Doc. Mgr. Antonin Weiser A.C.K. , director of photography, camera operator, VFX specialist, professor on cinematography department of film university FAMU in Prague, Czech republic. Up till now he has worked on over 1600 films and television projects, one of them awarded with EMMY - 2002 ( The Power of Good - category Documentary) .
Antonin Weiser was born in 1952 in Prague, Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic). He graduated FAMU as film and television camera operator in 1979. In 1980 his student short movie "Motion" was awarded in student category on international short film festival in Oberhausen, Germany . In 1980 he was working in Barrandov film studio as special effects cinematographer, and has witnessed the changes from in-camera "analog" special effects to contemporary methods. After 1989 he started working as director of photography, in Czech Republic and Germany.
Since 1994 he become a professor on FAMU, czech film academy, and cinematography department, and he is working there till nowadays.
In 1997 he produced with his company Digital Media Production first DVD movie in Europe, "KOLJA" (Oscar winning czech movie).
He worked as director of photography on EMMY winning documentary movie The Power of Good (2002).
In 2004 Antonin Weiser was named docent (czech official title) on FAMU Film Academy, university in Prague.
Since 2006 he is owner of european patent for special green screen background Artebox.
Alongside his colleague Marek Jicha, he organized the project NAKI MKCR - "Methodics of digitalization of the national film archive" (2013 - 2017). In 2017 - 2021 he was working on scientific research - project digital cinematographic scanner for film raw material Oxberry 16/35 mm.
As director of photography, Antonin Weiser has worked on over 1246 television show episodes, 315 television drama series and shows, 41 full length movies, 35 documentary movies/films, and 54 television advertisements. Many of them are part of Czech film legacy, and are beloved by multiple generations.
Currently, he is working as director of photography, director and organizer of advanced VFX sequences production, and pedagogical and research work at FAMU - Film Academy in Prague.
