From reissued, obscure first films to misleading marketing, here are 12 film covers that exaggerate the role their famous actors play...
Filmmaker William Castle was famous for his movie gimmicks, from vibrating chairs to plastic skeletons soaring over the heads of audiences in cinemas. The marketers of 1958's The Fly, meanwhile, promised to pay $100 to the first person who could prove that its matter-transportation plot "couldn't happen".
Selling movies to cynical punters is tough at the best of times, and using tricks and white lies to get people to part with their hard-earned cash is nothing new. And one of the simplest tricks in a film marketer's tool bag is to exaggerate an actor's role in whatever it is they're trying to sell. So if uncredited bit player number two suddenly becomes an A-list star three years after a movie's shot, you can be...

While it doesn.t have the charm of the 1985 original, the remake of Fright Night is a CGI-slick horror romp that provides some laughs and even a few scares thanks to a menacing Colin Farrell. Directed by Craig Gillespie with writing chores handled by Marti Noxon (based on the original story written by Tom Holland), the film stars Anton Yelchin, Farrell, Toni Collette, David Tennant, Imogen Poots, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Dave Franco, Reid Ewing, Will Denton, Sandra Vergara, and Emily Montague. It also features a great cameo by Fright Night's original vampire Chris Sarandon. Moving the setting to Las Vegas, the remake follows the basic plot of the original with awkward high school teenager Charlie Brewster (Yelchin) starting...

Camp Hell
Stars: Dana Delany, Andrew McCarthy, Caroline London, Will Denton, Bruce Davison, Jesse Eisenberg, Connor Paolo | Written and Directed by George VanBuskirk
When reviewing a movie about a Christian summer camp and you are an atheist it’s quite an interesting prospect really. You have to try not to judge the characters for their beliefs and you have to try and watch it as a film where the events are affected by their religion, not your own beliefs. Or of course you can beat your chest as a disbeliever and pour scorn on the people in the movie for being silly for believing in something you do not. For me I went for what I saw was the fairer view and went with their belief system.
This is the story of ultra-Christianity in some respect. When Tommy goes to Christian camp he’s already having a crisis of faith.

(Martin Scorsese, 2011, Us) Asa Butterfield, Ben Kingsley, Chloë Grace Moretz, Sacha Baron Cohen. 126 mins.
Eyebrows were raised and expectations lowered at the prospect of a Scorsese-made 3D family movie – but now it all makes sense. This is less a kids' romp than a hymn to early cinema – sugar-coated with a junior steampunk adventure revolving around an Parisian orphan and his mystery automaton. It's a satisfyingly lavish affair technically, with a story that's intelligent and heartfelt.
We Have A Pope (PG)
(Nanni Moretti, 2011, Ita/Fra) Nanni Moretti, Michel Piccoli, Jerzy Stuhr. 105 mins.
Moretti's Vatican satire is wry rather than scathing, which will disappoint many. But there's fun to be had as Piccoli's panicked new pope seeks therapy from Moretti's secular psychoanalyst.
Surviving Life (15)
(Jan Svankmajer, 2010, Cze) Václav Helsus, Klára Issová, Zuzana Krónerová. 109 mins.
More light-hearted Freudian comedy, with Monty Python-style cut-out animation, as a middle-aged man prefers his dream world to reality,...

Star of The Social Network is suing Lionsgate for misleading the public about his small role in horror film
From the cover of the DVD, it appears to be a newly released horror film starring The Social Network's Jesse Eisenberg, but anyone renting a copy of Camp Hell may be in for a different kind of shock to the one they shelled out for. The Oscar-nominated actor is suing studio Lionsgate for falsely advertising his small cameo, which he filmed in 2007 as a favour to friends, as a lead role in the low budget movie.
Eisenberg's $3m suit, which was filed at the Los Angeles superior court last week, points out that recent marketing for the film features a large photograph of the actor along with his name above the title. Anyone thinking about viewing Camp Hell would be led to believe that he is featured prominently, he argues.

Despite what I say in the following paragraphs; I enjoyed Camp Hell. A lot. Does it have some flaws? Yes. Is it what the title suggests? No. It doesn't even have many of the elements that make a great horror movie. What it does have is an interesting story, endearing characters, quality acting and a narrative that, while slow at times, pulled me so far into the drama that I didn't care that the name was deceiving or that, while it did have some scary moments, it was almost unrecognizable as a horror film.
Another misleading thing about Camp Hell is that, despite the DVD cover art, it does not star Jessie Eisenberg. He plays a bit part that is an integral piece of the story, but a bit part nonetheless. The real star here is Will Denton who turns in a stunning and natural performance as the confused,...

Almost all of the horror film elements are saved for the finale. We were lucky enough to speak to George VanBuskirk the director behind Camp Hope (aka Camp Hell). The film features Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland, Cursed), Spencer Treat Clark (The Last House on the Left), Connor Paolo (Gossip Girl), Bruce Davison (X-Men), Dana Delany (Desperate Houewives) and Andrew McCarthy (Less Than Zero, Mannaquin). Camp Hell has been described as "a tender coming of age yarn with illicit sex and demons". So hopefully with Camp Hell, VanBuskirk will capture that sense of morality and death like earlier classics Prom Night (featuring Jamie Lee Curtis) or Friday the 13th (with the legendary Betsy Palmer) where teenagers got punished for their bad behavior with a ghastly death! Here's what George VanBuskirk had to say about Camp Hell.

Right out of the gate, NBC has not been pleased with the performance of one of its newest serial dramas, Kidnapped. As a result, the peacock network has decided to cut the story short -- but thankfully won't leave viewers hanging.
Kidnapped is a new series that tells the story of a wealthy New York City couple (Timothy Hutton and Dana Delany) whose teenage son (Will Denton) is abducted and, the investigative team assigned to find him (headed by an ex-fbi operative played by Jeremy Sisto).
The series premiere of Kidnapped on September 20, 2006 garnered a mediocre 7.5 million viewers, losing to a repeat of Grey's Anatomy by three million viewers. The second and third episodes dipped even lower with 6.3 million viewers each.
As a result, NBC will move Kidnapped to Saturday nights (beginning October 21, 2006). They've also decided to shorten the planned 22 episode order to 13 episodes. Fortunately, with such advance notice, the...
