Indian singer Harrdy Sandhu prophesizes that Punjabi music will take over the world (if it hasn’t already).
The renewed interest in Punjabi music is evident with back-to-back appearances of South Asian artists at crowd-magnet international music events such as the Coachella (Indian singer Diljit Dosanjh became the first Punjabi artist to perform) and at the Juno Awards, where Indian Canadian artists like Tesher and AP Dhillon have left their marks.

Speaking to Et Canada’s Jed Tavernier, Sandhu talked about when he drove a taxi in Australia and realized the genre was widely popular among locals.

New Delhi, Sep 29 – Punjabi pop singer Harbhajan Mann believes Bollywood and piracy are the reasons behind Punjabi pop music taking a backseat. He says he is not interested in singing for the Hindi film industry as he is happy with his individual identity.

Chandigarh, Nov 12 (Ians) Well-known Punjabi singer-actor Harbhajan Mann Thursday kicked off the auction of the costumes worn by him and his co-artitst Neeru Bajwa in the forthcoming Punjabi film ‘Heer Ranjha’.
‘We are inviting bidders to make the highest bid for the dresses worn by me and Neeru Bajwa in ‘Heer Ranjha’. Bidders can bid through internet or by calling the orgainsers. The money will go to an orphanage,’ said Mann while talking to reporters.
The auction is organised by these actors in association with the magazine Tricity Calling.
Talking about his film, Mann said:.
