When it comes to beauty, there’s nothing Rihanna hasn’t tried — and fortunately for us, that now includes creating a makeup line.
Last year, the singer and fashion designer announced her first-ever beauty line, Fenty Beauty. But with no details, we’ve been on the edge of our seats. Then, back in February, the star released a statement that she’d be on a hunt for makeup artists to join onto the brand, along with makeup artist James Vincent. And now, she’s giving us a reminder that the line is in fact almost here, as she sticks to...

Though it admittedly takes some research to wrap your head around exactly what it is, the recently launched platform TentSquare is one hell of a cool idea, essentially allowing fans to be directly involved in every single aspect of a film's production.
While crowd-funding services like Kickstarter are all about money, TentSquare is more about creativity, putting things like screenplay development and casting into the hands of members. It's pretty damn revolutionary and an exciting glimpse into the potential future of filmmaking.
The reason I bring TentSquare up is because the fan-powered platform was used to build the short horror film While You Were in a Coma, which has just officially entered production. For the past few months members have hand selected the writers, director, lead actor, and cinematographer of the short; and it's now ready to get rolling.

San Diego’s annual Comic-Con is mostly known for its major media spectacles, displays and panel discussions by major mainstream Hollywood studios and distributors. Lesser known is the Independent Film Festival that is hosted by and runs concurrently with the larger convention on July 21-24.
The film festival runs in a large meeting room at the Marriott Marquis Hotel and Marina, located right next door to the convention center. Each day kicks off with a “Film School” panel discussion at 10:00 a.m., then packs the late morning, all afternoon and night with independent films from all over the world.
Screenings are blocked by genre, such as Action/Adventure, Sci-Fi, Horror, Animation and Documentary. There’s also an awards presentation on the 24th, with repeat screenings of the winning films.
