- Oliver Kahn is a German former footballer and one of the most celebrated goalkeepers in the history of the game. He started his career at hometown club Karlsruher SC, but was soon bought by Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, where he made his name. - Kahn was a passionate football player even as a child. His father recognized and encouraged his talent at school age, but his parents still insisted on vocational training in addition to sports. Oliver Kahn got his start in team sports in the mid-1970s with "Karlsruher SC" as a field player in the F-youth team. After graduating from high school, Kahn studied economics. In 1987, Oliver Kahn made it into the professional squad of "Karlsruher SC". Here Kahn was able to demonstrate his talent as a goalkeeper for the first time in the Bundesliga in November 1990. After a short time, after spectacular actions in goal, he became the KSC's star player. Thanks to Kahn's performance at KSC, FC Bayern also became aware of him. In 1994, Kahn moved from "Karlsruher SC" to the German record champions, "FC Bayern-Munich" for 4.6 million DM.

After reaching the semi-finals against Argentina, the team under captain Michael Ballack lost 0-2 goals in extra time against Italy on July 4, 2006. In the game for third place on July 8th in Stuttgart, Oliver Kahn was named goalkeeper and the German team won 3-1 against Portugal. With this game, Kahn ended his career as a national goalkeeper. The triumph of the 2006 World Cup title went to Italy in the final on July 9th, to which France lost on penalties. At the "Bambi" media award ceremony in December 2006, Oliver Kahn was honored in the "Sport" category. Kahn ended his active career as a player for FC Bayern Munich, where he played 429 times, on May 17, 2008. Kahn's farewell game took place on September 2, 2008 in the Allianz Arena between FC Bayern Munich and the German team National team instead (1:1). In the same year, 2008, he became a football expert for Second German Television (ZDF). From 1999 to 2009 he was married to Simone Belz, with whom he had two children. From 2009, Kahn studied general management and sports management at the private university Schloss Seeburg. In 2011 he completed his studies with a Master of Business Administration.
On July 8, 2011, Kahn married the model Svenja Kögel. Together they became parents of two children. In 2016 he founded the company Goalplay, whose aim is to train goalkeepers online. From 2017 he supported the Saudi Arabian Football Association, and the "Oliver Kahn International Academy" was founded.
