UCP has put in development Super Freak (working title), a limited series based on the life of musician Rick James, from writer Randy McKinnon (Chambers) and Nick Antosca. Ty James, daughter of the late Rick James, will executive produce the project. UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, will serve as the studio.
