Even though the Supergirl TV series has borrowed heavily from Kara Zor-El’s cousin’s rogues gallery, there’s no denying how much it’s embraced the source material. To date, we’ve seen the likes of Martian Manhunter, Livewire and the Parasite brought to life in ways that not even Smallville was able to accomplish.
So, naturally, one would expect season 3 to further utilize the vastness of the DC Universe, and devoted comic book readers who’ve thus far been paying attention have expected the Legion of Super-Heroes to show up before long. Not only has their signature ring been teased on this show in the past, but many of us suspected that the 31st century is where Mon-El’s ship ended up, something that actor Chris Wood has mildly hinted at.

Aside from the Girl of Steel herself, Supergirl has introduced us to a fair few aliens since launching back in 2015. However, while the likes of J’onn J’onzz and the White Martians have impressed, most of them have been humanoid in appearance. Now, that looks set to change in Kevin Smith’s upcoming episode of The CW series, which is titled “Supergirl Lives.”
Identified as Maaldorians, they’re certainly pretty interesting looking (see the photo below), but it’s important to note that they don’t hail from the comic books. As such, we have absolutely no idea what to expect from this lot and before getting too excited about what they’ll be up to, we should note that they may only have a very minor role in Supergirl. Although, with the episode set to take place in an alien fight club of sorts, we’ll probably see...

After introducing to a new small screen Superman and Lynda Carter’s President of the United States, next week’s episode of Supergirl clearly hopes to keep that momentum going by turning the spotlight to an alien fight club which will see both the Girl of Steel and Miss Martian forced to compete by the villainous Roulette.
In the comics, Roulette is a incredibly sneaky, manipulative and devious villain who makes her money in many illegal rackets, most notably fighting tournaments involving metahumans. She’s a formidable martial artist herself and can fight with the best, something we got a taste of during her last appearance on television a number of years ago in Smallville.

Last night’s episode of Supergirl featured the departures of both Superman and Cat Grant. While the latter will return sporadically throughout the show’s second season, the Man of Steel’s future on The CW is unknown. Regardless, this trailer for next week’s instalment makes it clear that Kara Danvers is going to have plenty to keep her busy.
In it, we get a first look at Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman) as the President of the United States. The actress coming to Supergirl is something which has been receiving a lot of mainstream media coverage, which has no doubt made Warner Bros. very happy seeing as they’re looking to ensure that viewers have followed the series from CBS.

Supergirl‘s move from CBS to The CW has led to some budget cuts, but that won’t stop the Man of Steel from making his presence felt in the first couple of episodes or some very exciting guest stars showing up. Among them is original small screen Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, and as you probably already know, she’s set to play the President of the United States.
That’s not the only thing going on here though, as we can also look forward to fan-favourite comic book character Maggie Sawyer making her presence felt alongside Mon-El, the mysterious character it’s thought was in the pod we saw crash to Earth in the closing few minutes of Supergirl‘s season 1 finale. Is he friend or foe? Sadly, this description provides no answers.

Tyler Hoechlin is ready to make his debut as our newest version of Superman/Clark Kent when Supergirl returns for Season 2 on The CW October 10th. But should his arrival have come a lot sooner? Check out the new teaser trailer as we discuss. So far we know Hoechlin will be guest-starring in the first two episodes of the new season, "The Adventures of Supergirl" and "The Last Children of Krypton." After that, who knows? Some might say Supergirl doesn't need Superman and, on the whole, I'd agree with that. Yet looking at where we are now, I can't help but think if Superman was going to appear he should have shown up a long time ago. It's cool to see other DC Comics characters make their way to the screen but Superman is assumed to be the main draw in anything that doesn't also include Batman (and even then...

From comic-book adaptations to sci-fi, fantasy and horror. Here are the new geek-skewed shows coming to Us TV in 2016...
The world of TV has never been so crowded and, at the same time, geeks have never had it so good. As saturated as the big screen is with superhero films and sprawling shared universes, that mentality has well and truly bled onto the small screen too.
So there’s a lot of comic-book adaptations coming up in 2016 from Marvel, DC and others, but genre TV is represented across the board with science-fiction, fantasy and horror represented at pretty much every network and cable channel in the Us.
Here's some of the geek TV that will be making its way to us from the Us next year.
