The Far Cry series is one of the longest-running Ubisoft franchises to date. These games have been very popular owing to their vast open-world and exotic locations. Another thing that players are very fond of in the Far Cry games is its antagonists. While the series has seen several antagonists, only some have managed to stand out.

Last August, developers Fallen Leaf and Black Drakkar Games teamed up with publisher Dear Villagers to bring the world a sci-fi horror video game called Fort Solis, which was directed by James Tinsdale and featured performances from Roger Clark (Red Dead Redemption 2), Julia Brown (World on Fire) and Troy Baker (The Last of Us). Now Fallen Leaf and Black Drakkar have signed a deal with Studios Extraordinaires to develop film and TV adaptations, with the directing duo of André Hedetoft and Andreas Troedsson set to take the helm of the Fort Solis movie!
Hedetoft told IGN they were drawn to the material because “You get a super cinematic immersive experience when you play it, you have amazing characters and actors that brought them to life in the game, and you have some really creative people behind it, and I think that’s exactly the kind of dream project to do.

From Adam West in the ’60s to Robert Pattinson in 2022, a plethora of iterations of Batman have been presented onscreen since the character’s inception. But while most of them are great in their own right, nobody quite embodied the spirit of the caped crusader like the late Kevin Conroy, who is still considered by many to be the definitive version of Batman.
However, Conroy wasn’t the initial choice to voice the character, and even when he was considered for the part, the actor was interested in voicing other characters, which ended up frustrating Andrea Romano.

Bethesda’s Starfield was supposed to be its crowning achievement in 2023. After the acquisition from Microsoft, it’s the first game from the developers that is exclusive to the Xbox (for now). However, it fell short of many expectations, leaving a void for fans of games set in space.
To make up for the lackluster performance of the Xbox exclusive, fans have been looking for other titles with a similar setting and vibe. Well, these gamers found refuge in a game that was released a little before Starfield but offered players a much better experience, one that is now improved further.

HBO's "The Last of Us" doesn't need much improvisation. The heart-pounding series from Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann pulls plenty of its best lines from the video game on which it's based, and when writers do make changes, they tend to be for the better. Series cinematographer Eben Bolter even described the show's Emmy-winning third episode screenplay to /Film as a "golden script" and "an instruction manual for greatness." It sounds like improv moments were few and far between during the filming of the first season, but Pedro Pascal did manage to ad lib a line that made one key moment stronger.
In a conversation with original Joel Miller voice actor Troy Baker for "The Last of Us Podcast," co-creators Mazin and Druckmann unpacked an emotional episode 6 scene in which Joel broke down to his brother Tommy (Gabriel Luna), revealing the true depths of his care for Ellie (Bella Ramsey...

BioShock creator Ken Levine has shown off some new gameplay details for his upcoming Judas to select outlets, and the old BioShock DNA is unmistakeable.
There’s an awful lot of chat about “narrative Lego” in the various news posts swirling around about Judas, the next game from BioShock designer Ken Levine. It’s a phrase Levine first brought up about a decade ago when he first started talking publicly about his first project since 2013’s BioShock Infinite, and is shorthand for the way Judas uses discrete blocks of plot to construct a unique story for each player.
Over the past few weeks or so, Levine’s new studio, Ghost Story Games, has invited a couple of journalists from big, posh outlets to sample Judas first-hand. Both IGN's Ryan McCaffrey and The Game Awards’ Geoff Keighley have made videos in which they interview Ken Levine and play through his ambitious-sounding action-adventure.

Red Dead Redemption 2 elevated the storytelling aspect of not only Rockstar, but video games as a medium, to new heights. The gripping, emotional plot of the game devastated long-time Rdr fans and new players alike, eventually leading to it becoming the seventh best-selling game of all time.
While the immensely talented devs at Rockstar Games get a large portion of the credit for the enormous achievement, the excellent voice actors that brought the beautifully-written characters to life deserve their fair share as well. However, Roger Clark, the voice of Arthur Morgan, has raised concerns about Va careers potentially being under jeopardy.

The Oscar season is going on, and trophies are being handed out left and right. Deserving artists are getting the recognition they worked so hard for. Celebrated filmmakers, actors, and technicians are getting their due. All in all, things are pretty exciting at the moment, and cinema fans are getting a lot of excitement from it. But one cannot help but wonder if it’s about time video games started getting recognized by the Academy too.
Over the years, video games have grown from being a source of mindless entertainment to something much more immersive and meaningful. With this evolution, performances from lead actors have become a central part of these games. Ubisoft’s Far Cry franchise has carved a dominant niche for itself in the open-world Fps genre. The compelling villains and expansive world design made it popular, and while the early 2004 titles established the core gameplay loop, it was 2012’s Far Cry 3 that truly catapulted the series into the limelight.
This game wasn’t just about refined shooting mechanics. Its captivating story was what made it memorable. However, a substantial chunk of the credit for Far Cry 3‘s success undoubtedly belongs to Vaas Montenegro, the unforgettable villain masterfully portrayed by Michael Mando. Here’s why the upcoming Far Cry 7 should take a page out of his book.

When Ubisoft launched Far Cry 3 back in 2012, they showed a bunch of things about that game. Its visuals were incredible, its combat mechanics looked fun, and it even had stealth. But one thing that stood out the most was none other than Vaas Montenegro. This character was given life by the incredible Michael Mando, and he played it in such a manner that it lives in the minds of many people to this day.
From that moment on, charismatic villains became a thing for this series of games. They would connect to the protagonist in some way, and then they would wreak havoc on each other’s lives until the game ended. But after several games, this idea has become stale, yet it looks like Far Cry 7 will repeat this same idea once again.

Based on Naughty Dog’s video game, The Last of Us takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, played by Pedro Pascal, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie (Bella Ramsey), a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. Xbox had seen a drop in fans after leaks and rumors about Xbox going third-party. But in the latest Xbox Direct, Phil Spencer made it clear that Xbox is not leaving the console business. It is just branching out into the multi-platform video game publishing business as well.
This has been met with manifold angry fan reactions that flooded the gaming communities on X, Reddit, etc. A large part of that anger was however not directed at Xbox or Microsoft Gaming. Instead the apparent ‘leakers’ got most of the blame for turning the Xbox community inside out for the sake of clicks and user engagement.
Fan reactions to the Xbox Direct just went on to show, that fans are starting to come to the conclusion that no leak should be trusted until official confirmation, yet again.

Season 2 of the HBO series adaptation of the video game The Last of Us has officially started filming in Vancouver, Canada, and a while back (before filming began) the show’s star Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie, said that one of the things she was most looking forward to about the new season was getting the chance to play out “the Dina storyline”. Last month, we learned that Isabela Merced – who can be seen in this weekend’s release Madame Web – had been cast as Dina, Ellie’s new romantic interest. While attending the world premiere of Madame Web, Merced took a moment to confirm that she has already done a day of work as Dina.
Merced told Deadline, “The stars are truly aligning. I had several of my friends that I’ve worked with in this industry for a long time join the cast. I can’t say who just joined.

Almost four years later, Joel’s death in the first act of The Last of Us Part II remains one of the most shocking twists in video game history. Led to believe by the game’s marketing that Joel would be a major part of the sequel, back alongside Ellie, who’s on a quest for revenge, fans weren’t expecting to have to say goodbye to this character so soon. During last night’s State Of Play, one of the biggest surprises was the gameplay trailer for Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding 2. And blimey, what a trailer that is.
Firstly, the game is now called Death Stranding 2: On The Beach. Secondly, it looks freaky as heck.
Take a look at 9-minute gameplay trailer for Death Stranding 2:
Is that a baby… in a body cavity? Well, that’s me sold on the game.
Death Stranding 2 was initially announced at the 2022 Game Awards, but it’s been a long road to get here. Kojima reportedly rewrote the entire game at one point after the pandemic.
The trailer finds Sam working for a mysterious civilian outfit called the Drawbridge and being shown around by Léa Seydoux’s Fragile. As Sam heads out into the world,...

Season 2 of the HBO series adaptation of the video game The Last of Us is expected to start filming in Vancouver, Canada sometime in February, and in the build-up to the production Deadline has learned the names of the directors who will be at the helm of the new episodes. The first season consisted of nine episodes that were handled by seven different directors, and it looks like season 2 is going to be split between seven directors as well. Showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann (who was also creative director on the video game source material) will be directing episodes, and the line-up also includes Mark Mylod, who just won an Outstanding Drama Directing Emmy for HBO’s Succession (he also directed the movie The Menu and worked with HBO on Game Of Thrones and Entourage); Kate Herron, who directed the entire first season of the Marvel / Disney+ series Loki; Stephen Williams,...

This week, Lucasfilm and Bethesda, the makers of hit video games like "Fallout" and "Elder Scrolls," provided an exciting first look at their upcoming Indiana Jones video game. Titled "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle," the game is a first-person adventure (one made for the Xbox Series X/S and PC) that puts players into the shoes of Dr. Henry Jones Jr. as he embarks on yet another thrilling quest for archaeological glory. However, with a total of five films in the Indiana Jones film franchise, you might be wondering: when does this particular story take place? Fortunately, we have the answer.
The trailer for "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle" shows us a younger Indiana Jones, so it was clear this wouldn't be taking place closer to the recently released "Dial of Destiny" or even "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." Instead, the official press release for the Indy video...

Bethesda and MachineGames recently unveiled a long-awaited video game in the form of "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle." The legendary video game studio behind "Fallout" and "Skyrim" has been working on a game set within the action/adventure franchise for several years, with the game originally announced back in 2021. But now, we know much more including when the story takes place, what the player can expect, and, rather crucially, who is voicing Indiana Jones. It won't be Harrison Ford, but another icon has stepped up to fill those very big shoes.
Troy Baker will be the man tasked with bringing Indy to life in the much-anticipated game. Ford, for his part, left the role behind with his final turn as the character in last year's "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny." Now, it falls to Baker, who will get to put his stamp on the hero during his classic era,...

Season 2 of the HBO series adaptation of the video game The Last of Us is expected to start filming in Vancouver, Canada very soon, and Pedro Pascal is set to reprise the role of Joel when the new episodes start filming. Season 2 is based on the video game The Last of Us Part II, and while Pascal made his way down the red carpet at the Sundance Film Festival premiere of his movie Freaky Tales, Deadline took the opportunity to ask Pascal if his character arc on the show will differ from what Joel goes through in the video game source material.
Pascal answered, “Does it deviate from the game? That’s a good question. I think that they’re always going to find ways to build on the incredible source material that they have, and surprise us with how they can use that material in a different format like a television show.

Fetch your lasso and hat: Indiana Jones is back, and this time in a first-person videogame. Here’s the trailer for Indiana Jones And The Great Circle.
During last night’s Xbox Developer Direct showcase, MachineGames unveiled the first gameplay trailer for its upcoming Indiana Jones game, which is indeed titled Indiana Jones And The Great Circle as we suspected last week.
The game takes place in 1937, between Raiders Of The Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, and finds Indiana Jones hunting for an artefact known as The Great Circle. As per usual, a bunch of bad guys are after it too.
Take a look at the trailer.
Yes, that is indeed Tony Todd that you glimpsed in the trailer. Todd recently voiced Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Indiana Jones himself looks a lot like Harrison Ford, but that is not Ford’s voice.

The first gameplay trailer for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has been released, which offers a great look at the upcoming video game.
Set between the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, the first-person, single-player game finds sinister forces scouring the globe for the secret to an ancient power connected to the Great Circle, and only one person can stop them — Indiana Jones. You’ll become the legendary archaeologist in this “cinematic action-adventure game from MachineGames, the award-winning studio behind the recent Wolfenstein series, and executive produced by Hall of Fame game designer Todd Howard.“

Three years after we learned of the game's existence, Bethesda and Lucasfilm Games are finally pulling back the curtain on the upcoming "Indiana Jones" video game. Revealed during the Xbox Developer Direct event, we now have the first gameplay trailer for "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle." We didn't even have a title previously, so even that is revealing. But we've got a lot more to chew on, starting with the trailer above.
Bethesda originally announced the game back in 2021 with a brief teaser trailer. This is, to say the least, far more comprehensive. The footage most certainly captures the feel of Steven Spielberg's films, with a John Williams-esque musical score providing a major assist. The other key thing is that the game is going to be a first-person experience, which will put the player more firmly in Indy's shoes, as opposed to a third-person experience. Whether or...

Indy is back, this time in a new video game from MachineGames and Bethesda called Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Set within the same timeline as the movie, the game sees a young Indiana Jones (voiced by Troy Baker) begin a new adventure that will take him from his desk at Marshall College to the Vatican, the Forgotten Temples of the Sukhotai, the Himalayas, and back to Egypt for the first time since Raiders of the Lost Ark.
In fact, Great Circle takes place just a year after the events of the original movie, but before The Last Crusade. In other words, the game will finally show us what Indy was up to in the two-year gap between Raiders, which is set in 1936, and Crusade, which covers 1938. 1937 is a year in Indy’s life that has never been explored onscreen. The goal, according to MachineGames co-founder Jerk Gustafsson in an interview with EW,...

Three years after Bethesda released the first teaser trailer for developer MachineGames (Wolfenstein: The New Order) new Indiana Jones game, the publisher finally revealed actual gameplay footage of the project that is now officially titled Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. While there’s quite a lot to say about what we saw in that trailer, the biggest takeaway from the preview may instead be something we heard: Indiana Jones’ voice actor.
Indiana Jones has a surprising amount of things to say in the first gameplay trailer for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, but his voice may be more notable than his words. In fact, shortly after the trailer was released, some were left wondering if Bethesda had actually convinced Harrison Ford to step into the voice booth and reprise his role for the upcoming game. Others speculated that the studio must have simply found a fairly convincing impersonator.

It’s been a long time coming, but MachineGames (the same folks behind Wolfenstein: The New Order and Wolfenstein: The New Colossus) and Bethesda have revealed their Indiana Jones game at the Xbox Developer Direct. Officially titled Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, the first-person adventure game will be coming to Xbox and PC later this year. The game will use a likeness of Harrison Ford, with Troy Baker voicing Indy. And fresh from his stint as Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the game will also star Tony Todd.
Accompanying the reveal is a 13-minute trailer featuring gameplay for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which will take place between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade. The year is 1937, sinister forces are scouring the globe for the secret to an ancient power connected to the Great Circle, and only one person can stop them—Indiana Jones.

Season 2 of the HBO series adaptation of the video game The Last of Us is expected to start filming in Vancouver, Canada this month, and a while back the show’s star Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie, said that one of the things she was most looking forward to about the new season was getting the chance to play out “the Dina storyline”. Because, “I had the one episode in season 1 with Ellie and Riley, but to have it as a storyline throughout the whole of the second game in terms of Ellie and Dina is really exciting.” Now we know who is going to be playing Dina, Ellie’s new romantic interest: Isabela Merced, whose previous credits include Dora and the Lost City of Gold and Sweet Girl.
According to Deadline, Dina is described as being “a free-wheeling spirit whose devotion to Ellie will be tested by the brutality of the world they inhabit.

"Salvation comes in the blink of an eye." Lightfold, a new animation studio based in Atlanta, has unveiled the first official trailer for their debut short called Godspeed. This is the latest creation from the animation filmmaker behind the popular Final Space sci-fi series, and it involves yet another space adventure sci-fi story. Godspeed follows a young woman named Iris, voiced by Bryce Charles, and her adorable karaoke-bot sidekick named Bowie as they navigate the desolate landscape of their crumbling world (sounds lot like Earth once climate change ravages everything). She must survive a planet-ending storm in hopes of finding a message that will help her escape this place. The voice cast also features Troy Baker (The Last of Us), Claudia Black, Coty Galloway & Olan Rogers (both from Final Space), and a few surprises. As most readers know, we're big fans of any and everything sci-fi, which is why we're posting this trailer.
