Emily Blunt is a desperate single mom who ends up in a wild criminal scheme in David Yates’ Pain Hustlers. Netflix today dropped the first trailer for the film billed as tonally similar to The Big Short, American Hustle and The Wolf of Wall Street.
In Pain Hustlers, Blunt stars as Liza Drake, a blue-collar single mom who has just lost her job and is at the end of her rope. A chance meeting with pharmaceutical sales rep Pete Brenner (Chris Evans) puts her on an upwards trajectory economically but dubious path ethically as she becomes entangled in a dangerous racketeering scheme. Dealing with her increasingly unhinged boss (Andy Garcia), the worsening medical condition of her daughter (Chloe Coleman), and a growing awareness of the devastation the company is causing forces Liza to examine her choices.
The trailer teases Liza and Pete’s high salary, hard-partying lifestyle with title cards...

Agent Carter is coming to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Hayley Atwell is set to appear in the season premiere of S.H.I.E.L.D., EW has confirmed.
Atwell first dazzled as the Ssr agent and love interest to Steve Rogers in Captain America: The First Avenger, before making a brief cameo again in The Winter Soldier, albeit Peggy was much older.
Details on Atwell’s appearance on the ABC series are being kept under wraps. It’s unclear whether she’ll appear in flashbacks to the ’40s or if she’ll don the old-lady getup like she did in The Winter Soldier.

Though she's pushing 70, Lauren Hutton is proving that an old pro still has a place in the modeling world.
As the face of Lucky Brand's fall Denim Democracy campaign, Hutton is still on top of her game in an industry that generally favors youth and a fresh new face. Lucky executive vice president and creative director Patrick Wade tells Wwd that Hutton arrived to the late June shoot in L.A. ever the pro.
"We do shoots all the time with models, but Lauren really made the day," Wade says. "She brought so much energy to the set." Beyond energy, she also brought her own makeup and applied it herself.
Wade's also hopefully that Hutton will be recruited to open the brand's Santa Monica and Beverly Hills stores this fall. "We love her and would love for her to be part of that," he says.
We'd love that, too.

James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the most anticipated comic book movies currently in development, for so many reasons. For a start, it’s the first and only original film coming our way in Marvel’s Phase Two. And, of course, its release date puts it one film behind The Avengers 2, and smart money says that it’s going to have one hell of a post-credits scene.
Chris Pratt was the first cast member to board the project last month, set to play Peter Quill, a.k.a. Star-Lord, the leader of the Guardians, and the offspring of a human and an alien.
THR report that the studio has now found its second cast member in Dave Bautista, who has closed a deal to play Drax the Destroyer. Bautista has been in the running for the part for the last few months, alongside the likes of Isaiah Mustafa,...

Wrestler, Mixed Martial arts expert, and on-the-rise actor David Bautista will inhabit the role of Drax the Destroyer in Marvel’s upcoming interstellar adventure: Guardians of the Galaxy. The film, directed by James Gunn, is set to land next August and looks to transport the popular Marvel franchise into the uncharted depths of space.
News broke yesterday via The Hollywood Reporter detailing how Bautista joined the production and, in turn, fought off strong competition to secure the promising role. Though the WWE star had been on Marvel’s galactic radar for some time, he wasn’t seen as the out and out favourite to be cast. Actors such as Patrick Wade, Isaiah Mustafa and, in particular, Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa, looked to be in contention for the role of the hefty warrior.

Borys Kit from THR was right when he tweeted that Jason Momoa has not been offered the role and that Marvel hasn’t chosen their Drax – until yesterday. Beating out Isaiah Mustafa, Patrick Wade, and Momoa, former WWE heavyweight champion Dave Bautista has just landed the biggest role of his career. Last seen in RZA’s The Man with the Iron Fists, Bautista will play Drax the Destroyer in the intergalactic superhero film where he will costar with Chris Pratt (Parks and Recreation) playing Peter Quill a.k.a. Star Lord. Drax is green-skinned brute type, who in the comic books died as a human Arthur Douglas and... WWE wrestler Dave Bautista (The Man With the Iron Fists, Riddick) has signed on to play Drax the Destroyer in Marvel's upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy" film, which will be directed by James Gunn (Super, Slither). Bautista was one of many actors who tested for the role, including Isaiah Mustafa, Patrick Wade and Jason Momoa (Conan the Barbarian). Last month, Latino-Review said that Momoa was offered the role, making it yet another story that site got wrong. "Guardians of the Galaxy" centers on Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), a Us pilot who ends up in space in the middle of a universal conflict and goes on the run with futuristic ex-cons who have something everyone want. Drax is a human resurrected as a green warrior with the sole purpose of killing Thanos (the villain in the final-scene of "The Avengers"). His powers include flight, super-strength and energy blasts.

Thoughts by Tsr: I’ve said numerous times that I’m really excited for Guardians of the Galaxy, so I’m paying attention to every bit of news. Dave Bautista’s casting doesn’t have me anywhere near as thrilled as Chris Pratt playing Star-Lord, but it’s still worth noticing. While names like Isaiah Mustafa (the Old Spice guy), Patrick Wade, and Jason Momoa from “Game of Thrones” were in the running, Bautista is the pick to play Drax the Destroyer. Drax started out as a human.

Last month, it appeared that Conan remake star Jason Momoa had won over Marvel executives to score the role of hulking warrior Drax The Destroyer in the company’s far-out space tale Guardians Of The Galaxy. But that remained rumour, and indeed someone else has been signed for the role, with former wrestler Dave Bautista taking on Drax instead.Bautista, who got his start in entertainment via the WWF/WWE, has been slowly inching his way into film and TV with such projects as House Of The Rising Son, The Scorpion King 3: Battle For Redemption, last year’s The Man With The Iron Fists and, more unexpectedly, Werner Herzog’s My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done.Guardians promises to be his highest profile role yet, one he won despite competition from Momoa, Isaiah Mustafa and Patrick Wade. The character (who also goes by the slightly less superheroic...

More than a month after we learned that Parks and Recreation's Chris Pratt was cast in the role of Star-Lord in Marvel's anticipated superhero film Guardians of the Galaxy comes official word on the casting for Drax, and it isn't Isaiah Mustafa, Patrick Wade, or even Jason Momoa, who was rumored to be offered the role last month. WWE wrestler, mixed martial artist and sometimes actor Dave Bautista, a.k.a. "Batista," has landed the role. Guardians of the Galaxy will be directed by James Gunn and is said to be tied to The Avengers and other Marvel movies. Update: Mixed martial artist and former WWE star Dave Bautista has signed on to play the role of Drax the Destroyer in "Guardians of the Galaxy," according to Heat Vision.
The part was reported in February to have gone to "Game of Thrones" alum and "Conan the Barbarian" star Jason Momoa, who was apparently only one of several contenders for the role, including Isaiah Mustafa and Patrick Wade.
Dave Bautista is best known for his time with World Wrestling Entertainment, during which he battled under the ring name "Batista." He recently appeared in "The Scorpion King 3: Battle For Redemption" and RZA's "The Man with the Iron Fists" and will be seen later this year in "Riddick," opening Sept. 6.

You need a big man to play a big superhuman character. And while Marvel Studios reportedly flirted with "Conan The Barbarian"/"Game Of Thrones" star Jason Momoa, the role has gone to someone else. THR reports that WWE wrestler Dave Bautista has closed his deal to play Drax The Destroyer in their upcoming adaptation of "Guardians Of The Galaxy." Other actors up for the role apparently included Isaiah Mustafa and Patrick Wade. According to the comics, Drax started out as Arthur Douglas, a regular old human whose family was attacked and killed by the supervillain Thanos (the big guy at the end of "The Avengers," which leads many to believe "Guardians Of The Galaxy" will lead into the Joss Whedon's 2015 sequel). Needing a champion to combat Thanos, the being known as Kronos took Arthur's spirit and placed it in a powerful new body, and Drax the Destroyer was born.
