance castmates Natali Jones, Omar Adam, Sean Brison, Melanie Donihoo, Eryn Brooke and Danielle Jones, plus Parrish Randall from such Lone Star State fear fare as The Quick And The Undead and The Flesh Keeper. “Dream Master and Dream Child are pretty much branded on my psyche,” continues House, who wrote Imago with director Christopher Warren and will produce.

Writer/director Mel (Closet Space) House provided Fango with an exclusive new trailer for his ambitious indie shocker Walking Distance. He also sent along some exclusive new pics from the movie; you can see one below the trailer and the others at the bottom of this page.
The movie takes place in a small community that offers complete self-sufficiency, but has some extremely unpleasant secrets bubbling under its surface. “I’m happy to say that I’m 95 percent done with the initial rough cut,” House tells us. “Once I get that finished, we’ll start getting the plates out to our visual FX guys, so that they can get cracking on that stuff while I start on my second pass. Things are actually moving along rather quickly now; Hurricane Ike set our 2nd-unit shooting back about a month, but it worked out in our favor, as it gave us more...
