Call it the expanding Paddingtonverse… Or don't we're not the boss of you. But Jim Broadbent's favourite little bear is making his way on a new journey — to the stage. Yes, we've reached the point in the :a[Paddington]{href='https://www.empireonline.com/movies/reviews/paddington-review/' } cycle where the decision has been made to turn his story into a stage musical.
Studiocanal, which produced the (so far) two movies is backing this one, joining forces with Sonia Friedman Productions and Eliza Lumley Productions. Paddington is heading to the stage. A musical adaptation of Michael Bond’s original Paddington books is being developed by Sonia Friedman Productions, Studiocanal, and Eliza Lumley Productions. Tom Fletcher of the early noughties boyband McFly has signed on to write the music and lyrics.
Producers today said they plan to debut the production in the UK in 2025. No other casting or staging plans were released in today’s announcement.
“It is a privilege to be creating a new musical about this gorgeous and beloved little bear with such a wonderful team,” Friedman and Lumley said today in a joint statement.

I dreamed a dream of bears gone by – everyone’s favourite fuzzball is heading to a UK stage in 2025. More below…
Paul King’s Wonka seems to have got Studiocanal in the mood for another musical. In the week that the toe-tappingly cheerful chocolatier tale shot to the top of the UK box office, the studio, along with Sonia Friedman Productions and Eliza Lumley Productions, have announced work has started on bringing their most successful (and most ursine) property to the stage in an original musical.
McFly’s Tom Fletcher is on music and lyrics duty, with Jessica Swale (who won an Olivier-award in 2016 for her comedy Nell Gwynn) writing the script. Luke Sheppard, who recently directed inspiring musical-drama The Little Big Things on the West End, is attached to direct the show tentatively titled Paddington: The Musical.

Prehistoric creatures don’t come much more iconic than the Tyrannosaurus rex. There’s a reason why it’s called the “king”—the giant Cretaceous carnivore has been capturing people’s imaginations for over a century, cementing itself in pop culture in the early 1990s thanks to a scene-stealing performance in Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park. So, recreating the T-Rex for Life on Our Planet was no mean feat. “It’s possibly the most charismatic animal that’s ever lived,” says the series’ lead scientific researcher, Dr. Tom Fletcher. “And in many people’s eyes, it’s the most impressive animal that’s ever lived as well. So it’s some job to bring it up to date and to really do it justice.”

“Such a weird habit that I’ve got into today,” says Dan Tapster, the showrunner for Life on Our Planet. “I’ll say, ‘Yeah, we were there to film mammoths. Yeah, people, we’re here to film a T-Rex.’”
And yet, there isn’t really a better way to describe what the team of Life on Our Planet had to do for years to create the footage that makes up the documentary series. Of course, being CGI VFX, the prehistoric stars of the series are a good deal more compliant than the stars of your average nature documentary. But it also required much more planning.
“More so than with our normal series, there was a lot more pre-production,” says Sophie Lanfear, the producer-director and writer of episodes three and eight. “This had an extended phase of research and development before we even went into the field and shot stuff.

The Masked Singer UK is back for a fourth season, welcoming a new cast of 12 incognito celebrities.
On Sunday (1 January), the top-secret singing series, which sees a number of celebrities dressed in oversized costumes to hide their identity, returned to ITV.
During the opening episode, Cat and Mouse, a duo act, were among the first batch of competitors to perform for the judges by Irving Berlin.
Who are Cat and Mouse?
The clues revealed in the first episode included the number 200,000,000 written on a notepad.
Cat said he was “no stranger to legalities” and liked to “get to the bottom of cases”, as well as knowing “how to spin a tale”. The Vt also showed five different jars of spices lined up.
So far, fans have speculated that the duo could be Spice Girl Emma Bunton and partner Jade Jones. Others have their suspicions that the furry duo are married couple Shirlie and Martin Kemp.

Dust off your sequins and feathers because BBC’s “Strictly Come Dancing” has revealed the first celebrity contestants for this year’s two-step extravaganza.

In today’s Global Bulletin, the deceasing average of ages in BAFTA TV actress nominees raises ageism concerns; Gary Barlow sets music show at the BBC; Red Productions hires Chloe Dunbar as head of development; the European Audiovisual Observatory and the U.K.’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport announce sustainability conference; “Game of Thrones” prequel finds home at Sky Atlantic; and a Stanley Tucci Italian culinary series will debut in June on CNN International.
An analysis conducted by the Acting Your Age Campaign has found that since 2000, the average age of BAFTA leading TV actresses nominees has reduced from 52 to 32. “The messaging of this downwards age-trend is clear and worrying,” the analysis states. “Gendered ageism is seemingly increasing.”
In 2021 alone, nominees Daisy Edgar-Jones (“Normal People”), Billie Piper (“I Hate Suzie”), Hayley Squires (“Adult Material”), Jodie Comer (“Killing Eve”) and Letitia Wright (“Small Axe”) are aged between 22 and...

Back in 2012, British singer Tom Fletcher (of the band McFly) went viral with his wedding speech, which was seen over 19 million times on YouTube. For the occasion, Tom rewrote the lyrics of some of his band's most famous songs, tailoring them to his wife, the wedding party, and his family. Now, Tom and BBC Radio 1 presenter Matt Edmondson have decided to come to Prince Harry's help by turning the original speech into something that the groom-to-be could potentially use on his big day.
To really inspire Harry, the British star took things one step further by dressing up in a wig and army uniform and singing in front of a whole host of royal look-alikes. With lyrics such as "And obviously, my grandma's The Queen, she thinks you're a honey, and she's on the money," we're not sure this hilarious song would go down too well at Windsor Castle,...

Ever since Lucasfilm started marketing Star Wars: The Force Awakens we've seen all kinds of Star Wars fan trailers incorporating elements from the Force Awakens trailers with the original trilogy. Today we have three new fan trailers for the original trilogy created by YouTube user and Star Wars fan Tom F.
The trailers for each of these films were edited together in the style of the third trailer for The Force Awakens and they turned out great! These actually might be the best fan trailers that I've seen. They are definitely worth checking out.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released to watch on digital download on April 1st and on April 5th it will hit Blu-ray/DVD.

Trailers have changed drastically since the '90s. We used to have a narrator in our trailers giving us exposition and the setting for the whole film with funny one-liners, often with the latest pop song playing in the background. Now there is a lot more intense orchestrated music, a few fade to black to shots, and very little information about what the movie is about. Oh, and lots of BWAAAAAMs. Thanks, Inception.
Well, YouTuber Tom F decided to take Steven Spielberg's classic film Jurassic Park and see how the trailer would be if it was made recently, and it is pretty cool. Altogether it does a good job at hiding a lot of the big thrills that happen in movie and makes it very mysterious and intense, but I still love the the old trailer. The original focuses on the amazing wonder that is such a strong part of Jurassic Park.

It's safe to say that since Return Of The Jedi, trailers have come a long way. Hell, there used to be a time where you showed up and all you saw was the movie. No trailers, pre-show trivia, the latest hit from some artists you've never heard of...Nothing! What did people do while they waited?! Just sit around?
Anyway, Tom F went and modernized the Star Wars classic with a trailer similar to The Force Awakens! Check it out, and compare with the original below! Do you get the same feeling you had watching Tfa's trailer? I do.

You once had the rare distinction of owning summer with a guilty pleasure bubblegum pop anthem, so how do you follow up? How could you ever top that? Carly Rae Jepsen knows how: Make another infectiously catchy song and get Tom f—king Hanks to star in the video! While “I Really Like You” is no “Call Me Maybe”, the video is delightfully weird and unlike anything we’ve ever seen. Here are five adorably Wtf moments from Carly Rae Jepsen’s “I Really Like You”, starring Tom Hanks: 1.Tom Hanks lip-syncs Carly Rae’s ulta-mega-pop lyrics while walking around a version of New York City that is very obviously a sound stage, going about his day. He’s singing as Carly Rae but he’s living life as himself, Tom Hanks, which means he of course has to stop to sign autographs and take pictures with fans. You...

The BBC has responded to complaints it has received regarding its coverage of the BAFTAs on Sunday (February 8).
Some viewers got in touch with the broadcaster to object to the strong language used by presenter Stephen Fry during the ceremony.
Fry swore multiple times on the night, and introduced Tom Cruise as "Tom f**king" Cruise" ahead of the Best Film presentation.
The BBC replied: "The BAFTAs is not a BBC event, but during our coverage of the awards ceremony we try to find a compromise between presenting the events of the night as they happened, while remaining within the expectations of the majority of the viewers at home - which saw over 5.5 million people tuning in to watch.
"Attitudes to strong language vary enormously and we considered very carefully how to reflect this.
"Stephen, whose irreverence and style is extremely well-known to viewers, has presented the BAFTAs for several years.

The Only Way Is Essex star Mario Falcone has admitted that he was "arrogant" before his break from the show.
The reality star was forced to sit out the show's last series after a video was published which allegedly showed him snorting cocaine on a night out.
Speaking to Digital Spy and others in Ibiza - where the Towie cast are filming two special episodes - Falcone claimed that the show's bosses had been "really supportive".
"I think actions speak louder than words, and I think they could see that I was in a much better place and I was ready to come back," he said. "My attitude towards the show had changed as well."
Falcone, who explained that legally he cannot discuss the situation in detail, added that the timing of his suspension allowed him to spend time with his nephew Buzz - the son of McBusted's Tom Fletcher and his wife Giovanna,...

"They're like really tiny, little girl balls, if little girls had balls." Honestly, despite the inspiring teaming of Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy for a buddy cop comedy called The Heat, the first trailer was underwhelming. Thankfully, the red band trailer is here to save the day. It looks like Bullock and McCarthy had a blast on this film (no pun intended after you watch the trailer), and I can't wait to see what else the supporting cast members like Kaitlin Olson ("It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia") and Tom F. Wilson (Back to the Future) get to do. Plus, "SNL" cast member Taran Killam is supposed to show up. Watch it! Here's the red band trailer for Paul Feig's comedy The Heat from IGN: FBI Agent Sarah Ashburn (Sandra Bullock) is a top investigator with a reputation for excellence and hyper-arrogance. Next year is going to be a big one for Melissa McCarthy. She'll be sharing the screen as a co-lead in Identity Theft with Jason Bateman and she'll also be joining Sandra Bullock going back to her Miss Congeniality roots for The Heat. The buddy cop comedy from Bridesmaids director Paul Feig looks like standard crime comedy fare, and Bullock and McCarthy seem to have some great chemistry. However, I wish there were some more hearty laughs to be had as not much original seems to be on display in the first trailer. It's fun to see Tom F. Wilson (Back to the Future) and Kaitlin Olson ("It's Always Sunny in Philadelpha") in small roles though. But will it be as funny as Bridesmaids? We'll find out. Watch below! Here's the first trailer for Paul Feig's The Heat originally from Apple: FBI Agent Sarah Ashburn (Sandra Bullock) is a...

Following up the Man of Steel in 2nd place in the Stratego Sci-Fi 100 was Harrison Ford’s gruff but lovable rogue Han Solo, with Frank Oz’s jedi master Yoda coming third, both representing Star Wars in the top three and rounding it out firmly in George Lucas’ favour. Steven Spielberg’s E.T may be one of the most lovable characters of all time, but only made it to fourth in the list, followed by Will Smith’s Agent Jay from the hugely popular Men in Black series at number five.

McFly have revealed plans to follow in the footsteps of One Direction and The Wanted and play a series of "small shows" for their fans in America. The group hope to record their sixth studio album in June and head to the Us in September for a few targeted concerts, Billboard reports. McFly have never toured America in the seven years they have been together and have released one American album Just My Luck, which coincided with the film of the same name in which they starred with Lindsay Lohan. Singer Tom Fletcher said: "We have some fans in America that have been fans for like eight or nine years - right from the beginning - so much so that they fly over to see us in the UK. "It's amazing that they are so dedicated. So I think we owe it to them to come over." McFly - featuring Fletcher,...
