- Mark Heller was born on August 15, 1978 in Birkenhead, Cheshire, England, UK. He is a director and actor, known for The Mulberry Tree (2010), The Passage (2007) and A Modern Magician (2019).
- Mark began his directing career in the theatre and has most recently returned to it, directing the tour of "The Ruby Slippers" which opens in the West End at The Arts Theatre in May 2017.
- The idea for his debut feature "The Passage" was conceived when Mark lived together with actor and writer Neil Jackson in West Hollywood. Not long after, they took the entire shoot to Marrakesh using almost an entire crew of locals.
- Whist working as the behind the scenes director for "Stephanie Daley", Mark got a motivational push to start his own projects when Tilda Swinton told him he needed to direct his own films after seeing his work.
- Even though over half of his movie "Star Crossed" was spoken in Portuguese, Mark does not speak the language.
- Met frequent collaborator Producer Lynette Howell Taylor at youth theatre when they were 15.
