Michalina Scorzelli began her multifaceted career as an Actress in NYC. She appeared on stage, in film and Television. Once being cast in Independent films she began also Producing. The first film she was in and Produced Won Best debut Feature Film at the Raindance Film Festival. Today she is still Producing and a proud member of the Producers Guild of America and stepping back in front of the camera.
Michalina Scorzelli has three sons. Jeremy Houghtaling, Jason Houghtaling and Bailey Almindo
She studied her craft under the direction of Sande Shurin, author of
"Transformational Acting...A step Beyond".
Her real life son Bailey Almindo played her on-screen son in the film Nate Dogg (2003). This film won best debut feature film at the Raindance Film Festival in London 2003.
Michalina's very first film audition was for filmmaker Thomas Farone. He
cast her and the two have been working together ever since. She is currently one of the Producers and has a small role in his most recent film Aftermath (2013).
She is one of the co-founders of a group called Independent Artists Collaborative in the NY Hudson Valley. It is a group of all artists working to master their craft while collaborating with each other to create new works. She started this group with fellow artist Jim Dippolito.
The short film Four (2007) she directed and produced won four awards at the 2007 Edwood Film Festival.
