- A punk rock band from the Bay Area. They are considered by many one of the greatest American punk rock bands of all time, along with Green Day, The Offspring and many others.
- (To date) Members have included Tim Armstrong, Lars Frederiksen (who joined in 1993), Matt Freeman, Brett Reed (who left in 2006), Branden Steineckert (who replaced Brett in 2006).
- (As of March 2009) Released six albums so far. The first album that broke Rancid into the rock mainstream was their 1994 second album "Let's Go", with the single "Salvation" (which featured a music video, as did "Nihilism"). This success would only grow with its 1995 follow-up "...And Out Come the Wolves", which produced their best-known hits "Roots Radicals", "Ruby Soho" and "Time Bomb", and was certified gold and platinum by the RIAA.
