Summer in New York has been all sorts of record-breaking hot, and I'm not just talking about the weather! This July, I decided to take a break from waiting outside talk shows and it back to my roots of meeting celebrities on film and television sets.
Not only was I able to stage a run-in with James McAvoy, who is filming "The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby" here in New York, but, by crossing a state line or three, I also got to meet "The Hunger Games" star Alexander Ludwig and "Twilight"'s Taylor Lautner on the set of "Grown Ups 2" in Massachusetts.
Not to brag, but I am surprised that I haven't suffered heat stroke from being around three massive movie-making hotties during all of these East Coast heat waves.
After seeing dozens of pictures on Taylor Lautner fan sites of people meeting him on the "Grown Ups 2" set in Swampscott,...

I have to admit that I kept a low profile this June here in "fan girl" world, although looking back on the celebrities I met, maybe it wasn't too shabby after all.
Earlier in the month was the Council of Fashion Designers in America Awards held at the Alice Tully Theater at Lincoln Center, which is often referred to as the Oscars of Fashion. The event was hosted by Seth Meyers and included quite the guest list, including Matt Bomer, Jessica Chastain, Kate Bosworth and Julianne Hough – all of whom I had the pleasure of meeting that night.
With "Magic Mike" and "The Amazing Spider-Man" hitting theaters, the end of the month was an exciting time for me. I've been travelling all over the city trying to meet the likes of Emma Stone, Channing Tatum and Joe Manganiello. How'd it go? Well, read on!

They say that April showers bring May flowers, and, while rain may not have been the primary cause behind my lack of A-list encounters in April, there was definitely a crop of roses waiting for me in May.
"The Avengers" promotional train crossed over into the beginning of the month, offering a couple more chances at meeting the cast, and I finally succeeded! Not only did I get to meet Loki himself, Tom Hiddleston, but I also managed to meet actual Avenger, Mark Ruffalo.
The annual Met Gala soon followed, as well as the television Upfronts, which is when networks trot out their hottest talent for potential advertisers. "Twilight" stars, Oscar nominees and even a "Bridesmaid" were among the highlights of my flower-filled month.
Loki and the Hulk Do a Partial Assemble For Me

When April began, I knew that there was no chance it could top March's "The Hunger Games" rush. It's usually a quiet month anyway, and the biggest event here in New York that would be worth making a big fuss over was the Tribeca Film Festival.
But, with "The Avengers" closing the festival, I was thrilled. Perhaps my prediction would be off.
Alas, my search for superheroes wasn't as fruitful as I'd like. Try as I might, Thor, Captain America, The Hulk, Loki and more just weren't sharing their super-stardom with me.
Thankfully, the beginning of the month was a bit more productive when I met "21 Jump Street" star Dave Franco and "The Five-Year Engagement" actress Alison Brie at a concert. I even got the chance to talk to Alison about how great "Five-Year" was only to find out she hadn't even seen it yet!

March was all about one thing and one thing only for me: "The Hunger Games." Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth headed to New York for some promotional appearances and I had never been more ready. They were all over New York City, from morning shows to late night talk shows, with a premiere and a book signing in between.
And it didn't work out too badly for me. I spent 20 straight hours chasing them around and managed to snap photos with Liam Hemsworth, Isabelle Fuhrman and Stanley Tucci. Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson were the most in-demand – and therefore the most difficult to meet – but I've got my eye on them for next time.
Aside from the cast itself, I managed to meet a few other celebs at "The Hunger Games" premiere, and was lucky enough to spend St. Patrick's Day with Kellan Lutz. Not too shabby,...

I've gotta be honest: I know "John Carter" is a sci-fi flick, but I don't know much else about it. However, I know who Tim Riggins is, and therefore I know who Taylor Kitsch is, and that's how this story begins.
"John Carter" hits theaters March 9 and, thanks to the Disney machine, Kitsch is knee-deep into a heavy duty press tour that included all of my favorite stops in New York yesterday. His morning started at "Good Morning America," continued at "Live! With Kelly" and ended at an early taping of "Late Show with David Letterman."
I opted to try to meet him at "Letterman." The only problem? Rain. Lots of it.
I arrived at the studio later than I should have and was instantly nervous when, aside from five photographers at the entrance, there wasn't a single other soul in sight. The barricade designated for fans was empty,...

If I could sum up my meeting with Paul Rudd yesterday into one word, it would be awkward.
In my experience, the funnier the celebrity, the more socially off they are. Don't get me wrong: the "Wanderlust" star is a super nice guy. When he arrived at the "Late Show with David Letterman" studio yesterday, he came right across the street and started signing – even personalizing! – autographs for fans.
Once he signed for the group of girls next to me, I promptly asked him for a picture. He ignored me.
Awkward!
However, as Paul made his way along the barricade signing all sorts of Judd Apatow memorabilia, I asked again. Okay, scratch that. I pleaded. I even went so far as to make puppy dog eyes at his publicist but she wasn't paying any attention to me. Feeling sheepish (read: shameless), I asked again every time Paul even looked in my general direction.

Fashion Week went full speed ahead this week and now that it's over, I'm finally catching my breath.
As always, there was no shortage of celebrity guests at the shows, parties, or other events but this season still seemed a little dry compared to past seasons. Perhaps it was the Grammys in Los Angeles that interfered, or the Berlin Film Festival happening in Germany now. Still, I had plenty of awesome encounters.
I knew up and coming menswear designer Simon Spurr would be a good place for hot, young male stars, so on Sunday night, I braved the harsh weather outside Milk Studios. Musicians Joe Jonas and Gabe Saporta were among some of the guests, as well as my buddy Kellan Lutz. My favorite of the night was "The Walking Dead" star Norman Reedus (looking clean and completely devoid of a certain ear necklace, I might add). He...

Fashion Week is upon us here in New York.
Last night, the amFAR Gala at Cipriani Wall Street served as a Fashion Week kick-off as well as a fundraiser. And, as you might have guessed, there was no shortage of VIP guests in attendance.
Arrivals were a little chaotic once tourists and Wall Street suits just out of work realized what was going on, but observing was still a treat. Among the guests I witnessed arrive were host Sarah Jessica Parker, Stanley Tucci, Alan Cumming, Elizabeth Hurley, Cheyenne Jackson, Jennifer Hudson and the legendary Woody Allen.
While watching each arrival in fancy town cars, I spotted a familiar face in a dapper tuxedo walking up the street – it was Kellan Lutz! I had seen the "Twilight" star just 24 hours earlier when he left a taping of "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," but so many people had been waiting...

Seriously, who doesn't love Channing Tatum? Apparently, no one.
I've been a big fan since I saw him twice in 2006 — in the indie drama "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints" and the teen comedy "She's the Man." Needless to say, I was impressed by his acting chops, but even more impressed (and thankful for) the amount of time he spends on-screen without his shirt.
When Channing filmed "The Son of No One" in New York in March 2010, I made sure to stop by the set a couple times in order to meet him. The difference between meeting him then and now was drastic! Then, I was the only fan around. This week, when I stood outside "Live With Kelly" to catch him as he promoted "The Vow," I was crammed into a corral with more than 50 other young girls ready to drool and swoon in his face!

It was a pretty slow week here in fan girl world, and after a Drew Barrymore snub at "Good Morning America," I was sure there would be any new encounters this week.
Then I heard that Tilda Swinton would be on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and decided to try my luck there, all the while getting a chance to show my support for "We Need to Talk About Kevin," which gets a wide release starting today. "The Daily Show" is usually a sure thing but the seemingly never ending rain had me a bit nervous nonetheless.
Upon her arrival, Swinton ran in, admitting she was late and promising to stop for everyone on her way out. Sure enough, the actress is a woman of her word.
It was still raining, but thankfully a "Daily Show" employee held an umbrella over her so she could take her...

Like most of the gang at NextMovie, I'm psyched for the March release of "The Hunger Games."
The franchise has been referred to as the next 'Twilight' and I actually agree, if only based on the hype surrounding it. As you may have guessed, I've spent the past three years trying to meet the entire cast of "Twilight" and even though I'm nearly there, it's taken all that time and I may never finish.
I refuse to let this happen with "The Hunger Games." Refuse!
When I heard Elizabeth Banks – Effie Trinket herself – would be in town promoting her latest flick, "Man on a Ledge," I knew that it was now or never. Elizabeth was doing the usual appearances: "The Late Show with David Letterman" and "Live! With Kelly," as well as an unusual stop on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart."

Mark Wahlberg doesn't just play a tough guy in movies — he's also tough to take a photo with.
I knew he would be spending the week making rounds on the talk show circuit to promote "Contraband," so I set out bright and early to start my day at the "Today" show plaza. I thought it would be an easy morning and I would have to spend maybe about an hour outside in the cold before getting a quick pic and then heading home for the day. I was wrong. I was so very, very wrong.
When I hadn't seen Wahlberg by 8:25 a.m., I moved on to Plan B – "Live! With Kelly." When I got to the studio, another fan told me that Mark had been running late for "Today" and arrived just after I'd left. Ugh.

I have a girl crush on Carey Mulligan.
Of course, this single-sided love affair has been going on since 2009 when she was spotted all over New York City with then boyfriend Shia Labeouf, filming "Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps" and prepping for a very busy awards season following the success of "An Education."
Without sounding like a stalker, I've had a few close calls at meeting her. I've passed her on the street, but was completely unprepared and therefore didn't have the courage to stop her for a chat. I spotted her outside the 2010 National Board of Review Awards. We mingled in the same crowd at Cipriani during "Wall Street 2" after-party, and I once saw her leaving another party with Emilie de Ravin.
I'd assumed all these misses meant our stars were never meant to align and I would have to suffer the fate of never having met one...

View Gallery » My mission this week, which I chose for myself and had no problem accepting, was to Meet. Tom. Cruise.
After a little research, it looked like said mission was totally possible. The cast of "Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol" – Tom included – would be making the rounds at the "Today" show, "Late Show With David Letterman" and, of course, the New York City red carpet premiere.
When I arrived bright and early and freezing cold to "Today," Paula Patton was already there signing autographs and posing for pictures. It was a little more chaotic than usual but she handled it like a champ, though I didn't get anywhere near her to ask for a picture.
Simon Pegg arrived shortly after Patton was inside, and I managed to grab him for a picture on his way inside. I was off to a great start!

View Gallery » Monday was a rough day for Scarlett Johansson fans in New York, and it wasn't because of the cold weather. Thankfully, we had Matt Damon to warm things up a bit.
My day began bright and early at the "Today" show studio in my first of three attempts to meet ScarJo for the day. Much to my dismay, she took the garage in and out so I didn't even get to see her in person.
A few hours later, I took up residency outside "Late Night with David Letterman" in the hopes of meeting her there, but, this time, she didn't stop for fans on her way in or out. Bummer.
My only option left was the "We Bought a Zoo" premiere at Ziegfeld Theater that night. I headed home to thaw out a bit before freezing myself waiting once again as I hoped the third time would be a charm.

I was going to meet Zac if my life depended on it.
Needless to say I set my alarm (for 4:30 a.m. – yuck!) last night and was fully prepared to go to any necessary extreme today to see Zac's beautifully coifed hair up close and in person.
The morning didn't exactly get off to a great start. I slept through my alarm's loud music and obnoxious beeping until 5:30 a.m., setting me back an hour. For those of you that haven't experienced "Today"'s Rockefeller Center set, every morning at 6:30, they open the barricaded area around the plaza to a waiting crowd of fans and tourists. So I only...

I made my way to the restaurant shortly after arrivals had ended and the ceremony had begun in hopes that the crowd would have dissipated and I'd be able to catch the celebrities as they left the big event. Unfortunately, I was wrong. After the crowd continued to grow, security put up some barricades, of which I'm actually a fan. Even though they can be over-crowded and make your pictures a little awkward, they create a safer environment for the stars to greet the fans, and that only encourages them to do so.
