So many reviews for "I Am Love" make such extremely liberal use of the words "soaring," "sumptuous" and "sensual" that I found myself subconsciously removing my clothes while reading them. There is however, an unfortunate over-use of "tour de force" as well, tossed around in review after review, like it's still a hard-hitting thing to say. The clothes go back on. Mine, not Swinton's whose clothes come off for a scandalous affair in this lush, lusty, bourgeois family drama.
The score is by composer John Adams, but interestingly they were not written for the film. The pieces are culled from his pre-existing works as Matt Budd writing for Huffington Post points out, "The soundtrack contains music based on Adams' works including 'Nixon In China,' 'El Nino,' 'Shakerloops,' 'Death Of Klinghoffer' and 'Century Rolls.'"
