Greg Daniels’ long-awaited spinoff series of “The Office” is finally taking shape.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sabrina Impacciatore (known for “The White Lotus”) and Domhnall Gleeson have been cast as the first two actors in the upcoming series.
Daniels, co-creator of the US version of “The Office,” has emphasized that the new series is a spinoff rather than a reboot, although it will share the same universe as the original show.
“I don’t like to think of anything as a reboot,” Daniels explained previously. “Because I feel like we ended that story beautifully. The characters had closure. I would never want to redo that same show with a different cast, because I think we got the luckiest cast, the best cast ever, in TV, to do that show. So the notion of a reboot is not of interest.”

Steve Carell is ready for a vacation after lending his dulcet tones to Illumination’s Despicable Me 4 and John Krasinski’s upcoming family comedy If. Thankfully, Netflix has a plane ticket with Carell’s name on it, so long as he’s willing to join the cast of The Four Seasons, a forthcoming comedy series led by Tina Fey.
The Four Seasons, a retread of the 1981 Universal movie of the same name, is a co-creation between Fey, her 30 Rock co-star Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield. Details about Carell’s character remain a mystery, though the cast list for Alan Alda’s 1981 comedy could provide some clues. In 1981’s The Four Seasons, three couples vacation together every season. After one couple divorces, feelings of betrayal and more spawn criticisms of one another, but the things that keep them together are stronger than those that might tear them apart. Alan Alda directed and wrote the 1981 version,...

Well, we have good news and bad news, All American fans. The good news is: You’ll be seeing more of Spencer and the gang this season. The bad news is: You might be seeing less of them next season.

Before becoming one of the leading directors of our time, Alex Garland made a name for himself in the literary field. His debut novel The Beach was translated into 25 languages and later made into a movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
The author wasn’t particularly involved in the film adaptation, but Danny Boyle found out about Garland and hired him as a screenwriter for his future innovative zombie horror film 28 Days Later, which became the writer’s ticket to the world of big cinema.
Now his fifth directorial project has been released – the large-scale military dystopia Civil War, A24's most expensive project and, according to many critics, Garland's best work.
Garland's Directing Career Began With an Undeniable Success
However, the beginning of Alex Garland's directorial career was no less successful – in 2014, his debut sci-fi thriller Ex Machina was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay and won a statuette for Best Visual Effects.

Originally envisioned as a British mockumentary spin-off starring Ricky Gervais and co-created by Steven Knight, The Office soon became one of the most popular sitcoms in history. Due to its popularity, the series has received numerous international versions, each dealing with the life of a small company dealing, in most cases, with paper. The American iteration starring Steve Carrell and John Krasinski is by far the most famous of these international versions, and if you remember, we have recently reported that the series would be getting another spin-off.
Plans for a spin-off of The Office have been there since 2008, and as we reported not that long ago, it has been confirmed that original showrunner Greg Daniels is indeed moving forward with a new version of the series. The series was, in the meantime, confirmed to be a spin-off rather than a reboot or revival of the original series. Today, we...

The Office is undoubtedly one of the best sitcom series ever to be made. Adapted from the British television series of the same name, both series have received critical acclaim and are hailed among some of the best TV shows to have been created. Greg Daniels and Michael Koman could return to The Office universe, with Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) as cast members of the proposed spinoff. Gleeson and Inpacciatore would be part of an ensemble for the project, which Deadline says is close to entering production. Plot details about The Office spinoff remain a mystery.
We know only a little about the project beyond its setting in The Office universe. Daniels wants fans to know it’s not a reboot, even though it takes place in the same arena as the Steve Carell-led mockumentary series focusing on the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company employees. Daniels says the new show could feature a camera crew doing a documentary about a subject outside the day-to-day lives of office workers surviving the daily grind and their toxic boss.
Domhnall Gleeson launched his acting career in 2001 as a character named Byrne in an episode of Rebel Heart.

We suppose this news was inevitable.
In the age of spinoffs, reboots, and ever-expanding franchises, a show as popular as The Office was going to return from the dead at some point.
Not only did the original series run for nine seasons on NBC, the Steve Carell-led cringe comedy has proven surprisingly successful with subsequent generations, becoming Netflix's most-streamed show before being reclaimed by Peacock.
When a series enjoys that sort of lingering popularity with zero promotion nearly a decade since its last new episode, you can be certain that some sort of reboot is coming.
Really, the only surprise is that it took this long.
According to new intel from The Hollywood Reporter, the long-rumored Office "sequel series" is officially a go at NBCUniversal.
Not only that, the show has already cast two series leads.

The new iteration of “The Office” currently in development has started to flesh out its cast.
Variety has confirmed with sources that Sabrina Impacciatore and Domhnall Gleeson are attached to the project, which remain in development at Universal Television. They would occupy two roles in what would be an ensemble cast, like the original versions of the show.
Reps for Utv declined to comment.
Greg Daniels and Michael Koman are co-creating the new series. It has previously been reported that it is not a reboot of “The Office” but is set in the same universe, meaning it would likely be set in a different office setting with all new characters.
Gleeson has recently starred in shows such as “Alice & Jack,” “The Patient,” “Frank of Ireland,” and “Run.” He is perhaps best known for his role as General Hux in the new “Star Wars” film trilogy. He has also starred in films such as “Frank,...

Creator Victor Levin and star Andrea Riseborough discussed their Masterpiece on PBS miniseries Alice & Jack at Deadline Contenders TV on Saturday. Riseborough plays Alice and Domhnall Gleeson plays Jack in the six-episode show that follows their relationship over 16 years. Riseborough said she often is frustrated that most conventional love stories worry about making the characters likable and perfectly moral.
“I know when I’m in love, I’m a total idiot and have no ability to behave even remotely like a normal human,” she said. “Everyone deserves to be a protagonist in their own love story.”
Riseborough acknowledged that Alice tends to close herself off to Jack’s love.

Sebastian Stan is exploring roles beyond the shadow of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and making quite a good impression out of it. Also, it seems the actor has a newfound interest in the horror genre. Stan appeared in two horror movies recently, including Mimi Cave’s Fresh and his most recent A Different Man.
Sebastian Stan in A Different Man
Stan has tested his tolerance level for a role as well. While his appearance in horror movies is well adjacent to the actor, one horror movie frightened the MCU star. Jennifer Lawrence, who led the movie, also endured intense nightmares.

Darren Aronofsky is one of the Hollywood directors who has created a legacy by making some of the most disturbing movies, including Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, and Mother! Particularly, Mother! was frightening, and its disturbing elements were not exclusive to the audience.

Colin Farrell has nothing but love for his home country, saying this week that he’s proud of the recent rise in Irish actor success in Hollywood.
“I mean, we punch so far above our weight,” Farrell, a native of Castleknock, Ireland, told Entertainment Tonight. “We’re only a country of 5 million people and I don’t know, Irish people — just whether it’s through music, the written word, whether it’s prose poetry, film, theater of course, we just — we have a deep connection to.”
He added that he feels his fellow countrymen share an appreciation of “the importance of story” and for “leaning into stories and meanings with which we understand ourselves and the world around us.”
Last month, Oppenheimer star Cillian Murphy became the first-ever Irish-born actor to win best actor at the Oscars. “I’m a very proud Irishman standing here tonight,” Murphy said from the stage.

Remarkably, celebrated filmmaker Alex Garland, 53, recently declared his intention to step away from filmmaking, citing a desire to pursue another artistic endeavor. As fans of his work mourn this news, it’s impossible not to think about the influential impact the London-born director had on the movie business with his sci-fi masterpiece, Ex Machina.
Even Garland expressed his admiration for this 2014 flick, which received critical acclaim for its thought-provoking look at artificial intelligence and won an Oscar for Best Visual Effects. Back in 2015, he revealed to The Guardian that, compared to everything he has worked on previously, he “feels more attached” to this movie.

Ninja Theory’s 2017 video game Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is cited as one of the best games of all time, but it would’ve never existed without director Alex Garland’s 2014 movie Ex Machina. Ninja Theory’s co-founder, Tameem Antoniades, once revealed that the movie, featuring Oscar Issac, inspired him to create the game.

He explained that Garland told him the idea and he decided to create the video game in a similar manner with a small budget. The result was 2017’s Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, which follows Senua, a Pict warrior who must make her way to Helheim while overcoming challenges to rescue the soul of her dead lover from the goddess Hela.

If anyone reading this is, as I am, out there on the dating apps and watching Masterpiece on PBS’ Alice & Jack (airing Sundays at 10/9c), you probably also are wondering why Domhnall Gleeson’s character keeps coming back for more.

When they first meet up at a bar, Alice (played by Academy Award nominee Andrea Riseborough) starts out by mocking Jack’s motivations as a biomedical researcher. If you look through some of the boldest, most ambitious works of the past few years, chances are you’ll find Andrea Riseborough on the call sheet.
The English actress has been involved in everything from Alejandro González Iñárritu’s dark comedy “Birdman” and Tom Ford’s neo-noir psychological thriller “Nocturnal Animals” to Panos Cosmatos’ action horror “Mandy” and Will Tracy’s bizarre political dramedy “The Regime.”
All of these memorable performances start with Oscar-nominated Riseborough’s dedication to keeping “an open mind.”
“I have no idea what’s good for me or what I should explore next. But when it’s in front of you, you know it,” Riseborough told TheWrap at the Television Critics Association’s 2024 winter tour. “It’s far better to not to force something into existence, if you know what I mean, because even if it comes to fruition, it lacks authenticity. Alice & Jack is the latest TV love story that spans several years. The Masterpiece on PBS series premieres on March 17 and follows the 15-year relationship between the haunted, thorny Alice (Andrea Riseborough) and quirky, sensitive Jack (Domhnall Gleeson). Their connection the moment they meet is something they can’t ever shake. Through marriages, a child, and deaths, Alice and Jack move in and out of each other’s lives. Sounds a lot like One Day, right? Well, Alice & Jack feels like the moody and jaded older sister in the enduring love stories family. One Day and Past Lives give off serious middle-child energy with all that yearning and Love, Rosie is the whimsical, funny youngest kid. Meanwhile, This Is Us is both mom and dad. There’s not a bit of rom-com in Alice & Jack, and that’s a good thing. It’s messy and raw. Alice...

Love stories don’t always get the rom-com edit. Alice & Jack, premiering March 17 on Masterpiece on PBS, is a modern love story that explores all the best and worst moments of a relationship that spans 15 years. “I think perhaps in episodic stories, I crave seeing characters whose relationships reflect more accurately the mess or the messy fallout of love,” series star Andrea Riseborough tells TV Insider. “Alice & Jack is a piece that is about two people who are getting things so horribly wrong and really causing such a mess in their wake but are unavoidably linked.” Despite complications from the start, Alice (Riseborough) and Jack (Domhnall Gleeson) form a “deep love” that’s “completely uncontrollable.” Riseborough adds, “It’s like, as a friend of mine would say, trying to ride a squirrel. There’s nothing predictable about it, but there’s something… Love can look like so many things,...

Andrea Riseborough opens up about Oscar nominations, falling in love, dancing with Cheryl Cole – and why she’s crocheting a Dobby house elf
Andrea Riseborough leaves great glutinous silences in a conversation, letting me hover on Zoom, half there with her in her white lounge in LA, and half simply alone and gazing. After she became famous playing Margaret Thatcher in The Long Walk to Finchley, and in the Madonna film We as a glamorous Wallis Simpson, and as a brittle Broadway actor in the Oscar-winning Birdman, I am curious to discover that in real life Riseborough looks as if Bette Davis had perhaps joined the Clash. She is poised and mischievous as she picks through a bag of peanut butter cups for breakfast, pulling generously at a loo roll to blow her nose.

Sterling K. Brown, who received an Oscar nomination for best actor in a supporting role for his turn as Clifford Ellison in “American Fiction,” doesn’t think he’ll be taking home the coveted trophy at this year’s awards ceremony.

4 Movies that explore human and robot relationships. ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
Within the cinematic storytelling world, a profound and engaging genre is rising with movies that explore human and robot relationships. These films explore the complex interactions that happen between human emotions, ethics, and existence and artificial intelligence. Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha will be one such film that will explore the bond between a human and a robot. It’s not the first time we will see a story like this, and it won’t be the last time. The film is scheduled to be released in theatres on February 9, 2023.
Movies about human-robot relationships offer a unique perspective of how these machines can not only make life easier but can also have a comforting effect. Technology has the power to help us connect with people from one corner of the world to the other.
