Producers for the Discover Channel show Naked and Afraid revealed the most “heartbreaking” moment contestants face on the show. While acknowledging its mental anguish for those who appear, they said when some of the participants “start to crack,” they sometimes make choices they’re sure to regret. And according to them, coming to one decision is the most “tragic” thing they could do.

Discovery is set to debut a new edition of the survival series “Naked and Afraid” next year — with the added twist that this time, franchise veterans will be dropped into the middle of the wilderness alone.
Dubbed “The Alone Edition,” the latest “Naked and Afraid” spinoff is set to debut on Sunday, Jan. 5.
Among the franchise veterans set to take their shot at surviving alone for 21 days are Luke McLaughlin (North Carolina), Gary Golding (California), Lacey Jones (Illinois), and Max Djenohan (Washington). Each begins the Alone challenge with solo performance rating based on their previous experiences. Discovery will also air their previous appearances on the show leading up to the new episodes.

Get ready! Teen Mom fans are about to see a side of Maci Bookout they have never seen before. The 26-year-old MTV star will be appearing on an upcoming episode of Naked and Afraid. Maci will be testing out her survival skills on the celebrity edition of the hit Discovery show — and she recently opened up about her survival skills. There are deadly, poisonous snakes — and then there is the fer-de-lance.
On Sunday’s season finale of “Naked and Afraid, ” entitled “Pick Your Poison,” search and rescue expert Anthony and mother-of-four Suzänne are fending for themselves in the jungles of Brazil. Among them are swarming wasps, deadly anacondas, poisonous toads and venomous stingrays. And a “freakin’ pissed” fer-de-lance snake.
In the clip above, which is exclusive to TheWrap, the pair come across one of the deadliest reptiles known to man, and Anthony uses his survival experience to try to kill it before it can kill them. Oh, and so they can eat it. When he goes in to battle, Suzanne gives him this sage advice, “Do. Not. Get. Bit.”
