After joining Paramount in the steno pool, she served as Jerry Lewis'
personal secretary, then joined Tandem Prods., where she worked on such
projects as "The Andy Williams Show" and "Come Blow Your Horn." She
served for a time as executive assistant to Paramount head Howard Koch,
then moved to New York as assistant to writer Sidney Michaels on the
Broadway play "Dylan," starring Alec Guinness. Returning to Tandem, she
worked with Norman Lear as his assistant on such films as "The Night
They Raided Minsky's" and "Cold Turkey." Thompson also was associate
producer on the first season of "All in the Family."
