Executive produced by celebrated actresses Eva Longoria and Dania Ramirez, who will also voice a character in the show, the 8-part scripted series tells the true story of the courageous Latina siblings, known as the Mirabal sisters, whose lifelong activism in the Dominican Republic and state-orchestrated assassination led to the downfall of one of the most brutal and enduring dictators of the 20th Century, Rafael Trujillo (aka El Jefe). Buffer Festival, a film festival and marketplace that looks to celebrate premiere projects in the digital sphere, has announced the initial lineup of creators who will showcase their latest works at its 7th annual gathering. Buffer Festival will be held from Oct. 4 to 6 at the Tiff Bell Lightbox in Toronto.
Over 20% of the creators attending Buffer this year will be there for the first time, the festival says, including comedy vlogger Mac 'MacDoesIt' Kahey (pictured above), trans non-binary YouTube star Ash Hardell, humor writer and digital storyteller Evelyn From The Internets, BuzzFeed's Freddie Ransome (of the publisher's 'Ladylike' squad), Sharlene Taulé from the Fox musical drama Star, and Hedy Clark -- the 14-year-old U.K. YouTuber and animator.
Returning Buffer attendees include filmmaking collective Wong Fu Productions, vlogger Elle Mills, comedy creator and musician Jon Cozart, sex expert Shannon Boodram, actress Whitney Avalon, YouTuber-filmmaker Pj Liguori, and author Melanie Murphy.

Paris Jackson, the only daughter of music icon Michael Jackson, has separated from her boyfriend, Michael Snoddy.
Jackson, 18, recently chose to end the relationship after less than a year, a source confirms to People.
But, as can be the case with young love, the source cautions that “circumstances could change” and the couple could reunite.
The breakup was first reported by Us Weekly.
While together, the two seemingly never shied away from public displays of affection. Jackson shared a photograph on Instagram of the two sharing a steamy kiss at her 18th birthday party last September.
Snoddy and Jackson also enjoyed vacations together.

"Cómplices," (Accomplices) which is now in advanced post-production stage, is a romantic comedy which marks the company’s first Dominican-shot film under the multi-picture deal signed with Pantelion Films.The film tells the story of an uncle who is forced to take his despondent nephew under his wing as they go on an exotic adventure to the Dominican Republic. The movie was directed by Luis Eduardo Reyes and produced by Leo Zimbrón, producer of the Mexican hit "Pulling Strings," with Sandra Condito and Lantica Pictures, Lantica Media’s production company. "Cómplices" features Mexican actors Arath De La Torre and Jesús Zavala as well as Dominican stars Liche Ariza, Paula Ferry, Sharlene Taulé and Claudette Lalí.
“The completion of principal photography on our first project under the multi-picture agreement with Pantelion Films is an achievement of which we are quite proud,” commented Antonio Gennari, CEO of Lantica Media. "It’s another step forward in strengthening the Dominican film industry and allowing the world to see what we have to offer”.
