When Newsmax decided to do a segment on Elon Musk’s hosting gig on Saturday Night Live over the weekend, it booked comedy writer and speechwriter David Litt.
But Litt, who worked in the Obama White House, quickly tried to steer the interview into The Big Lie, or the unfounded claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen by Donald Trump.
Rob Finnerty, anchor of Newsmax’s Wake Up America, started by asking, “What did you think of Elon Musk’s performance? This is the first time since 2015 that we’ve had a non athlete, non entertainer on the show. The last person to do that and do well with great ratings, our former president Donald Trump.”
Litt answered, “Well Rob, it’s a great question. What happened on SNL this weekend is that people made stuff up and then said it on television like it is true. And that happens pretty frequently in American TV.

Newsmax issued an apology to an employee of Dominion Voting Systems who had named the media outlet in a defamation suit over false claims that he manipulated votes in the 2020 presidential race.
The suit was filed in December by Eric Coomer, director of product strategy and security for the company, after he had been the subject of conspiracy theories spread on the right, in sync with Donald Trump’s claims that the election was stolen from him.
In a statement posted on its website, the media outlet said, “Newsmax would like to clarify its coverage of Dr. Coomer and note that while Newsmax initially covered claims by President Trump’s lawyers, supporters and others that Dr. Coomer played a role in manipulating Dominion voting machines, Dominion voting software, and the final vote counts in the 2020 presidential election, Newsmax subsequently found no evidence that such allegations were true. Christmas just got a lot less festive for Fox News Channel, Newsmax and Rudy Giuliani because of a threatened big bucks defamation lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems.
“This disinformation campaign against Dominion has caused the company permanent and irreparable damages which are exacerbated by your ongoing refusal to retract,” says a letter sent today to the trio on behalf of the much-maligned voting software and hardware corporation.
Responding to frequent accusations on conservative media and Donald Trump’s personal lawyer that Dominion’s voting machines shifted millions of ballots in favor of Joe Biden over the former Celebrity Apprentice host in last month’s election, the correspondence added “litigation regarding these issues is imminent.”

In the same tweet, Trump also shared a clip of conservative commentator Michelle Malkin, saying she is concerned a number of her peers have been “stripped of their platforms, and their reputations and their voices” by major social media companies over their political leanings. It’s been a busy Saturday so far for President Donald Trump, as the tweets and retweets have piled up. Surprisingly, the biggest target of the morning was not the usual Democratic suspects, but social media itself.
“The Radical Left is in total command & control of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Google,” the President tweeted. “The Administration is working to remedy this illegal situation. Stay tuned, and send names & events. Thank you Michelle!”
“Michelle,” in this case, is conservative pundit Michelle Malkin. The President shared a link to a video of a speech by her, but the video was taken down later in the morning.
As to what action might be taken, federal and state regulators are prepping antitrust suits against Google and presumably other social media outlets for alleged various abuses in search and advertising. Hasbro is turning the tables on Monopoly in a campaign to support young women entrepreneurs — but reactions have been a mixed bag since the toy company announced the new game Tuesday morning.
The updated version of the classic board game, called “Ms. Monopoly,” is flipping the script by giving female players an advantage over male players — for every $200 Monopoly dollars men make in the game, women make $240.
The result is “the first-ever game where women make more than men,” according to Hasbro’s description — but Twitter users were quick to criticize the game Tuesday.

Fox News today is standing by its host Laura Ingraham, who is taking flak for comments she made Thursday during a segment about how social media is silencing “prominent” voices.
The segment began with her take on Nancy Pelosi ripping Facebook for not deleting a slowed-down video that appears to show the House Majority Leader as being drunk. It evolved into Ingraham defending “prominent voices censored on social media” — which is not the first time she has opined on that topic.
She then put up the graphic that showed the names and faces of several people who have been censored and/or banned on Facebook, Twitter, etc. “Facebook now, what do they monitor? Quote, hate? That sounds good until you realize hate.” Among those pictured were usual suspects Alex Jones, Milo Yiannopoulos, et al., but also listed was Paul Nehlen, a two-time congressional also-ran whose racist, anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim...

Laura Ingraham may have pulled off an impressive broadcasting feat Thursday night.
The Fox News host, who has endured a two-week long advertiser boycott, managed to throw some shade at departing sponsors as well as her critics without ever mentioning the boycott itself.
During a new installment of her segment called “Defending the First,” where she promises to “expose enemies of the First of Amendment, free expression and free thought,” Ingraham talked about “the dark forces behind organized efforts to silence conservatives.”

In a discussion with conservative commentator Michelle Malkin, Ingraham focused on billionaire financier George Soros, who gave a $1 million donation to liberal watchdog group Media Matters.
“You have these corporations that just wilt,” Ingraham said. “They just wilt. They get a hundred emails from some left-wing activist and they wilt. Meanwhile millions of conservatives are like, ‘Are you kidding me?’ That makes no sense.”
Ingraham has been hit hard by an advertiser boycott campaign spearheaded by Parkland student David Hogg after she mocked him for “whining” about his rejection by several California colleges. Since the campaign began, most of her biggest sponsors, including Mitsubishi, Blue Apron, SlimFast, Ace Hardware, and Ibm have bailed, and ad time on “The Ingraham Angle” has been cut roughly in half.
Thursday night’s episode of “The Ingraham Angle” show featured ads from 12 mostly lesser-known national brands, several Fox News promos, and a more than a couple of repeated ads.

The commercial breaks added up to just under 10 minutes total. By contrast, data from the tracking firm Kantar showed that “The Ingraham Angle” averaged 14 and a half minutes of ads prior to the boycott campaign.

It wasn’t that long ago that Jeff Bridges and Nicolas Cage were known as Academy Award-winning actors with talent to burn, but time and poor judgement (and in Cage’s case, tax bills) have turned the two into shallow, mumbling shadows of their former selves. Cage has been saying yes to every single offer he receives for a decade or more (seriously, the guy is averaging 2-3 movies per year, and most aren’t even hitting theaters), and Bridges has found himself in an odd rut of variations on True Grit‘s Rooster Cogburn. Seventh Son has had something of a troubled road to theaters — it was originally scheduled to release in February of 2013 — and now that it’s finally here you’d be hard-pressed to believe the delays added much to the final project. The hero is bland, the story plays out exactly as you’d expect and the action sequences are rarely all that...

Fox News Channel anchor Megyn Kelly and conservative columnist Michelle Malkin tore into CBS News anchor Scott Pelley and his network over a number of issues, including a recent interview in which Pelley dismissed all of cable news and significantly underestimated Fox News Channel's ratings. Kelly set Pelley straight, noting that her network beat CBS News during all the presidential debates and on election night.

On Thursday, conservative radio host Michelle Malkin vigorously defended the National Security Agency’s program of monitoring communications under the administration of President George W. Bush, but criticized what that program had become under President Barack Obama. She asked why any government security agency would need to monitor the communications of anyone, foreign or domestic, when Obama had recently declared an end to the conventional tactics used to fight the War on Terror.

Conservative columnist Michelle Malkin appeared on Fox & Friends where she and the hosts revealed a bombshell allegation regarding the IRS targeting scandal. Quoting a report in an Illinois-based political blog, Malkin and the Fox hosts detailed a story about how Lois Lerner, the suspended IRS director implicated in the targeting of conservative groups, had previously attempted to intimidate a Gop Senate candidate in 1996 out of the race while she was at the Federal Election Commission.

For some folks, Girls creator Lena Dunham is one girl that has a little growing up to do. "Happy Memorial Day! I've already peed in two different Starbucks bathrooms!" the 27-year-old tweeted on Monday. However, the mention of the holiday and urine in the same sentence clearly riled a few conservatives. Blogger and frequent Fox News guest Michelle Malkin tweeted: @lenadunham What a rude, classless ingrate you are." And Jim Treacher of The Daily Caller wrote, "Don't blame her. She literally doesn't know any better. It's not her fault." Meanwhile, Noel Sheppard posed this question on the conservative site NewsBusters: "What is it about liberal disdain...

Sean Hannity tonight led a heated panel discussion on the horrifying terrorist attack in London today. He and Michelle Malkin credited Prime Minister David Cameron with immediately labeling it a terrorist act, saying that liberal political correctness would have prevented that if such an attack occurred in the United States. Malkin got into a shouting match with fellow panelist Leslie Marshall over how the U.S. has responded to acts of Islamic violence, going so far as to say political correctness on Islam leads to dead bodies.

Conservative columnist Michelle Malkin said on Thursday that Wednesday’s Congressional hearings into the Benghazi attack had shown how broadly the members of President Barack Obama’s administration mislead the American people in the wake of that terrorist event. Malkin called the administration “thugs” for attempting to destroy the careers and characters of the whistleblowers before they came forward. She added that the “Jenga tower of lies” former Sec. Hillary Clinton had built up following the Benghazi attack were “crumbling down.”...

Conservative columnist Michelle Malkin ripped into White House Press Sec. Jay Carney on Thursday amid a discussion about President Barack Obama’s response to the survivors of the Benghazi attack who are claiming they have been pressured to keep silent about their experience. Malkin became animated on Fox & Friends after being told that Carney said news outlets reporting that the Benghazi survivors had been blocked from testifying were “spreading misinformation.”...

Sean Hannity tonight delved into the family environment the two Boston Marathon bombing suspects, Tamerlan and Dzhokar Tsaernaev, grew up in, and how they might be influenced by radical Islamic beliefs. He and Michelle Malkin raised questions about why U.S. intelligence didn't respond to concerns being flagged about the brothers, with Malkin calling "people in Washington" dismissing any connection between the Tsaernaev brothers and foreign jihadi groups as "too smug" for their own good.

Sean Hannity was fired up tonight over MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry making comments in ads for the cable network that Hannity decried as socialist and collectivist, especially her now-infamous ad talking about how children belong to their communities. Michelle Malkin and Leslie Marshall got heated over the ad and where the responsibility of taking care of children should lie, with Malkin decrying "liberal hellholes" and proudly declaring, "Hands off my kids!"...

Have we all gone too soft? Are people's issues with corporal punishment and physical discipline just an example of PC-ness gone too far? Sean Hannity and Michelle Malkin of Fox News think so.
When talking about how Rutgers basketball coach Mike Rice was fired after video showed him physically abusing players, Hannity said that a little "old-fashioned discipline" wasn't a bad thing -- even if this case took it too far.
During the Wednesday (April 3) airing of "Hannity," the show's eponymous host brought up the basketball case. His initial response to Rice hitting students and throwing basketballs at them was more than slightly ambivalent. Hannity brought up the issue as follows:
"I'm watching this and I'm thinking, all right, I don't like it, he kicked one player there, but on the other hand, you know what? I kind of like old-fashioned, discipline on the other hand. I mean, we've become that politically incorrect?...

On Thursday, Michelle Malkin appeared on Fox & Friends where she pummeled President Barack Obama’s approach to America’s relationship with Israel and the peace process between the Jewish state and Palestine. She said that Obama's entire trip to the Middle East was political and merely a “photo op.” When asked what the president could have done to make her think the trip was a success, Malkin said “he shouldn’t have gone in the first place.”...

Conservative columnist Michelle Malkin dismissed President Barack Obama’s outreach efforts to Congressional Republicans on Thursday, saying that Obama’s charm offensive lacks the requisite charm to be effective. She continued to say that, if the president was serious about negotiations and was not simply seeking political advantage, he would broadcast these negotiations on a cable news outlet like Fox News.

Over the weekend, conservative websites like Breitbart.com and Michelle Malkin's site attacked retired astronaut Mark Kelly, husband of former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, over his recent purchase of a used Ar-15 assault weapon. On Monday afternoon's The Situation Room, Kelly told CNN's Wolf Blitzer why he purchased the gun, and said he didn't "know anything about who Breitbart is, or anything about his website," and that he planned all along to buy the weapon, and post about it on Facebook.

MSNBC's Touré saw something a bit cynical about Sen. Rand Paul's filibuster on the issues of drones and civil liberties, calling the display "theatrical grandstanding" and arguing that the only goal it achieved was setting up Paul for the 2016 Gop presidential nomination. "It going to play really well inside the conservative media bubble," Touré said of Paul's filibuster, perhaps referring to the praise it has already received from Michelle Malkin, Rush Limbaugh and others.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-ky) is the hero of the Republican Party Thursday morning, after staging a nearly thirteen hour filibuster to protest the narrow issue of John Brennan's CIA director nomination and the broader controversy of civil liberties and potential drone strikes on Americans. Everyone from Joe Scarborough to Michelle Malkin is praising his impressive dedication to a cause about which he clearly feels strongly. But at least one of Paul's Gop colleagues in the Senate is speaking out against him.

Michelle Obama says it was “absolutely not surprising” to her that her satellite appearance at the Academy Awards ceremony provoked a national conversation about whether it was appropriate, after some conservative critics accused her of selfishly crashing the event in an attempt to upstage it.
She attributed the chatter to a culture shift that has spawned legions of bloggers, tweeters, and others who talk about anything and everything all the time.
“Shoot, my bangs set off a national conversation. My shoes can set off a national conversation. That’s just sort of where we are. We’ve got a lot of talking going on,...

First, Michelle Obama made a dancing video with Jimmy Fallon and America swooned.
Then, Michelle Obama appeared at the Oscars and America decided that swooning was maybe a little much.
Now, another Michelle — conservative writer Michelle Malkin — has released a parody video of the First Lady’s Fallon-collab-dance-stravaganza. It does contain dancing. There, the similarities stop.
“Evolution of Liberal Dancing” is, in the following order: kinda strange, kinda long, and kinda funky. Strange because it features Malkin in heavy black bangs and an all-black outfit; long because the thing is almost two minutes and includes more than one shot of...

Michelle Malkin released a parody of First Lady Michelle Obama's "History of Mom Dancing" from "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," except in the right-wing pundit's version, she reenacted -- get this -- the history of liberal dancing!
Take a moment to watch it. We'll be right here.
Have you watched it yet?
Okay, good. Can explain what the hell is going on here? If you know what dances called "Fly Like a Menendez" (?) or "The Diggie (Obama's spending sinkhole)" (??) mean, we would love to know.
We did, however, enjoy "The Golfing Man," as Barack Obama is the first president to have played golf, a foreign activity to Republicans.
Once and for all, Republicans have dispelled the notion that they are by and large embarrassingly bad at comedy -- albeit unintentionally. Take that, Michelle Obama!

Conservative columnist Michelle Malkin severely criticized the Doha-based cable news network Al Jazeera and its plan to expand into America by replacing Current TV. She called the network a “half billion dollar Trojan Horse for terror,” and said that the network’s Arabic-language arm is responsible for “cheerleading for terror.” In that sense, she says, the network is responsible for the deaths of Americans and their expansion into the USA is an outrage.
