India’s Amit Sadh is a busy actor these days with a streaming series due imminently, another in the works and two feature films.
Season 2 of psychological thriller “Breathe: Into the Shadows,” created by Mayank Sharma and produced by Abundantia Entertainment for Amazon Prime Video, sees Sadh’s police officer on the trail of an antagonist with an alter ego, played by Abhishek Bachchan. The series, a spin-off from 2018 series “Breathe,” which also featured Sadh’s character, continues where the first season left off.
“When I read the script I said it is the best – it is pacier, it is faster, it is meaner, it is darker and it has the right amount of thrill and realism and great visuals which look big and fascinating,” Sadh told Variety. “And that’s why we chose to be in the business of movies. NetflixDirected by Vinay Waikul, ‘Aranyak’ stars Raveena Tandon as the police station head of a small town whose seeming idyllic and slow pace of life is disrupted by a horrific crime.Saraswati DatarFirst things first – Ott shows or any form of content that can be accessed on personal devices should come with trigger warnings. Including scenes of a young adult attempting suicide without any loud and clear trigger warnings is extremely irresponsible. Aranyak and the other release this weekend, Aarya Season 2, have graphic scenes of an attempted suicide with no trigger warnings. Please ditch the fear of spoilers at a time when the collective mental health of the nation/globe has hit rock bottom. We owe this to the viewers. Missing trigger warning apart, Aranyak, written by Charudutt Acharya and directed by Vinay Waikul, is an entertaining watch. Mumbai, Feb 19: Sumeet Vyas felt like he was acting in a play while shooting for Mahesh Manjrekar's upcoming web series, 1962: The War In The Hills. The reason, he explained, is because both Manjrekar and he come from a theatre background.
"I have always been a fan of Mahesh sir's work and had hoped to do a project with him one day. With 1962: The War In the Hills, I finally got that opportunity," Sumeet said.
"Since he too has a background in theatre like me, I almost felt like I was acting in a play. For me there is nothing better than working with a theatre personality because I feel I can relate to them in the best way," he added.
Sumeet essays a soldier in the C-Company battalion in the forthcoming war drama web series. His character is named Ramkumar Yadav.

When a script fights the battle amongst hundreds more and finally makes it onto the big screen you know that it must be special. Charudutt Acharya’s Sonali Cable is one such script which was chosen at the Mumbai Mantra-Sundance Institute Screenwriters Lab 2012. What intrigues even more is the production house backing the film, one that is known for taking quite the creative risks in recent times and the young versatile cast.
Sonali Cable at heart is your classic David versus Goliath storyline. The small underdog who is wronged by the big guy finally emerges and triumphs against all odds. However, that is not to say Sonali Cable doesn’t excite and surprise. It does plenty of that! Firstly, it grabs your attention for being the David vs Goliath story that features a girl as its hero. Then there are the endearing and not-so-endearing yet extremely riveting characters the said hero is surrounded by.

The makers of Sonali Cable have made a series of short videos that are going viral on the internet, with names like ‘Klpd’, ‘Kissing Burji’, ‘Buffering’… and what not… these videos are getting viewed in lakhs all across the globe, an innovative promotion, and we are certainly impressed with their thinking.
When asked Rohan Sippy, the producer of the film how this whole thing came about, he said, “We wanted to people to get what the film is about, like we say in Sonali Cable,’Sonali kabhi offline nahi jati!’ we wanted that to come across in these videos. I think Amritpal Singh Bindra and Anand Tiwari who have made these videos have done a fabulous job!”

Charudutt Acharya, whose directorial debut Sonali Cable is all set to hit the silver screen is brimming with excitement for not only it is his first project, it is also a film he has written! Thanking his stars for the exceptional team, Acharya cannot help but feel lucky about the brilliant actors he roped in for his first film. In fact the director says he has become a fan of his lead pairs, Ali Fazal and Rhea Chakraborty, especially about leading lady, he says, “Rhea is young, when I saw her at the audition I felt her raw energy which I personally liked about her. Before starting the shoot of the film, I kept workshops for 6 weeks. During the workshops we used to rehearse each scene day and night. I am glad that during the workshop each actor contributed their 100%, no doubt there was lot of time invested but no one ever complained about it.

Director-Producer Rohan Sippy’s Dum Maaro Dum and Nautanki Saala’s writer Charudutt Acharya, will have his directorial debut with Sonali Cable. The one thing that makes him confident is the fact that he has first-hand seen the Internet Broadband war and has converted that experience into his first directorial venture.
While talking about this, director says, “If I say Sonali Cable is my story, it won’t be wrong. Seven – eight years ago when I used to write for television, I had to send a story on urgent basis anyhow, when I was done with story and was about to send that time my internet connection failed. This happened during the time when our cell phones did not have internet and it was late at night, no cyber cafes were open. I was worried but that time I remembered an 18 years old girl’s number who used to work for that internet service provider.

Sonali Cable was set to release on big screen on October 10, but now it has been pushed to October 17. Rohan wants his lead actress Rhea to promote the film for some more time; hence the date of release was changed. But unfortunately it turns out that Yash Raj Films, which manages Rhea’s work, has not allotted Rhea’s dates to the filmmaker.
A inside source close of the filmmaker says, “Yrf was informed in advance about this possible change of date and in any case, small budget films need to be promoted. So we need Rhea’s dates but Yrf has not given her dates for a week. It’s unfortunate that they are doing this with regards to their talent working for another producer.”
Rohan Sippy admits confirms that they are currently facing issues with Rhea’s dates. “I don’t know if she can promote the film or not.

While shooting for ‘Ek Mulaqat’ song, Ramesh Sippy had dropped by the sets of Sonali Cable. It was late evening and the film’s lead pair, Rhea Chakraborty and Ali Fazal, were shooting a lovemaking scene that takes place in the middle of a romantic track.”Their nervousness was visible on camera and dad took them and the director Charu (Charudutt Acharya) to the makeup van and, moment by moment, explained the choreography of hands, eyes and body language that would make the scene sensual and memorable,” recalls Rohan Sippy, co-producer of the film.
He further recollects, “With such expert guidance from him, the actors were able to pull off the scene and this time chemistry was great.” Rohan quipped that his dad explained how to draw out the moment of intimacy, the transitory touches, which made it all the more exciting and adoring.

Sonali says, to survive in Mumbai, you don’t need a college degree – just b*lls! She, along with her band of ghetto boys runs a thriving business providing broadband to a sprawling Mumbai neighbourhood. Her childhood sweetheart returns from the United States and helps bring her small enterprise into the 21st century. Complications arise when Shining Inc, a huge corporation run by the self made Vaghela (Anupam Kher) wants her out to complete their monopoly of Broadband Internet in the city. Sonali refuses… and it’s war! The film incorporates themes about the growing nexus between corporations and politicians, and the increasing helplessness of the ordinary citizen in the face of greedy corporations. This is a character driven, edgy survival drama of a girl and her rag-tag family of internet cable technicians for whom Sonali Cable is more than a livelihood… it’s their home!

No one could see this coming but it has happened. Even before her first film with Yash Raj is yet to release, newbie Rhea Chakraborty has been lapped by Rohan Sippy for his next film which is interestingly titled Sonali Cable.
"Rhea would be making her Bollywood debut with Mere Dad Ki Maruti. Even though she has a three film contract with Yash Raj, she is free to work in outside productions. The one which she has consented to is Sonali Cable", informs a source.
The film is about a cable centre run by a girl named Sonali. Though the title indicates a comic film in the offering, something which is also the genre of Rhea's Mere Dad Ki Maruti, there would be fair deal of intense scenes as well in Sonali Cable.
"Incidentally this is also a woman centric film which is in sharp contrast to Rohan's Nautanki Saala!
