Sonar Entertainment has optioned Tim Dorsey's Serge Storms novels to be developed into a TV series titled "Florida Roadkill". Evan Endicott and Josh Stoddard ("Betas," "The Shannara Chronicles") will pen the adaptation and executive produce.
The darkly comic crime drama follows a charismatic criminal named Serge Storms who suffers a range of mental illnesses that render him compulsive, paranoid and frequently homicidal.
A strong sense of justice and rigid moral compass make him an antidote to Tampa, Florida's ethically-challenged crooks, miscreants and coked-up kingpins.
Jennifer Eatz, Danny Davids and Neil Canton are also onboard as executive producers.

Scot Armstrong has been hired to do additional script work on the MGM comedy The Zookeeper. Walt Becker is attached to direct and produce the film along with Jennifer Eatz and Broken Road's Todd Garner, who came up with the idea.
Original writers Jay Scherick and David Ronn sold their spec -- about a lonely, misguided zookeeper who gets unexpected romantic help from the animals in his care -- to the Lion in April for $2 million against $3 million.
The studio sees the project as a potentially wide-appealing comedy and has met with "I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry" star Kevin James about the lead role. No one has been cast, however.
Armstrong, who has frequently collaborated with writer-director Todd Phillips on movies such as Old School, most recently wrote the screenplay for Semi-Pro. He has several projects in development, including Multiple Mary, which he co-wrote and will direct and produce for New Line.
Armstrong, Becker and Eatz are repped by CAA; Garner is repped by WMA.

Blair's story line revolves around a family vacation complicated by the appearance of the wife's flashy ex-boyfriend.

Blair and McKenna met in a Mommy & Me group and developed an idea they took to Becker and Eatz, who had worked with McKenna on her previous movie, 27 Dresses.
McKenna is finishing up a draft of Morning Glory for Bad Robot at Paramount. Becker is completing postproduction on the Disney comedy Old Dogs and could move on to the MGM comedy The Zookeeper, to which he is attached as director and producer.
