Jenna Johnson has revealed her dream dance partners as Dancing With the Stars Season 33 approaches.
Johnson appeared in DWTS Season 32, where she tried to guide model Tyson Beckford to the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.
Unfortunately, Beckford was eliminated earlier than Johnson’s previous dance partners due to an average score of 15.0 per dance.
Before that, Johnson and her celebrity partners for the five previous seasons finished among the top eight contestants.
That included a Season 26 win alongside Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon and back-to-back second-place finishes in Seasons 29 and 30.
She recently talked about who she’d love to work with, whether it’s DWTS’ regular format with new celebrity contestants or an All-Star edition.

“Dancing with the Stars” premiered in 2005 with a focus on teaching celebrities some fancy footwork. But along the way the professional dancers who teach and partner with those celebrity amateurs became stars in their own right. Many of them returned to the show year after year, and over a dozen have won the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy over the course of the series. Scroll down to see every single “DWTS” pro champion, listed by their number of victories.
It’s fitting that the “DWTS” pros have become fan-favorites because they’re not just dancers. They’re also trainers, choreographers and storytellers, and their chemistry with the stars fuels the show’s best routines, so they’re truly the lifeblood of the competition, especially when they bring talent and charisma out of unexpected places, from child stars to race car drivers to one male model, Nyle Dimarco, who won the Mirror...

“Len was just charming, and that’s how I remember him even at 12-years-old,” said ballroom dancer, six-time Mirror Ball champion and now “Dancing with the Stars” judge Derek Hough on “Most Memorable Year Night.” He was reminiscing about Len Goodman, who had judged “DWTS” since its very first season in 2005. But he decided to retire from the show at the end of the 2022 season, and then he passed away in April 2023. The show paid tribute to the late, great Goodman with a special group dance. Watch the entire segment above.
“He’s been in my life since the very beginning,” remembered Mark Ballas. Indeed, for many “DWTS” pros Goodman’s influence began well before the dance competition series first came on the air almost two decades ago. “He was very well respected within the ballroom community,” explained Kim Johnson-Herjavek. Ballas added, “He was a big-time judge when we were all starting to compete.

Goodman brought years of experience to both DWTS and its British iteration, Strictly Come Dancing, and appeared on both shows since their inception.
The emotional footage kicked off with a pre-recorded package featuring the pros speaking about their memories of Goodman.

It’s been six months beloved judge Len Goodman passed, but Dancing with the Stars isn’t ready to say goodbye just yet.
Though Tuesday’s theme was Most Memorable Year, the Week 5 episode was really meant to honor Goodman, who died from prostate cancer in April at the age of 78. After airing a sentimental package featuring past pros talking about what an honor it was to be both complimented and criticized by Goodman, the episode then featured a dance tribute to “Moon River” that was waltzed to perfection by current pros and past faves Kym Johnson, Anna Trebunskaya, Karina Smirnoff, Edyta Sliwinska, Tony Dovolani, Louis van Amstel, Maks Chmerkovskiy and Mark Ballas.
It ended with the troupe gesturing to an empty middle chair on the judges’ dais. Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli wept.

"I want to know how I'll die." An official trailer is out for an indie film titled Dark Feathers, described as a psychological thriller involving samurai set in California. It's co-directed, produced by, and stars a Chinese actress named Crystal J. Huang, playing a woman named Kate. Michael Madsen also dons a Japanese Kimono as a "white samurai" operating a traditional clan in modern San Francisco. "With an elegant plot about dancing and martial arts, and a gorgeous cast including multiple world class Dancing with the Stars, the film raises the question about if the mystery of a murder can possibly be solved by logical reasoning." Also with Gilles Marini, Karina Smirnoff, Lan Kay, Scott Lea, and Kyosuke Mukai. A woman must choose loyalty to a historical Asian clan, or her non-traditional love, amidst the deaths of her dance partners being investigated by her new lover. This looks rather strange,...

Karina Smirnoff hasn’t been on “Dancing with the Stars” in five years, but if she were to return, it would not be in pursuit of another Mirrorball trophy. “I would definitely enjoy judging,” Smirnoff told Parade.com. “I don’t know if I would go back as a dancer. I think there’s a right time in life for everything.”
The pro spent 18 seasons on “Dancing,” winning Season 13 with J.R. Martinez, and last competed on Season 22 in spring 2016 with Doug Flutie, where they finished in ninth place. Smirnoff, who stars in the new film “Tango Shalom,” left when her contract was up to return to the world of competitive dancing.

Tango Shalom, where a female tango dancer (Dancing with the Stars champion Karina Smirnoff) invites an Orthodox Jewish Rabbi (Jos Laniado) to enter a televised dance competition, was an arthouse standout this weekend with a per screen average of over $4,000 at four theaters in New York and LA. The solid performance in a generally dour specialty market shows the power of older demos when they want to come out, nudged in this case by a targeted postcard mailing blitz, according to Atlas Distribution President Harmon Kaslow.
Tango Shalom is distributed worldwide by Vision Films with Atlas managing U.S. theatrical.
Kaslow thinks the comedy, directed by Gabriel Bologna with a sweet message and a star (Lainie Kazan) and producer (Joel Zwick) from the 2002 breakout hit My Big, Fat Greek Wedding, also benefitted from an exclusive theatrical run. Distributors have been noting the one-two boon of a decent window (60 days in...

Dancing With the Stars pro Karina Smirnoff did her civic duty on Election Day, and even scored the sticker to prove it. Karina, however, did not rock the "I Voted" emblem like many other celebs did on social media: Instead, she placed the sticker on her 7-month-old baby boy, Theo Gabriel. "My everything!" the dancer wrote in the caption of her Instagram post of Theo, followed by several heart emojis. "#TheoGabriel #wevoted #ivoted #firstelection #theloveofmylife #myworld #babyboy." Karina welcomed her son in April, but this is the first time the star has shared a photo of Theo on social media. In December 2019, the 42-year-old announced she was expecting a...

“Dancing with the Stars” pro Lindsay Arnold will soon have a new tiny dancer to train: The Season 25 champ is pregnant with her first child.
Arnold announced the happy news on Instagram Wednesday, posting two photos of herself, her husband Sam Cusick and a sonogram. “Ohhhhhh baby ,” she wrote on Instagram. “Mom and Dad love you already #November2020 #pregnant#pregnancyannouncement”
A November due date means the 26-year-old would miss the next season of “Dancing” should a 29th installment be able to film in September pending loosening lockdown restrictions. After making her pro debut in Season 16, Arnold returned in Season 21 and has not missed a season since, winning Season 25 with Jordan Fisher. She finished in sixth place last fall with Sean Spicer.
The news also comes six months after Arnold’s mother-in-law Jennifer died unexpectedly. She missed two episodes of “Dancing” (Jenna Johnson filled in for her), including Spicer’s elimination.

James Van Der Beek is one of the 12 celebrities on “Dancing with the Stars” Season 28, but this won’t be his first time on the show. Sort of.
Remember “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23”? The short-lived ABC sitcom that ran from two seasons on which the “Dawson’s Creek” alum played a vain, narcissistic version of himself? Yeah, well, that James Van Der Beek was on “Dancing.” In the “Apartment 23” Season 1 finale, which aired in May 2012, James is cast on “Dancing” and develops a heated rivalry with Dean Cain after he learns that the former Superman has a larger dressing room.
The storyline carried over into Season 2, and Karina Smirnoff, who at the time had just won Season 13 of “Dancing” with J.R. Martinez, guest-starred as Dean’s partner. James wasn’t partnered with a real “Dancing” pro on the show, but rather the fictional Angie Beckencort (Missi Pyle), who was not great,...

Is “Dancing with the Stars” getting ready for one last turn on the dance floor? The long-running series won’t air in the spring next year and will return in the fall with its 28th installment, which might be its final season, according to Us Weekly.
A source tells the magazine that there have been discussions of Season 28 being the final one, with many feeling like the show has “hit its mark.” If that indeed will be the case, producers and ABC are already looking to lure back a bunch of old pros, like Derek Hough and Karina Smirnoff. “They want to have a great last season if there is just one season left,” the source said.
It should be noted that ABC has yet to officially renew “Dancing” for a 28th season, but it’s expected to be back in fall 2019. ABC approved Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews to...

Fifteen pros have won “Dancing with the Stars” through 26 seasons, one of them being Witney Carson. The Season 19 champ, with Alfonso Ribeiro, is back in the final with Milo Manheim, putting her one step closer to becoming just the eighth pro to claim multiple Mirrorball trophies.
Of the 15, seven pros have won “Dancing” more than once. The undisputed king of “Dancing” is Derek Hough, who has won a record six times, including going back-to-back twice. The two-time Emmy winner also never finished worse than sixth place, which happened twice, during his 17-season run on the show, which might be even more impressive.
No one else has come remotely close to even matching Hough’s record, as the other six multiple champs — Cheryl Burke, Julianne Hough, Mark Ballas, Kym Johnson, Peta Murgatroyd and Val Chmerkovskiy — just have two victories. Burke and Chmerkovskiy were both chasing a third win this season, but...

Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten‘s “Dancing with the Stars” showmance will literally be just for show: 63 percent of our readers believe it will end as soon as Season 27 wraps up in two weeks. Shocking, we know.
Now we doubt so many of you are cynical about love, but it is hard to believe in a relationship that feels utterly contrived and downright cringe-worthy, from the staged proclamations of “feelings” to an on-camera kiss. If I fell for someone on a non-dating TV show and were serious about it, I would not agree to film our kiss for millions of people to see. Just saying. How many takes do you think they had to do? “A little less tongue this time, guys. This is a family show.” “Alan, hold her head two degrees to the left. No, our left.”

Juan Pablo Di Pace and Cheryl Burke received the first perfect score of the season on “Dancing with the Stars” for their sizzling samba. Is he the favorite to win now? Hard to say. There’s still lots of weeks of dancing left, and there are a bunch of formidable contenders, like DeMarcus Ware, Tinashe and Milo Manheim. Plus, getting the first perfect score of the season isn’t a ticket to the Mirrorball trophy.
In the last 26 seasons, only 11 couples who earned the first perfect score of the season — a 30 or a 40, depending on the judging panel — went on to win the whole show. Five of them ended up in second place, and there were a few shocking eliminations in there, specifically Sabrina Bryan, who nabbed the first 30 twice, in Season 5 and the all-stars outing, only to be eliminated early — and five years to the day exactly.

If Maksim Chmerkovskiy doesn’t get tapped to be a “Dancing with the Stars” judge, you won’t say no to a six-time champ: 40 percent of our readers would also like former pro Derek Hough to critique celebrities’ fancy footwork.
Hough, whose sister Julianne judged Seasons 19 through 24, was the runaway favorite in the poll, which is not shocking at all. His six Mirrorball wins are a record — no other pro has more than two — and was a fan favorite during his tenure on the show. The only problem is a pretty big one: Since his last outing on Season 23, Hough has gone on to judge NBC’s “World of Dance,” which launches its second season this summer.
See ‘Dancing with the Stars: Athletes’: Let’s break down the cast
There was a tie in second place at 18 percent between Hough’s Bff and two-time champ Mark Ballas and all-stars champ Tony Dovolani.

More than 60 percent of readers voted in a recent poll calling for Maksim Chmerkovskiy to be a ‘Dancing with the Stars’ judge. He really, really wants to do it too. By all appearances, ABC is just sticking with the original three judges, Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli, for the forthcoming all-athletes season, and Chmerkovskiy is otherwise preoccupied with his tour anyway. But if the show were to add another pro as a judge — and if it’s not Chmerkovskiy — who should it be?
Let’s look at six possibilities — all former champs, many of whom have left the show or are/were on extended breaks.

While female Olympians have struck Mirrorball glory on “Dancing with the Stars,” it’s a different story for the dudes. The most successful male athletes on the show are football players. Shocking, right? (Not.) Of the 10 athletes that have won “Dancing” in its first 25 seasons, six were men and four of those men were pigskin players. So you can probably book a football player or two for the upcoming “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes.” But which of these six champs has your vote?
The first male athlete to win “Dancing” was Dallas Cowboys great Emmitt Smith, who won Season 3 in 2006 with Cheryl Burke over Mario Lopez and Karina Smirnoff, who outscored Smith and Burke during the season. Smith and Burke reteamed for the all-star season and finished fourth.

Val Chmerkovskiy isn’t the only one still haunted by his and Zendaya‘s “Dancing with the Stars” loss on Season 16. In a recent poll, a massive 70 percent of our readers believe the pair should’ve won over Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough.
“Of course they were robbed, big-time!” user K.bell wrote. “Zendaya danced her ass off each time and was so talented. Derek and Kelli [sic] were good, but no way was she better than Zendaya. Val was right to feel the way he does because its [sic] the absolute truth.”
