For Halloween, we celebrate The Simpsons' best Treehouse Of Horror stories, feat. zombies, Hitchcock and Kubrick spoofs and more...
“Nothing seems to bother my kids but tonight's show, which I totally wash my hands of, is really scary.”
For anyone who grew up watching The Simpsons, the Treehouse Of Horror Halloween specials are an annual horror staple, from spooky couch gag to horror-themed credits. You can learn an awful lot of things just from watching the show, but for younger audiences, these episodes gave us our introduction to certain iconic horror stories.
Having ditched the early framing device of the family telling scary stories to one another, with Springfielders cast in key roles, the format is now closer to a mini-anthology of terror with three stories that take place outside of canon. This has usually given the writers licence to be more gruesome and outlandish than in the regular series,...

Ooh, there's nothing quite like Saturday morning television to ease you into the weekend, is there? Well, Steve Jones and Lisa Snowdon are hoping that they'll be the ones helping you out of your hangovers and accompanying your eggs and soldiers with their new show Weekend Kitchen with Waitrose. We got them on the phone to have a good old natter about what makes Saturday morning telly...
Do... make sure your show is about more than just cooking
Steve: "Although it's called Weekend Kitchen, it's not a show about cooking. I think the idea behind the title is that the kitchen is the heart of the home - it's where most of the fun things happen in a household, and that's kind of what we're going for. It's not all in the kitchen - it's basically a living room with a kitchen attached. We're interviewing celebrities on set, we're in the kitchen,...

While live-blogging the Oscars you really don't get too much of a chance to take in all the acceptance speeches. I catch a few moments here and there, and I can pretty much tell when the air is being let out of the room as well as those moments where someone is really capturing the moment. What I've put together below are the five speeches where I think the winner really managed to stand-out. I also love the true excitement coupled with the words chosen in these speeches. Lupita Nyong'o (12 Years a Slave, especially, seemed to capture the room with her infectious smile as much as Jennifer Lawrence a year before, not to forget her brother, Peter, who photobombed Ellen's Twitter-breaking selfie and is clearly someone very special in Lupita's life and she in his. The only truly strange thing about these speeches is John Ridley and Steve McQueen failing...
