Well, well, well, here we are again!
I’m excited to return to Daily Dead with Archie’s House of Horrors. It’s also a perfect way to kick off Archie Horror in 2024, with a second installment of a title that garnered great success for Archie in 2023: Pop’S Chock’Lit Shoppe Of Horrors. We’re returning to this fun anthology for a second serving of terror in Fresh Meat.
Sequels are ubiquitous when it comes to horror. There’s no better franchise game in media than that of the horror sequels. Series like Nightmare on Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th, Child’s Play, Saw, Scream, and—probably most notably—Halloween (of which even Archie has had a little fun with Michael Myers in the past), are not just beloved within the horror space, they’re iconic franchises with immediate recognizability. Would Freddy or Jason or even...

This year Archie Horror fans were treated to the horror anthology Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe of Horrors. The collection gave readers a look into the sinister going-ons once the infamous Riverdale diner closed up for the night. I was personally a big fan of the title as it evoked the feeling of those classic EC Comics titles such as Tales from the Crypt and Vault of Horror but with a fun food-themed twist. In a surprise announcement, Bloody Disgusting is excited to exclusively reveal the follow-up title that will invite readers back for sinister seconds.
Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe of Horrors: Fresh Meat isn’t a sequel in the traditional sense but instead a prequel that will reveal to readers how Pop and his Diner from Hell came to be across three all new stories from the original’s creative team. The title is set to be released March 20th,...

Did y’all know Archie Comics has a horror line? The company has been steadily delivering on their love of horror with titles like the zombie-filled Afterlife with Archie, the vampire slayer driven Vampironica, and the gory werewolf tale Jughead: The Hunger.
Archie Horror manages to bring back the feeling of classic comics like Tales from the Crypt and Vault of Horror, and the line is back with a brand new throwback tale.
The company’s latest one-shot, Camp Pickens, takes place at the titular summer camp. Camp Pickens sees the beloved Archie characters spend the summer as counselors encountering the horrors that plague the cursed site. It’s an interesting premise/hook that immediately calls back to films such as Sleepaway Camp and Friday the 13th. The strong premise makes you wonder why Archie and co. have never been camp counselors in a horror story before.

For decades, Pop's Chock’lit Shoppe has been a (relatively) safe haven for the fine folks of Riverdale to gather and converse over a frosty milkshake and a steamy basket of burgers and fries, but in the new one-shot anthology Chilling Adventures Presents... Pop's Chock’lit Shoppe of Horrors, Pop Tate has turned his community hub into a house of horrors where his own customers just might end up being on the menu!
With Pop's Chock’lit Shoppe of Horrors out now from Archie Comics, we had the pleasure of catching up with Jordan Morris, the writer behind "Soylent Teen," one of the three tasty tales served up in the new one-shot. In this new Q&a feature, he reflects on what it was like to cook up a cannibalistic story in the idyllic world of Archie Comics, collaborating with talented artist Liana Kangas, and he also discusses his upcoming...

Inspirational, if a bit mysterious, messages have been cropping up on billboards in the hometowns of members of the US Men’s National Soccer Team just as the World Cup approaches. The apparent motivator? None other than Ted Lasso.
The bright yellow billboards, each with a blue-lettered, funny and long-winded message of hope in Ted Lasso’s idiosyncratic style, have cropped up in San Diego, Seattle, Pico Rivera, California, Bergen County, New Jersey – all the hometowns of, or near the schools attended by, players or coaches of the Usmnt.
A typical message, this one for player Jordan Morris of Seattle:
Jordan, When you first broke one the scene, I was blown away by your sheer speed and talent. I’m sure you know all about bein’ blown away, being from Seattle and all. Lotta gloomy days but the thing about you is...

Amazon’s Prime Video is bringing the story of Canada’s most famous children’s entertainer to the world. The streamer has confirmed the start of production on an untitled “Mr. Dressup” documentary, based on the life and career of Ernie Coombs.
The doc will celebrate the origins and history of the children’s show and its legacy of valuable lessons. In addition to including insights into the relationship with Rogers, the project uses unseen archival footage, interviews with series puppeteers and musicians, the Coombs family, and other notable Canadians who discuss the impact the series had on them.
Rob McCallum (“Power of Grayskull: The Definitive History of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe”) directs and co-writes with Jordan Morris (“Nintendo Quest”).
American-born Coombs came to Canada in the early 1960s as one of Fred “Mister” Rogers’ puppeteers for the 1961-64 CBC children’s program “Misterogers.” Coombs then immigrated...

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s work on 2016’s hit “Sausage Party” resulted in one of Hollywood’s highest-grossing adult-targeted animated films. Now, the duo is teaming up to adapt the “Bubble” podcast into an age-appropriate animated movie with Sony Pictures Animation.
Variety reported that Sony Pictures Animation is developing the project, based on the 2018 podcast, with Point Grey and Matt Tolmach (“Jumanji: The Next Level”) producing.
Kyle Hunter, Ariel Shaffir, James Weaver, and David Manpearl are attached as executive producers, while podcast production company Maximum Fun and Jordan Morris, who created the “Bubble” podcast, are attached as co-executive producers. Morris will also write the script, according to Variety. Hunter, Shaffir, Tolmach, and Point Grey previously worked together on Hulu’s “Future Man” comedy series.
Sources close to production confirmed Variety’s report with IndieWire.
Rogen and Goldberg’s upcoming adaptation will mark their second venture into animated adult projects.

Sausage Party producers and Point Grey principals Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have reteamed with Sony and producer Matt Tolmach (who worked with them on Hulu’s Future Man series) to develop an adult animated film based on the 2018 podcast, Bubble, which was created by Jordan Morris.
Morris will adapt the screenplay. The 10-episode scripted comedy series hails from Maximum Fun. It centered around an unlikely group of monster killers, brought together by an Uber-like app called Huntr, that struggle to make ends meet and find love in a nightmarish version of the gig economy.

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are working on another animated film aimed at adult audiences in the vein of their movie “Sausage Party” by developing an adaptation of the podcast series “Bubble” for Sony Pictures Animation, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.
Rogen and Goldberg’s Point Grey Productions will produce the film along with “Jumanji: The Next Level” producer Matt Tolmach. Jordan Morris, the creator of the 2018 podcast “Bubble” hosted at Maximum Fun, will write the screenplay.
The podcast “Bubble” is a sci-fi comedy satire set in Fairhaven, a utopian city enclosed inside a bubble on an alien planet, and follows a group of hipsters who use an app not unlike Uber in order to pick up side jobs hunting monsters that swarm the planet.
The project will be a feature-length film and will be intended for mature audiences.
